Watercoloured Vargas

First I had made a limited pallete wash of yellow and blue and almost stopped there. I had liked it with the subdued colours. Part of the limited pallete is still visible in his left arm where I left it as is. But, I felt compelled to colour him fully. I then threw on some complementary colours and things went wild from there. Like the pencil drawing itself, I sort of abandoned my sense of restraint and towards the end started piling on colour like a fiend. It's very colourful to say the least.... I must say that with all the piles of layering, it was the most fun I had doing a watercolour in a very long time. When doing this, I was listening to some Pink Floyd, so I'm not sure if that had to do with anything. Heh.

Not only do I extremely dig your work on Vargas, but I also wish I had his abs. thumbup.gif

Very good job. The yellow you used in his skin looks real good. You are right it is very colorful, very bright and lively. The way you used the colors for muscle definition is also real good. I like this piece a lot.

You should go crazy a little more often.

Nice job.

However, his expression looks a little too happy. I haven't looked at the sprite for Vargas in a while mind you but I don't recall his eyes/mouth looking so cheerful. But I couldn't do any better so what do I know biggrin.gif

I could refer you to the thing to my left, Rac'. ^_-

Muy excelente, Kame... the only crits I can offer are that his right hand looks funky and his neck looks too smoothly connected from deltoid to head... that trap' muscle usually stops a bit lower down, around the vein there.

Unless you were trying to make him look Cardassian... wink.gif
