Uh, sorry if this has been asked before, if so, feel free to smack the squirrel!
Why do you have a General Squenix Forum rather than a General RPG Forum? It just seems that fans of FF are more likely RPG fans then Square fans. Well, unless they work at Square Enix. It'd just make more sence to compile the RPG topics seeing as any topic in the Squenix Forum is basically RPG based... The General Squenix forum is for Final Fantasy games not covered by CoN, as well as other non-FF-but-still-Squenix RPGs. Any RPGs not produced by Squenix can be (and are) discussed in the General Gaming Forum.
I think. Yes. That's it. |

Well yeah I get that, it's just expanding it to general RPGs would give more of a range for discussion. I mean not meany play only Square RPGs just to be loyal. Topics like 'what RPGs do you own?' (Which I'll prolly do in gaming now I think about it
![]() It could also give raise to a fun rom test game-type thing I may or may not try later on. I'm just thinking if it's worth it. -------------------- The Arcana are the means by which ALL is revealed. |

LadyRed has it right.
Oh, and *smacks the squirell* I'm pretty sure it's been asked before. So, why do we divide it? Because we like organizing things like this. It makes things easier to find, especially if someone is trying to find a certain topic. It also makes the forums less messy and bloated; that's also why we don't have one big forum for the Final Fantasy games that we cover. -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

JK man, it was a good question, but it is their forum. They run it how they want and you get to use it as a privilege. ![]() |

It's a fair question, and I've wondered if it'd be worth changing myself.
The thing that's stopped me doing one of my Arbitrary Admin Actions and just changing it is the history of the forum: it used to be General Final Fantasy, until it seemed more sensible to allow Chrono Trigger etc. in there. If it became "General RPGs" now, where would it stop? It's just a fairly random line drawn between general-specific and general-general. I think on balance, it's probably right as it is. The term "RPG" covers an awful lot -- do we allow Deus Ex in there, for instance? By literal definition there's a lot more role-playing involved in it than a typical Square-style plot-on-rails interactive movie. Square stuff, on the other hand, does tend to be similarly designed and structured, and a lot of topics fit nicely into that. If I were tempted to widen it, it'd probably be to Square-style or console-style RPGs. But probably not at all. |
