ff6 - gau, strago, and umaro. the game's got so many characters, so they should've just trimmed the fat.
ff7 - cait sith. let me take a quote from myself. "He's a stupid King "Cat as the Hat" on a Marshmallow Moogle". i loath and despise him. if i had him in my party i always had the urge to just kill him off and let him lay on the floor while the real characters did the fighting. it's just so relieving to see cait sith being filled with bullets from barret or vincent and crumpling to the ground in a messy heap. Â ff8 - selphie, man was she annoying. the rest really weren't so bad. ff9 - eiko, go back to band camp. then come back and tell me all the new tricks you can do with your flute. just as long as i dont have to deal with you. ff10 - lulu. i'm just not big on the goth thing. yuna was also pretty annoying at times, her voice was just so weak and pitiful sounding. Worst of all time? Cait Sith. -------------------- The clouds ran away, opened up the sky And one by one I watched every constellation die And there I was frozen, standing in my backyard Face to face, eye to eye, staring at the last star I should've known, walked all the way home To find that she wasn't here, I'm still all alone -Atmosphere "Always Coming Back Home to You" |

FF1 None all had their strengths and weaknesses
FF2 Guy/Gus he was ugly and about as interesting and dry paint FF3 N\A FF4 Edward you were complete wuss, Tella was almost a close second. FF5 Cara, darn it I liked Galuf and she was not interesting. FF6 Relm and Strago Don't even get me started on how useless both of them were. FF7 Cait Sith Same as above FF8N\A FF9N\A FF10 Kimahri I liked him but as a fighter he was totally useless whoever came up with his fighting script should be sacked now. |

Final Fantasy I - They all had good and bad points, but I will say that I rarely used the Red Mage or the Black Belt. Â Incidentally, the Thief is an investment, because he eventually turns into the uber-powerful Ninja.
Final Fantasy IV - Edward. Â Weak, cowardly, and fairly annoying. Â Though he gets points for having the sense to leave my party quickly. Final Fantasy V - All of them. Â Seriously. Â But if I had to choose, probably Cara/Krile, since she proved the most useless. Final Fantasy VI - None. Â They were all good, in a way. Â (Even Locke.) Final Fantasy VII - Aeris. Â Many people know how I hate Aeris. Â Annoying, annoying, annoying, and weak. Â Thanks, Sephy, for lightening my load. Â Final Fantasy VIII - I never liked Irvine. Â He was pretty powerful (with the right Shot ammo), but I didn't like his personality. Final Fantasy IX - Quina. Â He/she wasn't really all that useful for me, though I imagine if you had the patience to Eat, his/her Blue Magic would make him/her fairly powerful. Â If you asked me who I thought was the most annoying, yet powerful character, I'd say Steiner. Final Fantasy X - Kimahri. Â Compared to the others he just didn't have personality, and I never used him. Â (Excluding that one part on Mt. Gagazet when you're forced to.) Final Fantasy Tactics - Cloud. Â For me, at least, the FFVII nostalgia wasn't enough to merit levelling him up from ground zero to match the rest of my party (then in the 40-50's). Â Thus, I never really used him. Â He's not very important to the plot either, I don't think. -------------------- "I always have a quotation for everything - it saves original thinking." ~Dorothy L. FFIV: No one really...but if I had to choose, probably Edward. He didn't do much except dish out a hovercraft (that was used for only two minutes of the game unless you decide to do a bit more with it) and play a song that disabled the anti-armor field in that cave during that battle...
FFV: Leena. I think Neal basically summed up my thoughts. FFVI: They were all very well built, but if I had to choose, probably Umaro...I never found a use for him. FFVII: Cait Sith. God... FFVIII: I absolutely, positively hated Rinoa. Try to guess why. FFIX: None really...Steiner had a point in the storyline, but I just couldn't stand his comical look. FFX: Tidus. But that's kinda unoriginal anyway. FFT: Delita. He was a really well-built character, but I always keep wondering if he's on my side or on the other, which frustrates me to no end. -------------------- Nine-hundred ninety-nine billion nine-hundered ninety-nine million nine-hundred ninety-nine thousand nine-hundred ninety-nine bottles of beer on the wall... |

ff4: Â i can't bash ff4. Â no way. Â (okay ...so tellah drove me nuts ...but he was the one who coined the phrase "you spoony bard", can't argue with that)
ff5: Â umm ...all the characters are the same ff6: Â never, EVER used mog, cyan, gau, strago ..but that doesn't really mean i hate them ...just that i like the others more. Â ff7: Â cait sith drove me f-ing nuts. ff8: Â i hated squall and rinoa. Â funny how they're the main characters, eh? Â i think all the other characters had so much potential for learning and growth ...but square focused on the two most ANNOYING characters EVER ff9: Â quina = annoying. Â steiner = really annoying. and that ugly queen .....:shudder: ff10: Â never played ...but i have a feeling i'd hate some of them. -------------------- |

FF1- Didn't really hate anyone
FF2- never played FF3- never played FF4- Edward, sure he saves your life in that elf guys place and gives you his vehicle thingy, but thats it. FF5- Ummm....everyone is equaly loved and hated...they all do the same thing FF6- Relm, has anyone noticed that her control command(after given that one item) is the best way to get Strago all his skills? FF7- Cait Sith, he was just retarded FF8- Quistis, only as far as abilities are concerned, shes cool and all, but unless you get shockwave pulsar, she sucks FF9- I'd have to say Aramant, His attack is strong and all, and his throwing is pretty good but he isnt good enough compared to the others to make it into my party. FF10- played the demo, Tidus' voice annoys me FFT- Wiegraf, He is cool and all, but is just annoying to fight. |

ff1- red mage
ff2- never played ff3- never played ff4- rydia, when you first get her, fight! 2 dmg yay! ff5- never played ff6- strago, you only need him for one part then hes useless for the rest of the game. IMO. ff7- none. ff8- irvine, just think edgar was a cooler ladies' man. ff9- eiko, annoying. ff10- didnt play enough to decide. fft- rafa, so useless, next would be malak, just because hes the same thing as her but a bit stronger. -------------------- Why do kamakazi pilots wear helmets? |

Do you want to know what the worst part of the entire game in Final Fantasy 7 was? The stupid part where Cait Sith is leading you back into Midgar at the end of disk 2, and he brings you to the top of a sewer and just stands there dancing and bobbing like an idiot. I laughed my ass off, and silently wished Sephiroth would drop down a la "Aeris Die Time", and his body would fall into the sewer and you'd hear the splash.

I'm sorry SM, but Aeris owns you. First off, some of her limits are incredible.  Fury Brand and Great Gospel (while not inflicting any physical damage by themselves) are two of the best limits in the game.  Fury Brand, it's like two limits for the price of one. And that's  And if you manipulate her in the correct manner, she can even be quite effective offensively as well. Equip her with the Enemy Skills materia, get some good enemy skills (Beta, Matra Magic, and Trine just being a few examples) and she is golden.  With these attacks, Aeris was doing equal (if not beyond) the damage that Cloud was inflicting with his physical attacks.  Not bad for a "white mage." And to stay on topic, I'm going to have to go with Squall or agree with the many Cait Sith for being the worst FF character. -------------------- "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." - Aristotle |

FF1 - gee... the playable chars were all good... Least favourite person I meet: Earth Vampire: "I'm Invincible but you can kill me off with one spell"
FF2 - Loved everyone except Frioniel. Point: HE'S GOT BARELY ANY PERSONALITY! The Emperor and the king were annoying too... FF3 - The Water Nyph wht's-her-name...gee...So linear... bleaah! FF4 - Zemus sucked... He didn't make much of a point... FF5 - Gee...Butz was boring enough for me... -_-''' FF6 - Hmmm.......................................This would be Gestahl. Boring old geezer... FF7 - Cid Highwind! Â Oh yeah...

FF4: Edward. Cool personality and story don't make up for horrid battle power.
FF6: Relm. I only used her to glitch my game a few times. FF7: Barret, just didn't like him. FF8: Irvine, despite being pretty strong. FF9: Eiko was one of those annoying little brats. Just left a bad impression. FFX: Nobody -------------------- Lou: There's a couple of guys fighting down at the aquarium, Chief. Wiggum: Do they still sell those frozen bananas? Lou: I think so. Actually, I can agree with you on that point. Â If you tried hard enough, any of the characters in FFVII could become serious offensive powerhouses, or valuable defensive assets. Â Really, it's like that with almost every character in most Final Fantasy games; get them to a high enough level with the right equipment and statistical combinations, and they'll be powerful no matter how they started out, or what the typical conceptions about their class may be. That being said, her potential usefulness in battle still doesn't change the fact that I find her character irritating to no end. Â And, as a sneaky-shifty way to stay on topic, I'll change my vote on FFT from Cloud to Malak. Â I almost forgot how annoying he was. -------------------- "I always have a quotation for everything - it saves original thinking." ~Dorothy L. FF1-Black Belt. Â He's worse than a fighter, and never really comes in handy.
FF2-Not Played FF3-Not Played FF4-Edward/Gilbert. Â The one epic battle you got to participate in (not including Dark Elf, he wasn't actually in it) and actually fight, you ran off screen the whole time. Â And when Fabul needed you most for their defense, you tripped and fell on your face, literally. Some hero you are. FF5-Faris. Â In my eyes, Â after you lost Syldra, you became useless FF6-Locke. Â Attack me if you wish, but I cannot stand this guy. Â He lacks too much offensive capability in the early game, at the time when characters were very unique w/o the aid of espers. Haven't played any FF beyond 6, except 7, which I'm not done with yet. |

I don't think it really matters that much what character you use in ff5, ff6, ff7, ff8, and fft. (some hate caith sith, but i don't hate it/he/she ??? that much because it's a good human shield for me
Except, I didn't like Umaro, I always used Sleep, and use Level 1 or 2 spells (Fire, ice, poison, bolt, aero), but when someone attacks sleeping monsters, it ruins my evil combinition. I alwasy detested Berserkers -------------------- I will be there... |

FF1- The Thief (He completely sucks before he becomes a ninja)
FF4- Edge...I hated edge because he just wasn't that powerful of a fighter...I would've much preferred Yang in the party FF5- I hated Krile...she didn't have the kooky appeal of Galuf and she just looked dumb. FF6- Umaro and Gogo (I agree with Neal on this one because gogo's power was disgraceful) FF7- Cait Sith..EASILY. I hated his personality, I hated the guy who controlled him, if possible, i would've killed him again and again with KoR) FF8- This is a game that I hated and loved at the same time...Selphie was worthless. FF9- Wow, a game in which I actually liked ALL of the characters, what annoyed me most was that Eiko got Holy...they could've just cut her and given Dagger the cool spells. FFX- Tidus was a little too annoying to me and Yuna's voice irritated me to no end. FFT- Rafa and Malak...no need to explain |

I don't understand how anyone can despise any character from Final Fantasy V through X. Â The only character I would ever claim to be essentially useless would have to be Cid, form FFII.
He had no real purpose in battle aside from filling in for those who had gone missing.  When your numbers were down, there was Cid. As well, what was his weapon, like, a monkey wrench or something.  Pathetic! Eddy  -------------------- "How can there be any meaning in the memory of such a being. What I have shown you is reality. FFV- Krile (I was getting so used to Galuf, and then she comes along...why?)
FFVI- Locke (His abilities suck, his stats suck...need I say more) FFVII- Cait Sith (But only because he's useless in battle...If I could pick a non-playable character, it would be Heidigger and Scarlett...I can't stand their laughing.) FFVIII- I have two choices: 1. Quistis (She's got the personality of a brick wall) 2. Selphie (I love her, but her Limits suck) FFIX- Amarant (Only time I ever used him was when I was forced to (i.e. Iifa Tree and against that book in Alexandria Castle) FFX- Wakka (He's just freakin dumb) FFT- Malak (He may have a stronger physical attack than his sister, but his magic isn't worth anything) -------------------- "The Master of Past, Present, and Future has returned." |

FFI-Black Belt (boring)
FFII/III-neven played FFIV-Edward (useless while playable) FFV-All the characters are what you make them, so I like all of them. For job classes, Berserker. FFVI-Umaro (might be decent for the Coliseum because he won't be stupid, but other than that not very useful) FFVII-Cid (personally, I don't like cursing, and have never done it in my entire life, and don't like smoking, and thus I don't like Cid) FFVIII-never played FFIX-Amarant (never used him) FFX-None, really. FFT-I liked all the characters and their special classes. For generic jobs, Squire. There is really no reason to use a generic Squire (Ramza's Squire is a special class that is superior to a standard Squire) beyond early Chapter 1. |

FF6: Sabin (I'm too lasy with working with the combos) FF7: Cait Sith (I'm not too good with slots) and Cid (I don't like smokers in my party) FF8: Zell FF9: Garnet (her magic and spells are junk compare to Elko's |

FFI - Black Belt. His stats and weapons are pure Bahamut dung.
FFIV - Edward. Same reason, and you don't even get the luxury of leveling him up a lot unless you're really obsessed. FFVI - Mog is the most useless, but I just outright dislike Locke for, well, being Locke. FFIX - Amarant. At least Garnet could do one thing right (healing your boys), but Amarant scores dead last in special techniques, and all the other physical attackers own him. Plus he's a jackass. FFI-III: Never played.
FFIV: Edward. Sure, he could heal. But so could half the characters in the game... and they did it better. Still a cool character though. FFV: Everyone. FFVI: How could I hate anyone from 6? They all had their uses and they were all decent characters. FFVII: Tifa. Her attacks sucked (even her Limit Break) and she was a pretty bland character. FFVIII: Does it really matter? All you needed in were GFs in this gaem anyways. But Irvine was a crappy character. FFIX: Armarant. Sure, you can Throw with him, but what'll that get you? A fairly decent attack and one less item? I'd rather sell it than waste it on him. -------------------- - Urza - Oddities - "It should probably have some kind of slogan by now!" |

Yeesh, it's about time I posted to this thread.
FFI - Red Mage. What's the point? He's a weaker Fighter, and can only use mediocre white and black spells. FFII - Umm....Any of the new characters right when you get them. I like them, but it's annoying to have to get them up to where everyone else is. FFIII - Haven't gotten very far in it. FFIV - Edward. Useless. Close second is Tellah; not enough MP. FFV - I like all of them. Well, except for Faris' accent. I was hoping she would get rid of it, but noooooo. FFVI - Emperor Gestahl. Annoying. FFVII - Barrett and Cait Sith. I NEVER use them. FFVIII - I never use Selphie. She's just....useless. FFIX - Brahne. I hate her. She's ugly. And mean. And evil. -------------------- "I sat alone and I didn't care, I sat two years in the same old chair, I saw three roads but didn't know, Which way to go-go-go" My Coco, stellastarr* |

This is going to be hard, since I am speaking negatively towards Final Fantasy, which I consider illegal, and find it very difficult to do, since I (in all honesty) LOVE Final Fantasy until the day I die, even if they become about teenage girls with very large breasts and really short shorts (*cough*FFx-2*cough*). Â But here goes.
FF1-All of them, there just wasn't enough character development. FF2-Haven't played it, looks to boring. FF3-So far, and I've been playing for a few hours, I hate all of them, because they just all look retarded (please forgive me, Square). FF4-Tellah, Porom, Palom, Cid, and Cecil FFV-Galuf-because he wore purple pajama pants FF6-None of them, they all rule!!!!!! FF7-Yuffie-only use is for obtaining MP Absorb Materia, then she sucks FF8-Squall(bad jacket.....) Irvine(Justin Timberlake with a gun) Selphie(i just hate her) FF9-Kuja(thong?, wnat the hell was Square smoking, because I want some) FF10-Tidus(again, the bad jacket...) FFx-2-From what I have seen, it looks like FFX-2 would be aimed more at (horny) teenage boys withou kazaa access, so when my internet connection fails, I may just buy this game. Thats all, happy hacking! Â Â Â Â Â Seraph |
