oh, did i say that outloud? good. truthfully, i didn't like him. i don't have a real valid reason, but i just didn't like his character. other than that, i think it's a matter of the character's fit to the storyline. if they don't make sense, i never use them or don't like them. so... Gogo: we all know the "pick your own attack" thing is cool. but come on, he didn't fit into the story at all. Umaro: at least this sasquatch made a little more sense than Gogo. But still, irrelevent to the story. Cait Sith: his affilation with the group... pfft. lame. and his attacks were even lamer. Quina: i like "her" personality and "her" attacks were decent too. but "she" just didn't fit in with the main conflict. a lot of the characters from Chrono Cross: does one actually need THAT many characters when only a select few are actually affiliated with the storyline [namely: The Vipers and the Deva Dragoons, Fargo, Serge, Kid, Harle, Lynx, maybe some others] The rest join for no real good reason whatsoever if i think of others, i'll edit -------------------- "When I turn the page The corner bends into the perfect dog ear As if the words knew I'd need them again But at the time, I didn't see it." ~"This Ain't a Surfin' Movie" - Minus the Bear |

FFVI: Gau. I have nothing against his character, but I HATE fighting on the veldt. It seems like a lot of work for little reward.
FFVII: Cait Sith and Yuffie. Both of them seem to do more harm than good to your group throughout the story. FFVIII: Squall. He may be the best character to actually use, but there were so many times I wanted to reach into the game and smack him a good one. FFIX: Amarant. I never really figured out how to make him do a signifigant amount of damage, but you don't really need to. I never really got into his character, either. FFX: Khimari. Good character, but it was kind of like a chore to get him experience in battles. Fortunately for him, it was easy in the battle system, so he didn't get neglected. -------------------- Hip-Hop QOTW: "Yeah, where I'ma start it at, look I'ma part of that Downtown Philly where it's realer than a heart attack It wasn't really that ill until the start of crack Now it's a body caught every night on the Almanac" "Game Theory" The Roots |

FF6 - Umaro and Gogo. I never use them, but I always get them. There is something wrong with me.
FF7 - Cait Sith. Useless in battle, only slightly peripheral to the storyline. And I hated Vincent when he got his limit break. Oh, and Tifa. She and her Triple D chest can go back to Midgar and stay there. FF8 - Rinoa. And her stupid dog. I felt sorry for Squall. If I were dating Rinoa, I'd be depressed and permenantly PMSing too. FF9 - Quina. Nice enough person, I guess (though I'd never want to be in his company for more than half an hour), but more hinder than help in a battle. -------------------- "Turd-cookies!...they're hot and soft, though..." I don't think I had any problems with any characters but one...I just didn't use a lot of characters. However, I just cannot stand Rikku of FFX. She's so obnoxious.

FF4: I liked most of the characters here, though Rosa, at times, was a bit transparent and predictable.
FF5: Didn't like Bartz very much...something about him. FF6: -- FF7: -- FF8: Rinoa tends to annoy me...she acts, a lot of the time, like an insecure 16 year old trying to be an adult. FF9: I didn't like Steiner very much, but I guess in all he wasn't really that bad. FF10: -- -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

Finally, a chance for me to vent! I seriously hope this doesn't turn into one of those "I hate you because you don't like my favorite character" things, though. But I digress.
FFI: None. The characters in FFI weren't really characters in a conventional sense, since the Light Warriors didn't have much of a background, and didn't have much text other than your personal yes or no answers. I will say that I didn't use the Black Belt or Red Mage very much. FFIV: None to speak of. I liked almost all of the characters, and those that I didn't, I could tolerate. FFV: Bartz, Rena, and Krile. As a matter of fact, I don't really understand how they could be considered characters at all. They had practically no personality, and what little inklings of development they did have stemmed from a cesspool of stereotype and nonsensical plot elements. Characters were the weakest point of FFV, in my opinion, and these three exemplify the steaming pile of festering trash that was character development in that game. FFVI: Locke. I didn't like him one bit. Never found him useful in combat. I know his character was well-developed, and it didn't veer too close to the gallant stereotype simply because he had a halfway decent backstory. But I just couldn't stand him. Don't ask me why. FFVII: Aeris. Probably my least favorite Final Fantasy character from any canonical Final Fantasy (that is, excluding MQ, where characters weren't really a factor anyway), I loathed Aeris. When she wasn't saccharine, she was just plain annoying, and her complete inability to cause any damage to her enemies didn't really help. Her Limits were decent, but that was it. For the sake of those who never made it through the game, I'll just say that I really enjoyed the plot twist near the middle... FFVIII: None, really. I actually thought most of the characters in FFVIII were kind of interesting. Sure, Squall and Rinoa were sort of annoying, but even they had their moments. FFIX: Steiner. Sure, he had some character development. Sure, he was a powerful physical attacker. But I, for one, thought he was a loser. I never was too partial to the self-righteous, delusional knight character, and Stiener exemplified the mold to the point of idiocy. Frankly, I would've rather gone through the game with Beatrix or Blank, both of whom I feel should have gotten a lot more screen time. FFX: Kimahri. A jack of all trades but a master of none, I found Kimahri quite useless in battle. I have heard stories of him becoming a successful mage or fighter, but I found that the characters who were actually supposed to become mages and fighters were much better at what they did. Kimahri's Blue Magic spells were pretty useless too, since only two or three were really helpful, and he could only use them in Overdrive. I didn't much like his character, either. FFT: None. Final Fantasy Tactics had a great plot, and while some of the characters were a little weak due to lack of screen time, they were all likeable personas, at least to me. There you have it. I hope I haven't offended anyone, but these are my honest opinions. -------------------- "I always have a quotation for everything - it saves original thinking." ~Dorothy L. Sayers "The truly remarkable thing about television is that it allows several million people to laugh at the same joke and still feel lonely." ~T.S. FF6: Locke (He has one of the worst abilities. Sure he's necessary to steal rare itmes, but his lack of strength or defense makes him more of a hindrance).
FF7: Cait Sith (I feel sorry for him.) FF8: Qusitis (The only reason I chose her was because I thought that she didn't have any personality. She had cool Limits, but she has the personality of a brick.) FF9: Amarant (I don't see his point in the story. I never used him unless I had no choice.) -------------------- "The Master of Past, Present, and Future has returned." |

FF1: no one.
FFIV: Edward, cause everytime i try to use a potion on him when hes weak, he runs away and hides! oh ya and hes a pansy. everyone else were ok. FFV: never played. FFVI: strago... you only need him for one part of the game and then after you do that hes useless. FFVII: everyone here seemed ok to me. FFVIII: squall, he was good but i hated his character, he had better character in kingdom hearts tho. rinoa is annoying sometimes. FFIX: oh man this one has the worst characters, steiner, he acted really retarded most of the time, he was strong in battle tho. garnet, i didnt like her character either. eiko, she was really annoying. and quina, IT was annoying and didnt have enough character. ya so my party was always zidane, vivi, freya, and amarant. FFX: didnt play far enough but the characters in the begining seemed ok to me. FFT: rafa and malak, they were useless and thier special attacks would miss like 95% of the time. -------------------- Why do kamakazi pilots wear helmets? |

Amarant 0WNZ you! so, nyah i have set up a list of characters who sucked. if their name appears on the list, that means they suck. Any questions? Plain and simple, those names listed below, yes, they suck. Everyone got that? These people are The Suck. Clear as day, this be Mookster's List o' Rejects. Edward Cid [Fantasy IV] Locke Edgar Umaro Strago Cloud Vincent Cait Sith i don't need a reason to not like them other than i don't like them. -------------------- Air force... if you ever join the militant wing, join the Air force Army = jockos Navy = seasick nerds Marines = show offs PeaceCorp = hippies AF is the way to go |

Time to ring up the 'ole Black List:
FF6 - Umaro, Gau, Gogo, Relm, Strago. All almost pointless and they all sucked. FF7 - Cait Sith (DIE! You stupid Cat as the Hat moogle impersonator!) FF8 - Selphie...she's just so annoying. FF9 - Amarant (Waste. Of. Space. Need I say more?) FF10 - Kimahri (When I first saw him I had high expectations. Now I realize he's nothing more than teh suck.) Ever notice how every FF (that I've played...) has some annoying girl in it? You got Relm, Yuffie, Selphie, Eiko, and then Rikku. I could stand Rikku though, alot more than the others. -------------------- The clouds ran away, opened up the sky And one by one I watched every constellation die And there I was frozen, standing in my backyard Face to face, eye to eye, staring at the last star I should've known, walked all the way home To find that she wasn't here, I'm still all alone -Atmosphere "Always Coming Back Home to You" |

7- I wasn't too fond of Aeris. I didn't like Cait Sith at first, but he's a cat on a big moogle. How can you resist?
8- I didn't like Irvine. He seemed out of place with the futuristic setting of FF8. 9. Eiko was pretty annoying, trying to win over Zidane. X. I didn't exactly like Yuna. Too clichéd. I had no real problem with the characters of the other FFs. -------------------- Lou: There's a couple of guys fighting down at the aquarium, Chief. Wiggum: Do they still sell those frozen bananas? IV: I loved this game, all and all. If I'd have to chose one though, I'd say Edward, cause he can be a panzy.
V: I didn't care two much for this game at all. Yea, it was ok, but I'm not to fond of the Job System. VI: Locke, hands down. The most worthless charecter. Relm after Locke, but the rest were fairly cool. VII: Been to long since I played this, but Cait Sith would probably be my vote. VIII: Irvine, just cause he's not as cool as anyone else. IX: What ever that Chef.. thing... is..... With the big tongue.... worthless charecter IMO. X: Never played. FF1: Thief, always died all the time to the point where I just said, forget it, restart.
FF2: Haven't finished. FF3: Haven't finished, but I guess the OnionKids. What kind of stupid name is that? FF4: Edward... what a lame ass woman of a man. Attacks were bad, Medicine command took up all my potions, and Sing was just plain stupid. FF5: Haven't finished, but I'm going with the Time Mage. (At least for now...) Too weak, his spells are all indirect. FF6: Relm. Control just wasn't effective enough. My party slaughtered the enemy before her turn came around again. FF7: Cait Sith! Not only can he get you're party all killed off (grr.... sorry, slightly irritating gaming experience) but he seemed so... dumb... FF8: Angelo... Damn ripoff of Interceptor. Interceptor would OWN Angelo anyday. Haven't played anything onwards. Sorry, I'm a college student who didn't get an allowance when he wasn't one. |

FF4 - In battle, Cid was extremely annoying. I also found Edge pretty weak (both his HP and defense were lacking and his offense was just barely good enough to be a front-row fighter), even in the front row. I would've put him in the back row but then he would've been completely useless.
FF5 - Reina got under my skin. I don't know why, but she was always knocking herself out or getting kidnapped or dying or whatever, and it got old very fast. In battle, I didn't like Dancers, Bards, or Chemists. Chemist would have been useful in early game, but you get them so late that they don't do much. FF6 - Locke, Setzer, and Gogo. Setzer in particular. I didn't like Slot, GP Toss wasted too much money, and his character was really annoying. Locke and Gogo were also weak/annoying/dumb. FF7 - CAIT SITH. STUPID STUPID CAT THING. I thought it was finally gone when the stupid temple fell on it, but they decided to bring another one in like two seconds later. Not only did it spoil the moment, but the damn thing had to follow me around for the rest of the game as well. FF8 - All the characters were annoying. Squall was a jerk, Rinoa was stupid, Selphie was hyper, Zell was hyper, Seifer was a rebel without a cause, Irvine was supposed to be this cool playa but always got cold feet, and Quistis was just bland and had no personality whatsoever. FF9 - Everyone's going to hate me, but I couldn't stand Vivi in battle. I loved his character, but in battle he just annoyed me because I always ran out of MP and his trance sucked. Dagger was the most annoying character because she was always so unsure of herself, and then she went
FF10 - Tidus' voice grated on me. "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?" "HEEEEEEEEEEY!" Even my sister was insulting him when she came in and watched me play for awhile. FFT - Any guest. They always do the exact thing that I didn't want them to do. -------------------- Hey, put the cellphone down for a while In the night there is something wild Can you hear it breathing? Of all the FF games that I ever played..... I have to say that I truly hated Cait Sith more than anyone else. Square usually at least gives the stupid characters a cool background story or a cool graphic of some sort....... Cait Sith was a huge, mis-shapened Mog doll with a CAT on his back. And after the Temple of the Ancients..... totally anti-climactic.

who do you think is the worst playable character in the history of final fantasy? i dont much like yuffie, bartz, or tidus, but i think my least favorite of all time is selphie. she was just the most annoying character in existence. not only that, her attacks sucked and she had really weird-looking hair, the way it curled up like that. i couldnt bear to play as her, and i avoid doing so constantly.
if anyone says cid highwind is the worst FF character, i will come and find them in the night, gag them, bring them upstate to a secluded spot in the catskills, tie them to a tree and leave them for dead. alright everyone, go. -------------------- You watch the world exploding every single night Dancing in the sun, a newborn in the light Say goodbye to gravity and say goodbye to death Hello to eternity and live for every breath Your time will come... |

FF4: Tella. Weak physically, and can't cast any good spells unless his MP is full.
FF5: System prevents differentiation of abilities, so Galuf. Through the entire beginning, he was this goofy crazy old man with no purpose. FF6: Based on abilities, Celes, because after the battle with TunnelArmor, Runic is next to useless. FF7: Cait Sith. Two limits, and pathetic ones too. Plus he's just too stupid looking and goofy to seem powerful enough. FF8: Rinoa. That dog thing was way too unreliable. FF9: Nobody! They're all cool! But, if I had to pick someone, I choose the people who don't count: Cinna, Blank, and Marcus. Weaklings compared to everyone else. Ahh yes...
FF4-Tellah, sure he kicks ass, but he's slow and can't take a hit...let's not forget 90 MP!!! I hate that guy. FF5-Kururu (Cara) Â A little girl...she was so cute-looking it was horrifying. FF6-Strago...old man, acts young, can't do squat. Â However once you spend 51 hrs getting his lores, he might be useful. FF7-Tifa. Â I worry about Tifa, with a rack like that doing flips and somersaults, she's gonna break her back. FF8-...hard choice, but I got to say Irvine. Â A shameless 'ladies man' that is a complete wuss. Â Really suprising. Â (I'm being sarcastic for you knowledge.) FF9-Quina! the is blue magic is cool, but the new system of getting it really sucks. FF10-Lulu. Â C'mon square! Â THat's way to much rack...and she bends over constatly! Â FOR SHAME! Â Besides, she got weak really fast. -------------------- Really Random Quote of the Day: "Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war." - Richard M. FF1...probably a Thief.
I haven't played either FF2 or 3 FF4, Edge. He was just annoying. I expect my ninjas to be more powerful than he was, and his "Sneak" skill has about a .000001% chance of succeeding. FF5, Lenna. "Oh, I'll just walk through a patch of horrible poisonous flowers to save the dragon when I could just hack them aside with my sword" FF6, Gogo. I just never found much use in him/her. It was nice that it knew all the spells of the rest of the characters in your active party, but all the stats were dumbed down so much. FF7, Cait Sith. Most annoying character ever. I wanted to push it off the airship. FF8, Squall, Rinoa, Zell. I hated them so very, very much. At least Quistis was cool, Selphie had a weird dance, and Irvine had personality. FF9, I think I really liked all the playable characters. Thus, I will choose Kuja, because his thong makes me cringe. FFX, Tidus. He is the reason why I don't want to play through that game again. FFT, Dycedarg. I hated him, but in a good way, because he was so frustrating to the plot. He was a well-done character but I couldn't stand him. -------------------- Hey, put the cellphone down for a while In the night there is something wild Can you hear it breathing?
