I just started an FFT game recently and I had all these cool classes that I used to make back when I played and then I thought... man... This team always wrecked but I want a change, So I'm asking you if you ever tried to beat the game with a full team of monks (I bought someone with huge Faith so It'll be 4 Monks 1 Priest)

By the later stages of the game, my Ramza Monk was insane enough to take on most battles by himself.
Monks are very, very powerful. Set 'em loose, let 'em yell their guts out, and start pounding stuff from afar. Piece of cake. -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

I've tried doing that...Monks own everything. I used 3 generic monks, 1 Ramza-monk and 1 Reis-Monk. Ramza would yell his heart out while the other 4 beat the guts out of the opponent if they are random. With Altima, it was just a concerted series of Hasted wave fists. Enough to destroy any opponent in one barrage, because the generic monks would do 400-500 damage with one punch (they had AttackUP from Geomancer) and Reis would do nearly 800 due to her inflated PA from Dragoner. Ramza...well, he screamed and screamed until it was 10 turns Ramza, 1 turn Altima (its possible because monks can revive each other...). Then Ramza hits 999 each time. Altima dead.
Only problem I found with monks is that they got really bad defense, especially vs ranged attacks like arrows or bullets. Magic damage can be nullified by using a mediator to lower their Faith to 3, which reduces enemies' magic to 3% effectiveness, but also doesnt permit you to buff them using magic. Choose carefully... -------------------- --CounterStriker as much as FF (x)-er-- Reis owns all! Possibly more deadly than Orlandu at lvl 99. Yes, I got social skills of a rock. And I'm proud of it. Damn straight, I don't really trust people, even though I'm human myself. Even I don't trust myself sometimes. Gah! this is getting nowhere. |

Monks quite simply OWN......anything.......
The game is pretty much over as soon as you reach Knight Lv. 2 |

Unquestionably an all-Monk team would obliterate everything in it's way, but I have too much love for a variety of different classes with a variety of different skills to pursue it. Granted, different momks with many, many different abilities would fill that gap, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Plus I don't like playing Ramza without a sword-type weapon. Not that there's anything wrong with it by any means but I just feel funny not having him equipped with a sword, ninja sword, katana, or knight sword throughout the game.

Yeah I'm really starting to kill anything there. I yell out my Priest to the maximum and hit Accumulate with all the monks til monsters reach me. 1-shotting most. and priest always has his CT up to the max. My end-game team might not be this though, I'm planning on Orlandu, Beowolf(the status attack dmg secret character), Agrias or Cloud (Always wanted to try out his final limit) and whatever.

Pretty funny how I ended up planning all my team and leveling classes... I ended up unlocking classes i never thought of and testing them now, like Calculator (REALLY tricky one) and Dancer

change those monks to ninja with punch art secondary, then they get more speed, attack, 2 hits, and they can wear more stat boosting clothes, and higher movement and higher health. plus better evade.
While a full monk team would be ok it wouldnt be that great. it would have many weakness and i can think of many other scc(strait character class) teams that would rip it apart.
