Ok heres a good one if you had to pick your perfect party for ff6 who would it consist of? For me i'd have to say Sabin (leader) Blitzes all the way and in my opinion hes the strongest char in the game. Terra main magician just make sure she knows quick and she can dominate in a sticky situation. Mog depending on how you use him he is Incredibly helpful! if you use the right dance at the right spot he can't lose plus who else can muster up to his lancing skills? Edgar maybe nahhhhh Mog is the True lance user of ff6 give him dragoon boots and hes a dancing dragoon :E and last but not least Gogo one of the most useful chars in the game, not only can he mimic strong attacks like bum rush and esper castings he can have any skill. give him the merit award relic and a genji glove he whups all over the place if he has magic he has everyone in your partys magic. with the merit award he can equip a katana to use swd techs and fill the last slot with tools or blitz and he is one of the most powerful people in the char roster! (wouldn't it be cool if he could mimic or have the morph command)

Thats my Perfect party, tell me what you guys think cuz when i like someone i don't usually check out the other chars

If I could have anyone in my party.. hmm...

General Leo - he's the best, you know it
Omni-Shadow - yessssssssssssss
Umaro - being able to control him would be nice :-P
Celes - always in my teams!

But that's impossible.. so here's what I usually use:

Shadow - my strongest character, he is badass, do not underestimate him with a Gauntlet, a dagger, and a hero ring
Celes - always!
Locke - well, Celes is there, this fits

The fourth usually changes between Sabin for power, Terra for magic support, or Umaro because I heart Umaro.

I had a really great party that consisted of:

Shadow
Setzer
Sabin
Celes

We kicked the final Kefka's but in no time. Shadow was the huge contributor using his throw command. I really beefed Shadow up. He was one of my main party members during those last few parts. Same with Setzer.

Whee, I love fun topics like this.  Anyway, here goes...

Terra - The quintessential spellcaster.  Though I typically give all the spells to each of my main party members, Terra's usually the expert of the lot.  Equipping her with the Gem Box and Economizer Relics make her a magical powerhouse.  Two immediate castings of Ultima is enough to take out any boss in the game in a few rounds.  Her ability to equip heavier armor and shields is a bonus too; unlike many Final Fantasy mages, she'll usually survive a tough fight.  Though her spellcasting abilities aren't much more powerful than Celes', her special ability is better, and that's probably why I'd choose her over the Magitek general.  Of course, the green hair factors in quite a bit, too.

Shadow - A consistent and deadly attacking phenom.  Shadow's "Throw" ability ensures that he can deal an automatic 9,999 HP damage every round, with no exceptions.  (Even before the WoR!)  A few common weapons (particularly the Heal Rod and Imp Halberd), while not particularly useful as actual equipment, grant him this unique bonus when thrown.  This is a HUGE advantage in the beginning of the game, and his consistency makes him a keeper later on, especially since Imp Halberds are freely given after defeating a Tyranosaur.  Interceptor's surprise counters are a plus, too.

Sabin - A big, heavy-duty powerhouse.  Blitz is fantastic (and completely free of any MP cost); Bum Rush can make short work of single villains.  He's also a favorite for the Genji Glove/Offering combo, since his attacking power is already off the charts.  He can also function as a secondary healer in a pinch, since his magical ability isn't half bad, considering his general strategies.  His lack of proficiency for heavy armor means he tends to die once in a while, but a Muscle Belt solves that problem quite nicely.

Mog - No matter what anyone else says, Mog is an absolute beast.  Equipping the Pearl Lance or Aura Lance makes him one tough customer, and Dance is surprisingly useful early on (and even later on, if you got the Water Rondo).  His main advantage comes as a secondary spellcaster, particularly because the Snow Muffler armor means he can survive anything, and I mean anything  the opposition throws at him, be it physical, magical, or otherwise.  The Ribbon is a good Relic to put on him, as this only augments his seeming invulnerability with complete immunity to status effects.

There you have it, my personal perfect party.  It's gotten me through the game with little to no problem.

Gogo-He could do ANYTHING

Gogo is actually an it but i just refer to it as a him, sorry if this insignificant detail that i was probably the only one to notice confused anyone

I've actually got a name for mine...The Bro's and Co.

Sabin:  He's a Freakin' powerhouse dammit!  What more could you possibly need beyond Bum Rush?  Offering and Genji Glove just add insult to injury.

Edgar:  Sky Anchor is a good deal, give him either Excalibur, Pearl lance, or Aura Lance, and watch him terrorize with Running shoes and Ribbon

Locke:  I'm a wasteful man, and he's got the goods(well, sorta') plus he's got long range weapons that hurt.  Thief Gloves and Running Shoes help.

Terra:  Morph and Merton.(Hey!  M&M!  I made a funny...)
Seriously, though, giving her...Rune sword, I believe, it strengthen's magic power... Golden Hairpin and any magic stat. plus item and it's hasta la vista!

Why do you think they limit your ability to use him during the World of Balance?  He has the ability to single-handedly defeat major enemies early on.  The Atma Weapon is a breeze with the Throwing master at your side.

I'd also add that I often use Edgar (usually in Mog's place), since his slightly lower defensive capabilities are made up for by a fantastic special ability and better attacking punch.

I, for one, am surprised at the number of people who use Locke in their party.  Although I can see him as a jack-of-all-trades, I never bothered to use him, mostly because his versatility doesn't quite make up for his lack of heavy armor and/or decent attacking power, and Steal misses way too often.

Here's my crew:

Locke-I give him two good swords and the offering, and a full assortment of grey and white spells, so he can help out Celes if she needs it.

Celes- I only use her over Terra because you get to control her longer, so she usually winds up with more spell choices. I give her as much white and black as possible and the econimzer, and go nuts with Ultima.

Sabin- Bum rush, and a whole bunch of white spells just in case.

Shadow- Throwing things, and black spells to help out if the enemy has a weakness.

Terra (Tina.. I've gotten used to calling her that because it's cuter @_@), Celes, Locke, and either Edgar or Relm. I choose them because I like their personalities. Maybe that's not very stratigic ^^;;;

All-rounder party:
Sabin, Celes, Strago and Terra.
Fighter Party:
Shadow, Sabin, Cyan, Edgar
Unpredictable party:
Setzer, Locke, Umaro and Gogo
Whoop-ass Party:
Shadow, Terra, Edgar, Sabin.

The reason why the last is my favourite is the damage that they can perform, plus there individual statistics and abilities. Shadow could Throw and that always kicked ass, Terra could Morph, and then it was all over for the bad guys, Edgar could use most of the heavy armor + good magic stats + Tools, so he was extremely versatile, and Sabin because with Genji Glove, Offering and 2 Tiger Fangs (or 2 Dragon Claws, or 1 of each), he was a absolute powerhouse. This team when leveled up and equipped properly, have no trouble throughout the game, and I dare say that with equipment that boosts Evade%, they are nearly unhittable too. Bye now.

Regroovinator.

Yeah, it has to do with how you use your people, and how long you've played with them. My death party was Celes, Locke, Terra, and Edgar. You can probably have anybody in that party, really, because I was out poaching dinosaurs in the WoR. Never thought I would find Tyrannosaur pincer attacks so fun.

Celes - Had her for a while. Genji Glove with Excalibur and Scimitar. Magic user who could kick butt with weapons.

Locke - I dunno. Just kinda' brought him along. But he's a pretty good magic user, and a pretty good fighter. Just well-rounded, really. I just brought him along to match up with Celes.  :p

Terra - Genji Glove and Offering: Drainer Sword and Atma Weapon. The more she get's hurt, the more the enemies too. Another magic user who could kick butt with weapons.

Edgar - Tools, what else.

Shadow - Beaft him up to level 99. After equiping him with gengiglove and offerring it doen't matter who else you use.

But i would go with,

Setzer - He's the coolest.

Terra - Magic always hurts.

Sabin or Edgar - whoever.

Locke - Start with spells like haste x-attack+illuma&ragnarak by cheat codes (what are you looking at?  >_> ) or just two wing edges and Quick if possible
(most times deals physical)

Terra - mostly using Yin-yang spells (gray) exept when morph is on

Strago - Use Blue magic, white magic, and black magic, as well as strong physical attack (why not?)
(most time deals with magic attacks)

Cyan - kinda like Assasin, Ultimate spells and charge move for quick kills
(most time deals with powerful physical and magic attacks when some a battle must over really fast).

Celes- Since you have her for so much of the game, particularly in the WoR, she gets real beefed up after a while. I hook her up with the genji glove, the offering, atma weapon and illumina, and she turns into a real offensive monster, especially in the colloseum.

Terra- I just really like Terra. She IS the main character for half the game, and she's basically a celes clone, only i like terra more. to be honest, the first time through, i never used her in the WoR, but every time after that, i concentrate on building her up more. shes just a swingin chick.

Locke- I just like him. somewhat average, but if you equip him well, especially when he has a merit award on, hes pretty damn cool.

Setzer- My favorite character of all time. hes just cool. give him the fixed dice, roll a good one, and he does an obscene amount of damage. give him an offering and a genji glove, and with a little luck, he will kill the final boss in one round.

sometimes i use gogo when im high.

...i think its fairly obvious by now that i prefer force much more than magic. its just more exciting that way.

You have to have:

Sabin: Levels the fastest and is probably the strongest in the end.

Edger: For Air Anchor for non-bosses

Mog: Moogle Charm and strong magic attacks

Terra: Morph doubles attack, need I say more???

Gogo: give it magic, blitz, and tool; used for big damage (e.g. ultima, bum rush, drill and chainsaw)

Terra: give her gem box and economizer; cast the big magics and heal people

Shadow: useful for throwing some swords you don't use

Mog: give him the crusader esper; have him use his esper and then start dancin'

Don't worry about it mate I think it sucks how you can't have both cheat away. Illuinma has a pretty sweet graphic.
