IIRC, only Ramza can learn Ultima, and he does so by being hit by it from....somebody. I don't remember who exactly. I think it was Altima or something. Reagrdless, I'm quite sure you fight it in the Deep Dungeon, so you don't have to worry about passing it up in Chapter 2 or 3. I'm sure Hamedo or another member will post later with the specifics, but this should tie you over until then.

Or I can help you. smile.gif Caesar is right so far: you do need to be hit by it. The enemies that cast it are the Assassins and the Ultima Demons. Very rarely do the Demons cast it, so the Assassins are your best bet. Be sure to have the N-Kai bracelet equipped on Ramza. Oh, the only other character that can learn it besides Ramza is Alma.

You know. I think you're a very special unit.

From my own experience, the battle where it's easiest done is at the Limberry castle Gates : Ramza is standing alone near surrounded, so the assassins have only him to target at first.

Be sure to prevent him from Death and Stop status (a Judo Outfit and Jade Armlet should do the trick). Also, bring along a powerful mage with Math Skill, to take care of the Apandas. Actually, two of them would be nice, since with the setting above, Ramza will be vulnerable to the Charm status from Allure (I prefer to be protected from Stop, because it's far more tedious to lift than Charm). Anyway, if you're sufficiently protected from physical attacks (Blade Grasp with a Brave of 100 comes to mind), and when the Apandas are disposed of, you're almost certain that one of the assassins will use Ultima on you.

Mr. Thou is right... the battle at the gates of Limberry Castle is the best place to learn it. However, there is no guarantee, or high chance of, getting Ultima cast on you. I have got it on the first try a few games.... and others I've had to replay the battle 8 ir 9 times before I saw it, only to have it cast on someone OTHER THAN Ramza. pinch.gif Mostly, the assasins charm or just kill flat out, and the apandas cast Bio spells.

Save before any battle with the assassins, Also Leveling your characters up high enough may prevent them from dying. if you dont suceed at getting it on the first time Hold "Start, Select, R1, and L1" to restart
