Sorry there are no other options. No dodging the bullet here! No grey area! I know a lot of people think they're worthless for their damage but I thought they were awesome. I nicknamed the class "Agrias Jr." because of the similarity of attack types. I found the range to overcome the low damage, and the status effects made them very good in many situations. It seemed like they came through with a stop or a petrify exactly when I needed it every single time! It took me awhile to warm up to Agrias Jr.'s but I've had so much fun playing them that I can't imagine why more people don't!

I too loved the Geomancer class. Although I never have one in my party (I disagree with what they where tongue.gif ), I always have one of my characters equips it as a second job. I also agree that the range and number of people you can attack outweighs the minor damage it deals. I mean, if you can deal with the Dancer's Wiznaibus, you'd be happy to have the Geomancer's skills. I also like it when the enemies are hit with the status effects, especially Carve Model's Petrify.

I think the geomancers are one of the most underrated jobs of all time. I find that at the end of the game, my geomancers have around 19 PA and MA. That means they can use just about any magic effectively and do very nice physical damage to boot. I find that they don't do wussy damage at all. 150-200 damage is not chump change when you consider that you can probably hit the enemy twice before it gets to you. Add in the fact that they can equip shields and you have got some serious butt-kicking potential.

I used Geomancers some of the time. It was a third-tier Monk class, so I decided to check him/her out. It was a nice class to have, a class that could use Magic with Status effect changes and decent amount of damage is OK in my book. To say that the class was one of my main characters...no, I never used him/her constantly.

You know. I think you're a very special unit.

A Geomancer with any Magic Skill (or Math Skill) is a nice force on the battlefield. Slap in Magic Attack Up or Attack Up and you're in for either powerful long ranged attack or close range attack.

On another note, the Geomancer is the class getting every bit of advantage from its best equipment :
Rune Blade (highest attack for a Sword and MA+2)
Aegis Shield or Escutcheon 2 (I prefer the first one, for the MA+1 boost)
Flash Hat (MA and SP +1)
Robe of Lords (PA+2 and MA+1, and Auto Protect and Shell)
Genji Gauntlet (PA and MA + 2)

With this setup, you get a nifty MA +6/7, PA +4 and SP +1, and Auto Protect and Auto Shell. Throw in Abandon with the Escutcheon 2 and you're done. Since Geomancy is factored in MA and PA, this is the best setup ever for the class, and one of my personal favourites.
