I'm getting two kittens once my boyfriend moves into his new apartment, and I haven't decided on names for them. I'd like to hear some suggestions from people here. Think of it as a contest! If you win, I use the name you suggested! :-D
Anyway, here are the suggestions that have made it past Peter so far: Valmont and Villefort Dumas and Hugo The Grand Inquisitor and His Holiness the Pope Pete and Repeat Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Luna and Artemis (but probably only if I get a white cat and a black one) Numine and (don't have one to go with it; numine means "divine will") Heresy and Blasphemy I'm not planning on naming them after Final Fantasy player characters, so don't suggest those. ^_^() -------------------- Veni, vidi, dormivi. |

I just want to also suggest, if you aren't doing this already, that you should adopt from an animal shelter. There are many cute kittens there that need homes. :-)

They have the added bonus of only giving out pets that have already been spayed/neutered. Denise, your suggestions have been the best I've gotten from anyone so far. Kiku. For some reason, it strikes me as a very nice kitten/cat name. And it's also Japanese for Chrysanthemum or however you silly Americans spell the name of that flower. Kinda like 'Sakura', but then different.

Unfortunatly my mom and sister got a kitten last year...I hate cats. They are so unloving and only care about themselves, nothing like a dog. Ok anyways off the soap box all I can think of for names is
Peepers and Ozzie. The reason for those was that Peepers is the cats name and Ozzie was my dogs name before he died last year. This is a thread about cat names, not about how much you like dogs better >_> And they're hardly loving when they're trying to bite you/bark at you just for walking by the road across from the house they're at, anyway. Cats and dogs are like people in that respect; there are good ones and bad ones.

I don't see the point in naming a cat. They don't respond when you call it. My mom got a cat a while ago and named it (I have absolutely no idea what that name is), but everyone but me still just calls it "kitty."
Anyways, to go with "Numine," you could name the other one what "Random," "Chance," "Defiance," etc, is in that same language. What is the gender combination you are considering? My boyfriend's cat had a calico kitten a few weeks ago that still doesn't have a name, though I suggested names left and right. If anyone can come up with a good name for a female calico kitten feel free to message me.

we had 2 cats a while ago -- we named them moses and amos. my current cat is named "preciosa," which is spanish for the obvious. but i can't think of anything good to pair it up with.

I like your suggestion for "chance" to go with "divine will"; that would make the kitties Numine and Fortuna. I'm hoping to get a boy and a girl (and avoid two boys at all costs). My cat's name was Skylar. Sadly, she got her collar stuck on a bush and died this morning. It was very sad with my younger sister finding her and all.
