You bring up a good point, Silverlance (although the crystal theme wasn't in FF8 either if I remember correctly). FF4 does deserve a sequel/prequel if any of them do. I personally would also like know what happened in FF6's world, like
Possible spoilers: highlight to view Actually, I think it would be interesting to expand a little on Shadow/Clyde's backstory and perhaps Terra's and Celes' past within the Empire among other things.did the planet ever recover? How was Terra able to adjust to a world without magic? Did Locke and Celes ever confess their love for each other? Did Sabin return to Figaro or run off again? Did Relm ever find out the truth about Shadow? Did the Espers really disappear without a trace? It's too bad Square seems to forget about the games that got them where they are today. Then again, there's always the chance that adding to those stories will leave us with more questions than answers. Now that I think about it, apparently Amano joined Sakaguchi's new Mist Walker company, so does that mean he left Square all together too? If that's the case then it would mean Square could no longer use his characters without permission which would explain why FF1 through FF6 & FF9 aren't getting much attention from the company...except for those GBA remakes of 1 and 2. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. pretty...weird...they keep on putting in the prequels it's better if they remake FF7 since they didn't finish the game...cause some stuff is missing from it...

Quote (Locke_Cole @ 18th September 2004 09:56) Square Enix thinks FF7 is good for some reason Hmm, I wonder why? No seriously, FF7 = bad Bad Soundtrack, the graphics were half-assed, the plot line was shiit, the gameplay was boring... WHERE do you see the good in the game??? WHERE The answer: The game sucked... and Square has the wierd way of thinking it was good... cuz their FF team has their heads up their asses right now... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() EDIT: about the above post, uh what was left out? and is there somewhere on the internet to find this missing stuff? Quote (Kresin @ 1st October 2004 20:23) i dont really pay attention to techno music [no offence anyone] but to me its just background music for games. It can be quite cool, theres no doubt. But unless im playing a video game, im not listening to techno. Since when does FF VII have much Techno in it... I can't remember more than a select few songs that have techno in them, and the ones that do have it don't have much of it. I have the soundtrack and listen to it all of the time and I don't remember hearing hardly anything other than Orchestra music. And I didn't find anywhere where Locke Cole said he thought that it was made for PS2. Don't get me wrong, I loved FF VII so don't think I'm ttrying to pick on you for liking it. No, he never said it was for PS2, but hes saying the graffics arent good enough. Im saying they couldnt pull off PS2 graffics back then.

I'd rather they expanded on the FFT story, but only if they didn't ruin the fragile and complex structure that the original had created. Nothing like a sequel to ruin a game, but if you do it right, you can consider it an "extra arm".
FF7 deserves a lot of the credit it gets, but it overshadows games like FFT, which are better in many aspects. Bah..... *head explodes* -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |

Personally I'd be a whole helluvalot happier if they just 'remastered' FFVII. I mean, it is an incredible game as is. But give it some PS2 graphics and a full symphony soundtrack and *BAM!*, instant market PWNage.

i completely agree with silverlance, i would rather prefere a true sequel for ff4. not only cause of its perfect story plot and rich characters, cause also it was a very short game to bust through and had an open ending.
most of the time i was leveling characters....it was a absolutely "must" in ff4. however, i would like to see ff6 continued as well.....sort of. but without kefka it doesn't make sense to me though. ![]() the dirge of cerberus seem to be only an actionshooter spin off with some nice graphics...if the story is good i may look at it maybe. advent childrends looks awesome! i hope the story is good as well. ![]() This post has been edited by MacBest on 14th December 2004 16:01 |

Based on what happened with X-2, I'd prefer they not make any sequels to any of their games. My friend now uses it as a $80 coster, and I would do the same. Advent of Children looks good, I just hope they don't ruin it. The other two I don't care for. The Turks? Who cares really. Vincent, interesting. But isn't that game a first-person shooter or something like that? That's the impression I got from the screenshots anyway. If they just remade FF7 with improved graphics (like with Origins) I'd be a happy camper. As long as it doesn't have annoying load times like with the FFV and VI on PSX. And, was it just my version, or did everyone's FFVI on Anthologies lag in battle?
Silverlance, I completely agree with what you said about the crystal thing. It was all about the elements in some form which to me is what made it so unique from other RPGs. Earth, Fire, Water, Wind. Period. None of this holy, dark or whatever all these newer games have. Square Enix is probably trying to target the newer audience of players, who only care about how flashy the game looks. That's my opinion anyway.
