Well, i'm starting a little mini project to hack the rom for my own sick twisted amusement, but i'll probably end up sharing when i'm done. The whole thing started when I imagined an FF6 character using a baseball bat in combat and... yeah. So, anyway, I was wondering if anyone could refer me to any tools or nifty guides to hacking. I already got the utilities off CoN, btw.

I don't really have a program yet. S'why i'm asking for links to programs/tutorials/guides etc. All I have right now is the stuff I got off CoN. But I really want to learn.

Try to search with Google. Also go here: http://www.clomax.emuita.it/downloads/patc...i_programmi.htm. Search "Editor Esadecimali" and download Hexworkshop 3.11. I dunno if this program will work correctly...if it doesn't work, try to search the 4.2 version....
Good luck! biggrin.gif

I use XVI32. It's a very simple Hex Editor. Easy to use, and very effective. Some tools I use are Lord J's FF3ME, and Terii Senshi's (www.rpglegion.com) FF3SE. As for documents containing data for hacking, try out http://www.rpglegion.com/ff6/hack/ff3info.txt and Master ZED's site, http://masterzed.cavesofnarshe.com/ff3.html. This should give you a great deal of info. Oh, and when you're ready to make that baseball bat, you can change an existing sword image by going to my favorite address in the ROM, $133B00, in 3bpp format. I suggest using Tile Layer Pro for this. If you have any more questions, feel free to contact me via AIM and I'll see what I can do.
