Time for topic revivacation.
Argh, I was working on my Magic Knight untill my computer got a virus, and then Future Shop fixed it, yada yada yada. So I guess i'll try a hunter challenge, we'll see how it works out... Did anyone try a SCCC on FF5A? This post has been edited by Dragon King on 24th December 2006 20:36 -------------------- Kel'Thuzad: She is persistent. Reminds me of you, death knight. for an GBA emulator I'm using virtualboy Collector's Edition.
But I have yet to find the cheats for an SCC or an SSCC. I was actually about to revive the thread for the same purpose. Hunter is fun, after you're done you'll be really good at using items. I've had no progress in dragoon, because I've been mastering all the classes in Gil's cave on FFVA, been a really long time since i've had so many classes and characters. -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

I had to restart since I have only been using save states, so I got stuck at the Lobster Boss. I got decently far, but hit a snag, whats a good way to kill Shiva as a hunter? I know it's optional but meh.

Quote kill Shiva as a hunter? I know it's optional but meh. I killed Shiva after liquid flame, fight him until he drops a fire bow. Oh and make sure to master the hunter early, go out and fight some bandersnatches. X-fight helps a lot. Its going to make your fights easier. -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

For those of us who have the advance game and don't want to cheat:

Hey all, so I've beaten V around eight or so times. Okay... now I want an SCC - although I'm not confident at having to constantly level and I want to do one on the Advance version of the game. So I need the thingy to have all jobs. So I'd rather do an easy one - any suggestions?

You can either do freelancers until you get the job you're searching for, or you can input a gameshark/AR code to give you all jobs. This works especially well if you're playing on an emulator. I don't have the code with me, but one for all jobs on the advanced version DOES exist, just do some hunting on the internet to find it.
I wouldn't expect a tremendous amount of leveling in an SCC unless its a particularly difficult one (thief, white mage, or berserker). Mostly, its just going to require some planning ahead. Figure out what strategies work for your team, and what sort of equipment they might require. Wall rings are a big part of black mage and mystic knight strategies, for instance. Now, don't try a berserker SCC, at least not as your first SCC. -------------------- Oh sure, I don't have to get kicked in the junk to activate it, but I like it anyway. -- Thief commenting on the difference between Throw and Blue Magic. |

I'm leaning toward Hunter although Hunters are overpowered in this game so it might be too easy. Ah, what the hell? It is my first so... *searches on the internet*

Don't let the fact that a class is too good discourage you from doing one. Even the easy ones can be challenging at times (Byblos, for instance), but even if they're not, it's still fun to do. Heck, I did Dragoon, Mystic Knight, and Black Wizard SCC's just for the fun of it. They're really amusing.
And yea, don't try Berserkers. It's EXTREMELY frustrating to do. Seriously. Every boss is a battle against your wits. Sol Cannon, Sandworm, and others nearly unbeatable. Luck is all it takes. And patience. And some knowledge of some items. ![]() -------------------- Is PJ |

I started it with Warrior. If I am going to do all the SCC's I think I will start with the top of the list and work my way down.

BW is a really fun one. Just make sure you buy lots of rods and the elemental rings. Flame Rings, Fire Rods, and Fire magic = instant win. Wonder rod is a beast with BW, too, because it boosts every spell he can use. There are some tough battles still, though. Archeoavis's last form comes to mind.

Hey, it's not as pure as some of the SCC challenges you talk about... but what about the potential for each character to have only one job, but a different job each? Because I play on my gamecube and gba (i have the actualy FFVA cart), I think I would get bored trying to lvl characters all of one job. Is there some other way of describing a game like that?

how do you make it so that you only have one character in battle like that?

Cloud_Strife510 has a way of cutting out parts of the screenshots he takes during his playthrough in the FF5 rom, that arent really necessary and/or take up extra space. He played around with the bottom menu and shrunk it.

He played around with the bottom menu and shrunk it. I couldn't have said it better myself. but this will be the first time I'll explain officially what i do to my screenshots if a tech is abbreviated I'll respell it to where the whole word is shown. In battle I'll raise the bottom bar up to underline the top name, And occasionally i'll copy floor tiles and paste them over the permanently deceased characters. And sometimes for humor I'll ad speech boxes. takes about 30 seconds in Ms paint. Edit forgot that I was wearing armor, Speed boost from no armor gave me the win, still ended up gaining two levels, but that was just the cherry on top. Pretty easy fight. Bolt, Bolt, Bolt. Mad props indeed then.
![]() Although... I was kind of hoping that there was actually a way to edit out unused characters mid-game, even if it was like a cheat code or something. Oh well... I'm thinking about a mystic knight SCCC, are those generally easy? -------------------- If internal struggles were as enjoyable and glamorous as the self conflicted wars within video game characters, we would all be statues, reveling in perpetual self war. -Me Play me on Rock Band 2, GH-WT, or any other Xbox GH! Mystic Knight would be pretty easy, especially since you get all-positively high stat boosts and !Spellblade is the butter of the job. THe only downside is you are limited to attacking one target (except for Magic Lamp) at a time.

well are you doing a
single class challenge or a Solo Single Class Challenge/ Single Character Class Challenge Galecats were tough for me at first in my Hunter SSCC so I just ran away from them and moved on. Quote I'm thinking about a mystic knight SCCC, are those generally easy? SCCCs/SSCCs generally aren't easy, but that's what makes them fun. after doing SSCCs though i went back and played a regular game and it was exceptionally easy. you'll just eventually get the hang of it. -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

Well actually, you can go into the ROM with a tile editor and change all the other characters to pure transparency. It'd be easy to do and I'd gladly do it if I could find a fresh copy of the ROM somewhere to make a patch off of. Mine isn't quite clean anymore.

Yeah, Berserker are so bloody powerful - suppose it teaches you to pay attention with what you equip. Not that I don't pay attention as it is, but it's very important in any SCC I'd think to know the weapons avaliable and what you should be equiping for battles. But if you can pass V in a Berserker SCC it makes me think... is V really that easy?
