I feel like doing a challenge again, but idk if I wanna continue to do SCCs or if I should try it with just one person. I've always wanted to do an SCC with every class...but on the other hand, I feel like using one person.

Um...I think I might do just something easy to occupy my time. Like...a Chemist SCC or something easy like that (or Knight).

Dragon king I'm curous as to how that happened, is it a cheat or what, and does he have butz or galuf's sprite on the world map?

Well in my game i just left val castle to go to hyruu mountain., I wonder how the fight with dragon grass will be this time, i don't have any multi-hit techniques, or anything for the dragoon that can cast doom. this'll be interesting. Might experiment with bonemail.

Edit
Caesar you might end up like me and find out that SSCC's are a lot more entertaining than an SCC, although I have yet to beat the final battle it has been fun. Later I'll probably end up leveling all the SSCC's I've done to level 90ish and try to take on the final battle, because none so far the HP to survive Comet(Although I did beat the tree in my Ninja game). Chemist SSCC would probably be the easiest, also could probably defeat X-death rather easily compared to all the other classes.

I only have the 3 cheats so people in slot 2 3 and 4 stay dead.
And i haven't tried the sprite yet.

I beat Byblos, he was very easy. I'm going to level up and try to defeat Ramuh. Does Mage Masher work on him, i remember reading up a post here that said it did or didn't

Cloud, NED should only use Meteo if only one section is remaining. Whenever I fight him, I have all 4 members focus on one part until it's destroyed, and then the same for a second part. For the last two, I attack them equally, sometimes just one person on each of the two parts with the other two healing, if need be (and I did need to with Black Magi). You don't suffer as much that way...maybe only a round or two of Meteo.

I wasn't talking about NED i was talking about the tree, 99.9% of my tries he kills my character with comet(or meteo whatever it's called) I was just saying that my Ninja managed to make it to NED and then quickly died. i only beat that damn tree once.
Edit
Also the only way I'll be able to beat it is probably with high level, well-timed elixers, and luck

Oh wow. I thought you meant NED. Sorry about that. Um...just ignore my entire post then. biggrin.gif

Yea, leveling up is your best bet. Or fight some battles to reroll the RNG so that he doesn't use Comet or Meteo or whatever. Sometimes I fight him and he uses nothing but Meteo and White Hole and other times he uses nothing noteworthy at all.

Yeah that was when I beat the tree, didn't use meteo or white hole. I was Estatic, then came NED. It was going alright until i realized I was out of Magi-shurikens.
So before i re-attempt
Hunter:
Level up past 85
buy some more elixers
Maybe go back and get artemis bow

Ninja:
Level up past 85
Get a healthy stock of Magi-Shurikens (Need 40 before the final battle)

And I'll see what happens along the road of the dragoon, although after dragoon I'll keep on doing the Final Battle until i beat it.
so I won't do any other SSCC's until i beat these.

OK Galuf has a in game sprite but not a field sprite. Oh yeah should i get a Angel Ring or Coral for Soul Cannon. But I might level really high, because man i'm really low on health so I will get enough money. Oh yeah heres the screen shot for Galuf's in game sprite but like i said he doesn't have a Field sprite, its another Butz.

Angel Ring for Soul Cannon, definitely. That's one of the only times you'll need to use that, though. I would suggest buying one of each of the rings, since they are all useful at certain points (Coral for Leviathan definitely).

The order i buy the rings is always angel-flame-coral
I remember Coral being usefual against shinryuu, although i have yet to attempt him in any sscc

sorcerer should make for a pretty easy fight against sol cannon, bolt2 sword and just focus on the cannon, heal with an elixer the round before his blast.

Hmm. That's where I got stuck. The cannons o the side are definitely annoying, having a Demi2 like effect on your character. I was at least level 30 when I got there.

I recommend taking out the two side cannons first, that'll reduce the annoyance.

Just got to the Dragon Grass/Hiryuu Plant, anyone got any tips? For some reason, even with Ribbon, Angel Ring, and a Bone Mail, paralysis and confusion still affect me.

In my hunter SSCC I wasn't able to beat Sol Cannon until level 43.
in ninja SSCC I just happened to be level 35. excessive leveling from something previous, can't remember what.

Dragoon had a very easy battle.

This battle will be in the timing of your elixers, the other two things can't kill you so all you have to worry about is surge beam, the bolt element is nice to have in this battle. If you have angel ring equipped, you'll be able to keep your damage consistent. No other advice I can give, except that your armor won't matter. If you want speed enter the battle with just your weapon and angel ring.

Dragoon update- Hyruu plant is annoying I have to deal with all those little buggers, It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't confuse me just about every time before i get my jump off the ground.
My options are level up, or just enter another battle to reroll the encounter with dragon grass.
Man I wish i had a lance that would cast doom.

Edit
ZX equip the Killer bow or some other death/doom casting weapon Dragon Grass is succeptible.

Edit
I leveled up to level 50 an i still can't beat Dragon grass, if only there wasn't charm pollen. out of all of them that's what hurts me the most. Man do I wish there was a Doom casting weapon I could use.

Edit
Does anybody have any ideas of what I could do besides continue to level up, I'll have Wind Lance and Angel ring equipped. I'll get three jumps in, and then I'm stuck in limbo of being poisoned paralyzed and confused. it's kind of embarrasing watching you HP slowly chisle away as they deal 30 damage and you have 3300 HP and you die.

Yeah I think we pretty much all got burned out
Dragoon fighting hyruu plant was rather annoying, the only solution is leveling up, possibly higher than when i beat atamos in my previous SSCCs

I used the Killer Bow. smile.gif I had Butz equipped with the Killer Bow, Ribbon, Strength Robe, and Elf Cape. It took a few tries (I did kill the big plant once, but one of the plants confused me, which wasn't good) though. Thanks for the advice!

killerbow is so useful in world2

I still have no stategy behind beating Hyruu plant in dragoon besides mass leveling.

Dragoons can't use time magic
and Dragon Grass isn't neccessarily glorified, but yes it is a pansy.

a solo ninja could beat dragon grass at any level and be untouched, however a solo dragoon is a different story

No multi-hitting ability
No DEATH inducing weapon
No way to prevent confusion
No way to prevent paralysis

So to the extent of my knowledge my only option is power leveling to wear I can kill it in 3 or less jumps

afterwards Atamos will probably be laughably easy

although I haven't felt like leveling up in that game for a long time.

I may just restart solo Black Mage

Acxtually the jump glitch only works for one or two hits with just one dragoon, I've gotten it against Hyruu plant, but because there is so many of those little buggers jump glitch has very little affect.
I wish the glitch worked like it did in a full party.

ZX tips for Atamos
only armor if any strength robe
lots of elixers
Highest damaging weapon
If you're going to use an accessory use the reflect ring, occasionally atamos might cast slow on you, and you dont want that.(but you could also just reroll the battle)

things you'll need;
enough damage to kill Atamos in 4hits
OR
3,000 HP

one or the other, 3000 HP is when you'll finally be able to survive three consecutive casts of comet, the thing about 4 hits is that'll you'll get in four hits by the time he gets one or zero so it's either/or.

This is one of my favorite weapons, simply because I dealt 6500 damage to the Hiryuu Plant with Sword Dance
-from the dancing dirk thread, Caesar.

I hope I didn't sell the dancing dirk, because it's not in my inventory, I just read that post and am going to see what I can do about it. please let it be somewhere i can go.

I think you get it from that Moogle Forest in the beginning of World 2. If you missed it there or sold it, it's gone for good.

And note that that 6.5k was with a Berserker using Sword Dance. happy.gif Still mad nice though.

Yes but with dancing dirk i could abuse savestates to get three consecutive sword dances and that should be more than enough to kill Hyruu plant.

Sadly I did sell it
I hope I have a savestate somewhere before moogle forest.

Otherwise i'm starting over At least now I know how to kill it with a dragoon

And i am officially Giving Caesar and Don't Chocobos Rule? credit for helping me come up with this solution. Mainly Caeser becuase I didn't string two and two together until his post.

Your other option is to hack your save file with codes. I know game genie codes for this game exist, it should be possible to edit in one dancing dirk.

Yea, savestate hacking is really easy. I wouldn't think any less of you if you gave yourself a Dancing Dirk. Now, if you already had one and gave yourself one or two more, THEN it'd be cheating. If you want to know how, PM me.

Actually to prevent the possibility of savestate hacking I've done all my SSCCs with Snes9x
which unlike Zsnes has no method of having a savestate hacked(last time I checked)

Even if I were to switch to Zsnes I'd have to start over anyways.

Good news is I have a savestate from before I fought Gilgamesh(bridge), so not too far back
just the only thing I neccessarily lost is 25 levels.

Edit
Beat Gilgy the same way, used the jump glitch so that haste and armor would be ineffective

Hoorah

Edit

Since You spend a lot more money in Dragoon, I'm going to Spend time leveling up and collecting dragon fangs, wortha a lot of money, probably stop at 50, less leveling later.

Edit

Dragon grass has roughly 12000 HP hopefully at level 50 sword dance will hopefully at least do 4000 damage
