So, I finally got around to renting FFX-2. Only 11% complete. Hooray for me.
![]() Anyhoo, I was wondering what some people think the ideal Job set up for your team is? Right now, I've got all three girls as Warriors, as that class seems to do the most damage, has the highest HP, and generally is capable fo staying alive alot longer than the other classes. Granted, all I have now are: Gunner, Thief, W. Mage, B. Mage, Warrior, and Songstress. The really good jobs aren't for a while yet, but lets assume you were going through the game with a general set-up for you characters. What is best? Three Fighters, three Mages, a mix there of, are things like the Gunner and the Songstress even worth using? -------------------- And behold, I saw a Pale Gaming System, and the name of he who rode it was Squaresoft, and Enix followed him. |

I'd usually have two Warriors and a Gunner or a fighting/healing mix like
Possible spoilers: highlight to view The Warrior's Sentinel ability is especially useful later on two Dark Knights and an Alchemist...or all Mascots for comic relief. Possible spoilers: highlight to view Trigger Happy, used by Gunners, is one of the best abilities in my opinion. If you in the Via Infinito when facing Mega Tonberries. Possible spoilers: highlight to view That of course makes an already pretty easy game, with the exception of a few bosses, all the more easier though.get the Cat Nip accessory, which allows the equipped character to do 9999 in damage and healing when they're low on HP, some of the tougher optional bosses can easily be brought down in a few turns if you equip it to a Gunner and use TH. Songstress is basically the same to me as in other games: utterly useless. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. my kickass team consists of a Dark Knight, a Berserker, and an Alchemist. of course, when circumstances call for it, i'll use a gunner or two(like when fighting the Experiment on all level 5s). also, i use Gun Mage, Trainer, and Thief sometimes.

HEre are a few that can work:
Gunner, White Mage, Warrior. Or you can make it 2 Gunners and 1 White Mage (Similar to waht Silver FOrk suggested). Another that can work (Later in the Game though) is a full-on Assualt party that has a Dark Knight, samauri, and Warrior. It can be useful against enemies if you want to gang up with phys. Attacks on them, I hope that can help as well. |

I think that the warrior loses it's effectiveness in the late game, as the vast majority of skills have far outgrown their usefulness (the elementals etc.)
I liked using Samurai (the power-ups for yourself are outstanding: super evasion, and just in case they do hit, wall), Paine's Trainer (the bird ganging up attack was doing 9999 damage for me LONG before anything else, while Yuna's and Rikku's were only a few thousand, anyone know of a reason for this?), and Dark Knight or Alchemist (potion + hi-potion works wonders through the mid-game). -------------------- The clouds ran away, opened up the sky And one by one I watched every constellation die And there I was frozen, standing in my backyard Face to face, eye to eye, staring at the last star I should've known, walked all the way home To find that she wasn't here, I'm still all alone -Atmosphere "Always Coming Back Home to You" |

DK, alc, sam...if you have to choose 3 different ones. otherwise, DK, DK, alc, is more powerful
![]() a few other jobs i really like are lady luck (the slots can be cheated, and with cat nip and low hp, 4 dice is the most damaging attack in the game), gunner (again, with cat nip, the trigger attack is very powerful), and trainer (they are very versatile...trainer with white magic was what i had yuna for for a majority of my 2nd play thru). i loved sam -- it was my favourite job for rikku after lady luck ( ![]() edit -- changed "DK, DK, sam" to "DK, DK alc." when i go nito a boss fight with my team, start off by casting Howl and Berserk with the Berserker, have my Alchemist mix potion + Hi-potion(even when we're full health). finally, i have my Dark Knight rattle off Darkness attacks like there's no tommmorow. i beat Vegnagun in about 2 minutes with this strategy(but that's not saying much. he was more pathetic than FFX's final boss).
