Like Michael J Fox and Luke Perry?

Tellah = Mel Brooks.
Setzer = Joe Mantegna, full-blooded Italian who can be cool and dark like Setzer Gabbiani
Cid (FFIV) = whoever the actor is that plays Hagrid in Harry Potter movies

Robbie Coltrane (who was also in GoldenEye 007) He's a good actor and a pick for any big, bearly, bearder man since that role laugh.gif

Maybe this is kind of unrelated, but...have you noticed that the FF IV team is pretty similar to the A-Team ( the TV series, the one with Mr.T).
I mean, Cecil is like that "handsome" guy, Tellah is like the old man who was the Leader of the group ( I think his name was Annibal ), Yang is like Mr T. ( I don't need to explain this ) and finally Cid ws pretty similar to Murdock ( both are comic characters and have a silly attitude )

Since you said CC... I guess I'll be the first to chime in on that...
How about Jenna Jameson and (a younger) Dolly Parton as Selkie females?
...come on, I know you were all thinking it.

Madonna as a Yuke Female (you know... the outfit would fit her)
Danny Devito as a Lilty (maybe the black knight)
(as much as I hate to admit it) Leonardo Dicaprio as a Clavat.

Actually I was just looking at a menu pic of tifa, and relaized who'd be perfect for the part
Lucy Pinder, she'd fit the part perfectly, not only is she a brunette, but her bra size is a natural FF.
When I first saw Lucy Pinder I thought she looked like a real life Tifa.

I say they should give Brad Pitt long hair and have him play the role Cecil Harvey. I love the idea of casting Johnny Depp as Vincent Valentine. Mark Hamill could play the role of one of the Tantalus guys from IX, probably either Blank or Marcus. It would take a stellar actor willing to wear women's clothes to play my favorite FF villain, Kuja. Some American Idol chicks could play the roles of various teenage FF girls. A slightly older and very attractive (talented) actress would be perfect for General Beatrix. Can't think of anyone off of the top of my head right now except Cameron Diaz.

I just somehow thought of Donald Sutherland as Galuf.

Maybe from my associating Stella Bridger (from the 2003 version of The Italian Job) with Cara.

If you look at Squall from a side angle shot you can see a strong likeness to Tom Cruise

But for Vince V, Depp would be perfect, and I definately like Bruce Willis as Cid(VII)

Final Fantasy IV would actually make a good Peter Jackson film, I always thought.

Cecil - Russel Crowe
Kain - Ralph Finnes
Rosa - Naomi Watts
Cid - Johnny Depp
Edge - Will Ferrell
Rydia - Liv Tyler
Yang - BJ Wong (or whoever the psychiatrist guy from SVU is)
Tellah - Jerry Stiller
Edward - Ben Affleck
Palom and Porom - Child actors
FuSoYa - Mel Brooks
Golbez - Graham Chapman

Here's some from some other games:
Auron - Harrison Ford
Celes - Carrie Fisher or Julia Louis-Dreyfuss
Sabin - Bruce Willis
Freya - Judi Dench
Zidane - Rob Schneider (don't ask.....)
Tidus - Meg Ryan or Owen Wilson
Rikku - Mary-Kate Olsen (or whoever the anorexic one is.....)
Locke - Mark Hammill
Barret - Martin Lawrence
Tifa - Angelina Jolie
Edgar - Jim Carrey
Setzer - Robert DeNiro
Amarant - Al Pacino
Kefka - Kelsey Grammar
Yuffie - The Olsen twin not playing Rikku
Gau - Axl Rose (don't ask, again....)
Cid (FFIX) - Burt Reynolds
Cloud - Matt Damon
Ruby - Jessica Simpson (do NOT cast her as Celes, EVER)
Baku - Robbie Coltraine
Kimahri - James Earl Jones (I would have him playing Shadow, but then people would go "OMG VADER!" With Kimahri, the connection can't be made as easily)
Steiner - Richard Griffith
Marcus - Sean Connery
Cid (FFVII) - Chuck Norris

You people would seriously want the likes of Will Smith, Bruce Willis, Russel Crowe, Ben Affleck (BEN AFFLECK!?), Cameron Diaz or THE OLSEN TWINS, anywhere near a movie based on Final Fantasy?

I hope you people die a sickeningly horrible death...

Heh. I picked the Olsen twins for Yuffie and Rikku to humiliate them, heh. And Russel Crowe rules, by the way.

I have some more:

Kuja: Alan Rickman

After some consideration, I've come to discover that Jim Carrey (heart.gif to death) probably isn't the best choice for Kefka. He'd end up taking too many liberties and making him too over the top (ie Lord Olauff, even though that was what made me think he could pull it off in the first place.) Plus watching him, you'd be thinking the whole time, "Its Jim Carrey!"

I think that truly the best Kefka would be Gary Oldman. The ultimate in villainious characters, and he could really make Kefka his own original character, and wouldn't be easily mistaken for Gary Oldman.

edgar - russel crowe
sabin - hugh jackman
(for some reason, those 2 remind me of each other. plus, everytime i watch x-men the movie, i think of sabin when i see wolverine.)

setzer - jeremy irons
(man in the iron mask-ish plus his kick-ass white hair in "the time machine")

Yeah, Jeremy Irons would be among the greatest of choices for a dreamed-up FF flick. Alan Rickman would be a no-brainer choice for a bad guy, so him casted as Kuja, Garland, or Sephiroth (yes, The Great Sephiroth) among others would be a stellar choice. If he had long white hair, a cool-lookin' black cloak, he could very well pull it off. Jack Nicholson would have to play a bad guy that has a minor role; Zalmo Rushnada from FFT comes to mind right off the bat becuase of his appearance/face picture. I wouldn't ignore any of The Sopranos crew, either as protagonists or antagonists.

If someone put a shotgun barrel to my head and forced me to cast the actors/esses for Square characters, I suppose I'd have to put:

Heidegger -- Jean Reno (w/ beard)
Zangan -- Sean Connery (I'd have to cast him...it's the rule.)
Aeris -- Audrey Hepburn (So what if I have a time machine...)
Rude -- Humphrey Bogart (...it's not like I'd forget Bogart if I went.)
Biggs -- Colin Farrell (I'd ditch him in the past after shooting was done. =/)

And if I had to mar FFT and pick VAs, I'd at least go with:

Besrodio -- Clint Eastwood (Besrodio would look awesome in a Stetson)
Elmdor -- Gary Oldman (Wait...another vampire-type guy? Stereotype'D!)
Beowulf -- Colin Firth (Beowulf dresses like he has an English accent... =p)
Algus -- David Cross (...)

Okay, so the last one is a joke, but I can't really think of any other actors I'm fond of except Malkovichand Bronson, and I don't know where they'd go. I'm really not fond of popular kiddie actors, and I'd much prefer to hear someone as a character I've played without immediately attributing it to their latest Disney movie.

I wouldn't give Jeremy Irons or Alan Rickman the Sephiroth part because Sephiroth never came out to me as having a British accent. They would make good Kujas or Golbezes, though. Sephiroth is too difficult to cast.

As for Garland, make that both Garlands, I'd probably cast Ian McDermind, though the FFI Garland is probably a little too comical for McDermind.

Nicole Kidman would do well as Lulu, and Nicholas Cage as Vincent.

Irons for Kuja 'cause of the accent. I could see Sephiroth as either British or American (as vague as that description is). I like the idea of putting Eastwood in, but I can't see him as anyone but a main character, much like Brad Pitt. Rickman would be perfect for Garland, 'cause in Die Hard, he seems like he could pull off Garland from FFI as well as IX almost perfectly. Ewan McGregor could be Bartz from V and some hearthrob with acting talent and capable of pulling off a tremendous flick would be perfect to play the role of Cecil Harvey.

The best acting job, in my opinion, needs to be done by Cecil. He's the first person I think of when I think "Final Fantasy," and the purpose of an FFIV movie would be to take anything resembling Anime out of the game and putting it more along the lines of LOTR/Gladiator/Braveheart/any really good medieval/ancient Roman fantasy flick. That's why I think Russel Crowe would be a perfect Cecil, as he was awesome in Gladiator. The movie should be directed by Peter Jackson (actually, I think Jackson would do a good job with all the pre-FFVII games, as well as FFVII itself (which would follow the lines of a Terminator/MI flick). Past there, the series gets too Anime-like in nature to be made into live-action movies, although I could see doing an FFIX comedy movie starring some actors along the lines of Adam Sandler. FFVIII and FFX can never be good movies.)

I don't see Cecil with a British accent, though. I see Kain and Golbez with them. -CSM

actuall for a director I wouldn't want peter jackson, his movies tend to have scenes immensly long, as well as some plot elements, or scenes that add to the story dropped.

but also to add some characters owen wilson could also play zidane, I know some of you may think he couldn't be because he isn't short enough, or something like that. But I believe choosing the character should involve more how much they could play the character
which is why i also second russell crowe being cecil
also it needs to be taken into account that FFIX had some cartoony graphics that couldn't be mimiced in real life.

also Samuel J Jackson could play General Leo, since there is speculation to leo's skin color, and Jackson could play the part very well.

Also I think Jason Statham could make a really good Rude.

I always thought Kate Beckinsale (you know, Underworld girl tongue.gif) would make a good Rinoa... what do you think? (Though Kate is personally reserved for the role of Bastila Shan in Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic tongue.gif Sorry, couldn't resist.)

As for FFVII, I'd star Vin Disel as Rude (SUCH a badass tongue.gif)
