I've seen the Launcher or the Launcher Effect mentioned in several threads now and I honestly have no clue to what it refers. That's probably due to my unfinished playing of FF6, but I would much obliged to whoever tells me.

Okay, nice question. Everybody loves the Launcher effect. This is what Launcher would do without the infamous Launcher effect:
Hits a single target and reduces its HP to 50 % of the target's current HP. I know you're running around in your room right now, confused, screaming to the walls as if they would answer your questions. Doens't Launcher hit more then one target? Doesn't it seem like much more damage is done then just a Demi spell? The Launcher effect, # 50 in the game data, makes the spell hit eight random targets. The animation will play eight times, and the game will calculate the damage every time it hits, but the damage isn't taken off until the very end. So to the untrained eye, it will look like one spell. So the Launcher effect just adds two nice things to a spell you would want to create: Flashy Graphics (it hits eight times! Rock on!) and pretty much random damage as you can't control which targets it will hit. It doesn't even have AI which tells it to *not* hit dead targets such as used in Quadra Slam/Slice. The fools. Not that it would be even slightly possible to do so in this case, but never mind ![]() -------------------- |

Ahh, that question was wearing on my mind and would have bugged me all day long if you hadn't promptly answered. Thanks, Djibriel.
