Yes I have others. These are fairly old about a year i would say. As for my style well I decided to take an intresting approach when it comes to poetry so there is lots of repeatition and grammer errors. But it makes for intresting reading or so i have been told. Actully truthfully I gave up Poetry after I wrote a few of these. I still have some other ones around here somewhere....
This one was just a funny little poem I made and I don't know why I am posting it except there is a bit of meaning behind it if you know that I do actully like writing poetry and at that point in time did so quite often with ease: I cannot get out of this Rut of writing Writing the thing i take joy in and yet despize so much Writing A place where I have compleate control I could Write about most anything love, war, death and all the while you have compleate control yet here i am at 4:00 A.M., still in a rut i did write a Poem though a Poem that is plain i think it shows i'm going insane i'll get committed! it will not be seen for that i thank my good friend caffiene so i Write a poem in prose tone no fancy touch, about writing in a Rut your Your kisses are like water to a parched land Your voice music to the deaf Your face is beauty in human form Your all I care about in this world Your all I know Your all I will ever need Your more then will will ever know Your what I miss most in my life -------------------- We all have our own hells and fires we must pass through, but when you have passed through them, you must ask yourself. Was I consumed by the flame? Or was I tempered by it? Quitsis - "Whip, Chaingun, don't bug me I'm killing" |

I really dont have many pieces of poetry talking about love but Heres one that encorporates a bit of Sailor moon in it (I wrote it during my Obsession with it period)
My Moonlight Knight will come when Im alone and take my hand and grasp it Will you love me until I grow up or will I be "The Black Lady" the one who will be alone and filled with terrible darkness of that fear Im like a child inside but out I look older Nobody listens to me when Im a ghost or even wandering spirit Will you listen? Yes..... you say Its niether the answer nor a question My Arabian Knight I'll dream I'll see you one day but until then i guess i am Usaugi until then -Y.Y[ -------------------- Shoot me with a gun make it out of words destroy my heart obliterate my viens disinegrate my bones but leave me my mind so I may go crazy Thank you josh....AHHHHHH |

Adore this Lilly this is a once and a lifetime Poem for you.
Lilly By The Sea A little girl sits by the sea dreaming of love and wishing for hope Always look out seeing the beauty that life shows her It makes her appreciate this life more Even as a storm sets in while she's sitting there looking She wanders over to the edge of a mighty cliff and looks down to a see a lily in the wind. It lands in her hands and its another sign of lifes beauty. -Y.Y -------------------- Shoot me with a gun make it out of words destroy my heart obliterate my viens disinegrate my bones but leave me my mind so I may go crazy Thank you josh....AHHHHHH |

I think this is very beautiful I luv it !!!
![]() ![]() Alone for a while I've been searching through the dark, for traces of the love you left inside my lonely heart. To weave by picking up the pieces that remain. Melodies of Life - Love's lost refrain. Our paths they did cross, though I cannot say just why, we met, we laughed, we held on fast, and then we said goodbye, and who'll hear the echoes of stories never told? Let them ring out loud until they unfold. In my dearest memories, I see you reaching out to me. Though you're gone, I still believe that you can call out my name. A voice from the past, joining yours and mine. Adding up the layers of harmony. And so it goes, on and on. Melodies of Life. To the sky beyond the flying birds - forever and beyond. So far and away, see the birds as it flies by, gliding through the shadows of the clouds up on the sky... I've laid my memories, and dreams upon those wings. Leave them now and see what tomorrow brings. In your dearest memories, do you remember loving me? Was it fate that brought us close and now leaves us behind. A voice from the past, joining yours and mine. Adding up the layers of harmony, and so it goes, on and on. Melodies of Life. To the sky beyond the flying birds - forever and beyond. If I should leave this lonely worlds behind. Your voice will still remember our melody. Now I know we'll carry on. Melodies of Life. Come circle round and grow deep in our hearts, as long as we remember. -------------------- Things have not changed You have changed Henery David Thoreau |

They say if wishes were fishes

Shoot The Moon
The summer days are gone too soon You shoot the moon And miss completely And now you're left to face the gloom The empty room that once smelled sweetly Of all the flowers you plucked if only You knew the reason Why you had to each be lonely Was it just the season? Now the fall is here again You can't beging to give in It's all over When the snow comes rolling through You're rolling through with some new lover Will you think of times you've told me That you knew the reason Why we had to each be lonely It was just the season This is a song I rather like .even though I didn't write it,I though you here would enjoy it -------------------- Things have not changed You have changed Henery David Thoreau |

True Friendship
People come in and out of our lives, but true friends leave footprints on our hearts When we have shattered hearts and have lost our way. They pick us up pasting the pieces together, filling the gaps with their own. True friendship is not always knowing what to say, but always being there to listen. Sometimes its not the words that comfort, but knowing the other person cares. A true friend is someone who knows you better then your self. They do not judge you for your flaws, but love you for them. For they are what make you different from the rest. A true friend will be there by your side when the rest of the world turns its back on you. A true friend is someone you can call at 3:00am and they will listen A true friend is someone you can talk to about almost anything, and they won't make fun of you. A true friend is an angel with no visible wings, they are one of the greatest gifts; God has blessed us with. -------------------- Things have not changed You have changed Henery David Thoreau |

I wrote this some time ago.The grammer and spelling is off,but I rather like it
Amongest the birches As I kneel here amongst the birches. I find my self-wondering from prayer. It is here I find peace, from my self and the world. You my think it is odd for someone to pray in the woods. Yet I feel just as close to God here as in any church. In the mists of his creation, in the beauty of his eternal love. Oh come gentile evening, and on the soft wings of night. Carry my pray to the heart of my love. I am laying barren the depths of my soul, like an open book. Will he find joy in these words? or just ignore them. So many times I have given him pieces of my heart. But he was to blind to see; they were pieces of a puzzle. That would become my heart. How foolish was I to give this gift so freely. I believed my heart was speaking to his each time our eyes met. To late I realized I was blinded by love. For in return all I was given back was a cold unfeeling, glance. And now all I have left is a pair of broken wings, how I long to fly again. My joy is gone, and I don't know if I can hope again. Angels have pure hearts and trust, with their very being. So here I will lie, upon a leafy bed. Were autumns past have left their memories. Perhaps the north wind will carry away my tears. And they will fall on my loves face. In the form of a, sweet spring rain. Maybe then he will come, and heal my broken wings -------------------- Things have not changed You have changed Henery David Thoreau |

Changes
Where once I was one, now I am two The what was, and what will become, Battling for the body Control of the mind The once was struggles to claim me Wield me as it always has The child in me fights. For tears, For dreams, Games Love My child is dying Fading away, loosing to time And change A man will I be When my child is buried Long forgotten Fear clings tight to me Making me pale and sick My eyes turn, though my mind knows better I must abandon him Cast him aside with all those what were’s in my life What I am to become looms not so far anymore Its shadow penetrating me thoroughly Binding me to this path Altering me Farewell And good to meet you -Jesus Prime |

I didn't write this,but I think its pretty.
Come away with me in the night Come away with me And I'll write you a song Come away with me on a bus Come away where they can't temt us With their lies I want to walk with you On a cloudy day In fields where the grass grows knee high So won't you try to come? Come away with me and we'll kiss On a mountiantop Come away with me And I'll never stop loving you. And I want to wake up with the rain Falling on a tin roof While I'm safe here in your arms So all I will ask for you To come away with me in the night Come away with me. -------------------- Things have not changed You have changed Henery David Thoreau |

I finally finished this song I wrote but it makes me cry everytime I read it so here it is:
Neal....Tidddles...All Of you come together like friends Its like a game of Chocobo Dungeon2 but in the end you lose the white mage who was so happy to be near but its time for her goodbye Go on little chocobo whose destiny is written in the sky Hold on tight they will help you...Cid...Black Mage...Behemoth...Bahumut...Fatty Chocobo...Mog... All the friends you need are near Dont write your tales in blood Let your blood be the tail We watch from the side and have hope for you You live in us and we live in you *chocobo chirp* lil' Chocobo Now run along lil' chocobo the sun sets and friends you made are there waiting for you run along and dont forget Sharon Y.Y It has no title I was hoping for suggestions. -------------------- Shoot me with a gun make it out of words destroy my heart obliterate my viens disinegrate my bones but leave me my mind so I may go crazy Thank you josh....AHHHHHH |

Everyone's got such great poetry in here, it's all so very nicely done. Here's a lil something from yours truly. I got it from watching a candle burn, from begining till end. (Yes I have no life) Oh and I warn you now, I tend to change topic half way through most of everything I write, and this one is not much different.
Candle Wax And Burning Flesh Just Light The Wick For Her Just Start The Fire In Her The Wax Will Pour From Her As The Flame Grows Higher You Can't Avert Your Eyes Her Flame Dance Draws You In All The While, Her Life Flows Down Her Tears Harden Once Again Her Flame Will Keep On Burning Bright Until She's Drowning In Her Tears Her Own Wax Life Will Snuff Her Out With A Flicker And A Wave Goodbye The Light Will Disappear. The Candle Gives Itself To You It Pours It's Own Existance Out Until Puddles Of It's Life Wax Drowns The Candle Out. Could We All Be Candles With Our Own Wicks Burning Bright Bleeding Out Our Very Souls Glowing With Our Lights Would Our Wax Be Tainted And Our Flames Would Make Us Whole To Create Something New And Perfect Or Just To Burn Without Control Just Light The Wick For Her Just Start The Fire In Her The Wax Will Pour From Her The Wax Will Pour From Us All Creating Our Own Embers Until The Wax Snuffs Out Our Fire Pour From Us All Moderator Edit Plagiarism is not appreciated! -R51 This post has been edited by Rangers51 on 24th July 2011 23:06 |

Reading over some of those old ones are funny. I'm especially tickled by DF's deletions- they're a poetry in themselves, almost. I assume Emo-Jav is now stabbed with a knife, burned and buried.
Your Candle poem makes me imagine lyrics for something in an alt-rock metalesque genre. The one genre of poetry I've ever had a bit of skill with has been limericks, probably because I can't take symbolic attempts at emotional depth seriously anymore. There once was a man from cancun Who slept every day until noon "My husband, you'll fail!", screamed his wife the white whale. In his sleep, he plays Ahab too. Immanuel Kant had a clock It told him to go for a walk There were women abound As he strolled through the town When he got home, he had to fight with his cock. There once was a wise man from Nazareth Who's teachings the king declared hazardous After saddling an ass through the gates he did pass And the world never saw aught more disastrous. A man who followed Lao Tzu got a small stone in his shoe after a while he walked ten-thousand miles before the rock dug a hole and fell through Some lady thought limericks trite. When mentioned she'd quarrel and fight. Whenever she bitched her three chins would twitch She died of heart attack while sleeping one night. -------------------- If you've been mod-o-fied, It's an illusion, and you're in-between. Don't you be tarot-fied, It's just alot of nothing, so what can it mean? ~Frank Zappa Sins exist only for people who are on the Way or approaching the Way |

Woohoo, limericks!
![]() There once was a girl with green hair, and purple and red underwear, She once started crying, and then started flying, and lost all her clothes in the air. And, oh, there's this guy all in black, who keeps leaving and then coming back, He'll send through the air whatever you'll spare, But watch out for his doggy's attack. And what's with that other guy, Cyan, Who's debut has him sitting there cryin', you'll do many a chore for some more money for all the postage stamps he'll be a buyin' Did you know there's also this young king, Who can build just about anything? And a girl's only chance To escape his advance, Would be putting on a Relic Ring. And there's Mog, whom we've not yet discussed, Whom even a Yeti will trust And you'll be sure to groove to many a move that this cute little creature can bust And that girl who went to defect, Well I do not mean her disrespect But when Runic is shot let's just say her sword's not the only thing that becomes erect. And before you start handing out laurels, you prob'ly should question the morals of these people that'll bring children to battle and make them fight in all their quarrels. Ok, some of them were a little racy, but that's part of the limerick tradition too. ![]() This post has been edited by finalalias on 27th July 2011 03:53 |

Nice!
I pretty much like Der Erlkönig ("The Erlking") from Goethe: Who rides there so late through the night dark and drear? The father it is, with his infant so dear; He holdeth the boy tightly clasp'd in his arm, He holdeth him safely, he keepeth him warm. "My son, wherefore seek'st thou thy face thus to hide?" "Look, father, the Erl King is close by our side! Dost see not the Erl King, with crown and with train?" "My son, 'tis the mist rising over the plain." "Oh, come, thou dear infant! oh come thou with me! For many a game I will play there with thee; On my beach, lovely flowers their blossoms unfold, My mother shall grace thee with garments of gold." "My father, my father, and dost thou not hear The words that the Erl King now breathes in mine ear?" "Be calm, dearest child, thy fancy deceives; the wind is sighing through withering leaves." "Wilt go, then, dear infant, wilt go with me there? My daughters shall tend thee with sisterly care My daughters by night on the dance floor you lead, They'll cradle and rock thee, and sing thee to sleep." "My father, my father, and dost thou not see, How the Erl King is showing his daughters to me?" "My darling, my darling, I see it alright, 'Tis the aged grey willows deceiving thy sight." "I love thee, I'm charm'd by thy beauty, dear boy! And if thou aren't willing, then force I'll employ." "My father, my father, he seizes me fast, For sorely the Erl King has hurt me at last." The father now gallops, with terror half wild, He holds in his arms the shuddering child; He reaches his farmstead with toil and dread,— The child in his arms lies motionless, dead. "The Shaper"
The shaper became the first to suborn perjury when he let people believe that swallows evolved from siege tactics. And that glass descended in line unbroken from wonder. That koi and Caesar assembled in commiseration. But perhaps the shaper was deceived by his deceptions, perhaps he truly believed that from the arc of the first ballista smashing its first rounded, now-bloodied jawbone rose directly the swallow’s tail, believed that the first to forsake the fuliginous experienced something beyond the immediately comprehensible, believed, too, that koi and Caesar bonded over their shared denouement. Still, I sometimes think that nothing ever was before his poetry and feel forlorn when I think that siege tactics might have evolved from a coveting of death on a more geologic timescale, or that the mystery of glass can be deciphered with nothing more than a phrase: aggregate sand forged, or that Caesar, lying in a suspension of his lifeblood and the blades that beckoned it, did not grasp at koi lying in a desiccated pool, sputtering and gasping for breath, did not apprehend the word conspire. I wrote this poem a couple months ago, and I share it as a typical specimen of my oeuvre, typical in that it's got quite a bit of "poetic" language but lacks an adequate level of tension. (I have since altered it with the help of one of my writing professors, but I'm trying to get that version published--hence not including the most recent version.) |
