I felt compelled to vote for Aeris, but now I remeber I voted Sephiroth #1 FF character of all time. Oh well they're both so awesome (Cloud and Nanaki too.)

Red XIII with Vincent as a close second. Vincent would have had such a story with Oedipus...err...Sephiroth if the programmers didn't decide to just ignore him. Red XIII was the best character, but they decided to overshadow him with bland screen-grabbers like Cloud, Sephiroth, and Tifa's _

That would've been so good actually, to have Vincent tell Sephiroth about his true mother and how he was created. I don't think Sephiroth really knew the details of his birth. It's a shame Vincent was only an optional character, and they didn't make his optional sidequest longer. It's so not fair that Yuffie got a whole island and Vincent only got a tiny cave! |

I voted Sephiroth. For the reasons like myself, he is always searching for the answers as to who he is. Another reason is because he had a lot more potential to make FF7 an even better story than it already was.

 Anyway, mine's out of Yuffie, Vincent, Red XIII, Cid and Cait Sith. My opinion changes every so often on them, but I like characters that make me laugh sometimes. Yuffie and Vincent pretending to be reporters was a great laugh. (Or did I dream that? It's been too long since I played.) Unfortunately, my favorite FFVII characters are not listed on the post (no "other" option?), so I will have to go with Vincent as he is my favorite playable character.
However, my true favorite character would be either Reno from the Turks or Rufus. I don't know, both of them just appealed to me dramatically--and you can't deny that Shinra Corp. was a far more overwhelming and overtly antagonistic enemy than Mr. "I look cool because I dress in black and have a big sword.... feel my angst!" (Sephiroth) and Jenova. I don't know... Sephie just never did it for me. although his theme was pretty nasty, I suppose. -------------------- Je ne t'aime plus, Mon amour... I couldn't decide between Sephiroth and Aeris, but then I saw a little footage of Seph in battle, with that awesome sweeping sword attack...he's just too cool to vote against. Ask me tomorrow, and I'd probably say Aeris, they're neck and neck in my book.
