I'd have to with Mute for those annoying times when someone won't shutup. I think Cure3 would be nice, also, but Mute is more cause-effective, in my opinion.

Warp. The handiness, the escapability (I'm pretty sure that isn't a word), the cost efficiency - no more buses! Oh, and being able to exit dungeons easily. Haven't we all been stuck in a dungeon and wished we could Warp out? ... I guess you could Warp into a bank vault, or something. Or an adult movie set. Warp. Heh heh...

Mute. Being at an all-girls school at the moment, I really wish those blabbermouths would just shut up!

I like the warp idea. I recently had to sell my truck and takeing the bus has been utterly sucky.
But what about Imp? turn yourself into an imp... turn everyone ELSE into an imp. Either way, your sure to cause lots and lots of chaos. "Mommy, my math teacher turned into a green midget and danced around the room today..." |

Right now, I am full of all sorts of maladies, and I have no idea why. Why would my mouth choose to form a cold sore at the same time that I have congestion in my throat and a bitten (I think) tongue? Plus, a friend of mine isn't doing much better, in fact, she's much worse. So yeah, I'd say I'd pick any kind of major healing spell right about now, except Life (God forbid I should have to use that).

Oh, you poor thing, Atma! I wonder if a Remedy spell would help you and your friend...
Now that I think about it, Haste, Slow and Stop could be useful sometimes, but chaotic if abused...hmmm... And it's great to be here! -------------------- I'm a general, not some opera floozy! *insert humourous observation here* |

Now THAT is a good idea! Particularly if you can get Haste to stack like it did in FF1. Weee! It'd be like that flick Clockstopers awhile back.

I would either use warp to transport to places, vanish to go invistable, or mute to make my little sister be quiet already!!!

In light of recent events, Death Sentence would be a nice spell. It's more of a...more extreme version of Mute.

Math, you just gave me an idea with the Lore Death Sentence. Blowfish/1000 Needles would be fun, one minute they're a person, the next they're a human pin cushion.
Clean Sweep and Aero would be fun, wash away or blow away all who annoy you! Grand Train would hopefully make trains run on time for once, with Quasar, an instant phenomenon is yours! I could just go on and on... -------------------- I'm a general, not some opera floozy! *insert humourous observation here* |

See, what i would do it get haste, go to a racetrack and bet every penny I had on a horse, then I would cast haste on the horse so it would win the race and I'd be rich! Edit: Lather rinse and repeat over and over
Or I would get blackshock, image it, I could cut all your abilities, Intelligence and strength in half! It would make any bad situation that much easier. This post has been edited by GABlastman on 26th September 2004 21:36 -------------------- www.allinthepackage.com |

i like a lot of the spells and magical abilities in the game, but above all my favourite to use in real life would have to be one of the bolt spells.
if someone i didn't like was bugging me, i could just zapp him with a couple thousand volts of electricity to shut him up. i just think electrical abilities are cool... the only reason i didn't pick one of the more massive ones like flare, doom, or anything is they seem a little bit extreme...wait, who am i kidding? there awsome! -------------------- Treasure hunter and trail-worn traveler, searching the world over for relics of the past... |

Well, I would have to say "Quick" (though this is assuming that whomever was in charge of the Espers finally bit the bullet and decided to get rid of his speed-increasing Odin). If theres one thing I've found I could always use more of, its time. I would say that it is the most versatile spell of all.
But, as I prefer to look at all angles, I will offer my rebuttal for some of the more popular spells here. General Attack Spells- I would say that the risks and consequences of using attack magic very much outweigh the benefits. People tend to fear what they don't understand, and tend to fear even more what tries to light them on fire. Even if you were in the right, or about to be the victim of a heinous crime, to use an attack spell would instantly alienate you from human society, and you would become overdependent on your spells for your survival. As Celes says, "Power only breeds war". As for the individual spells in question: Flare - Stronger than the third-level elementals, armor-piercing, and non-elemental. It would probably be my choice, if it weren't for the fact that its limited to single-targetting (if you light someone up, you'd better be ready for his friends, and there's a good chance you'll get clobbered before you can conjure up another flare, and another, and so on). Fire3/Ice3/Bolt3 - Probably would be my choice of an attack spell, because of its versatility (one or multi-target). While the elemental-property COULD be a problem, I don't foresee meeting anyone whose immune to Fire or Ice. Meteor/Ultima: These two are pretty much the same (Meteor = Baby-Ultima, imho). The problem I have is that they're indiscriminate in your targetting. Ever hear of collateral damage? Merton: I hope you're kidding. ----- Curative Spells: Cure3: Yes, this would be very useful. But it wouldn't bring back anyone from the dead, nor would it be very helpful if you were killed instantly (if you're going to die, chances are it'll be this way). While it would prolong your life, I assume that it wouldn't cure status ailments (like Poison, Cancer, Alzheimers, etc.). Life2: My first choice for a curative spell, showing my altruistic side. I can say this would probably have the most positive effect on humanity, but like I said up there, power tends to corrupt. The power to bring people back from the void could very quickly be abused, especially when you realize you can't bring back EVERYONE you want (not to mention, the spell only affects people who're wounded, but not dead a la Rachel). Life3: Would definitely be useful (perhaps not so as Life2, except that it could save your own self), but again, the power to save lives would definitely attract attention, and could get you in some serious societal trouble. Remedy: Almost as positive as Life/Life2, but as horrible as this sounds, I wouldn't want to spend the rest of my life hunched over hospital beds. If we're going to have magic, then I'll leave that to a doctor. ---- Effect Magic: Vanish: Did you ever see that movie with Chevy Chase as a man who got turned invisible by some scientific mishap? Well if you haven't, don't. It stank. But the point is that the world can be a very lonely place when you're invisible all the time. As for the comments about the perverted aspect of Vanish, I would say that you're setting yourself up for a crutch thats worse than the crutch that Vanish/Doom introduced in FF3. What motivation do you have to improve your self-image and your romantic skills, if you can just go around peeping (and goodness knows what else) with no recourse? Warp: The big issue I have with this one, is that we're talking about FF3's "Warp", and not, for example, Lufia 2's. I guess if you don't like stairs/elevators, it might help, but it certainly wouldn't aid people who were trying to get from one place to another. ----- So in conclusion. Quick. |

I'd have Ultima so if anyone wants to mess with me, BAMM!!! They're gone. Also Life 3 so that I can come back to life over and over again.

So hard to decide. If I had to pick a modifacation spell, I would pick Stop. I would be sitting in one of my classes and become tired of listing to whatever, so, casting Stop on the class, I could sleep or read or sleep. Stopping other objects to, like a football that is about to be fumbled or intercepted. Think of the possibilities.
If I chose an elemental spell, I would probably choose Ice 3. Me: I don't feel like school today... mumble mumble... ICE 3! (Snow suddenly starts falling, and there is much rejoicing(Monty Python I could also freeze stuff for fun. (Evil laugh) -------------------- Could you repeat that? |

I'd like to be a time mage and all of its spells. Just picture it.... you're watching the NASCAR race on TV, you just point to the drivers you hate oh-so-much and use stop on them and Haste on your favorite driver. And since it's a time mage, I can speed up time on myself (hellooooo driver's license) and make myself older, or just cause chaos for fun with meteor.
