Is it possible to knock a beast that can't go into water, off the edge of a cliff and into the water? I'm guessing it isn't, but that would be a neat gimmick if it could be pulled off. Knock a dragon into the water and render it immoble. Or knock a fire-based creature into the water and kill it instantly.
Is it possible at all? I almost never am able to knock back anything as it is, so I've not been able to truly test it. -------------------- And behold, I saw a Pale Gaming System, and the name of he who rode it was Squaresoft, and Enix followed him. |

Units can only be knocked onto a location where they would be able to go in any other situation, so it's not possible to knock, let's say, a Red Panther into the water because it couldn't go there in the first place. You can't cast Float on monsters for that reason, also.

Thought so. Still, it'd have made for a neat strategy.

What do you mean you can't Float monsters? Just the other day my Time Mage used Float on a Juravis, and lo and behold, the Juravis floated! Or do you mean that only certain monsters can't float?
-------------------- I can't think of anything to say, really, except... I think it's nice... Ha ha ha! |

Come to think, don't ghosts and bombs float? Or is that just part of their character animation?
Maybe it is just certain types of monsters, but what would I know, I never bother with the float spell myself, unless your talking equipment (like the Feather Boots). -------------------- And behold, I saw a Pale Gaming System, and the name of he who rode it was Squaresoft, and Enix followed him. |

Yes, Ghosts and Bombs have Always: Float. Concerning the thing about being immune to Float, I think that only applies with monsters who cannot enter water.

If you want to knockback an enemy, Dassh is the best ability to use, after that, Throw stone, then all the other skills and attack in the game have a very low percentage.
You use float like on a red panther, but, even if it floats, it will not be able to go float over water. I guess that it's beacause the monster doesn't want to drown if the float status would wear off... This post has been edited by Zodiac on 8th July 2004 00:37 -------------------- Sayonara |
