I've read a lot of people doing low level games (LLG's) and I was impressed on how they've got it down to a science (right down to exploiting how the game averages levels for new characters). There doesn't seem to be an equivalent movement for quick game completions. The best I could find is a 10 hour game guide on gamefaqs. If you skim the guide though you'll get the impression that there is no emphasis on beating the game as fast as possible; it's only about cutting enough corners to get under 10 hours (plus he uses the vanish/doom strategy frequently on bosses, which takes away real the challenge if you ask me). Has anyone truly tried to see what is the fastest one can complete this game?

i've seen a low level walk through for ff6 about beating it with your characters level's at 6 i think.. and get this.. your characters are spose to lose levels in this game because of how the average system works.

It is not possible to lose levels during a low level game or any game for that matter. The does game recalcultate everyone's xp based on level at a couple points in the game. It is possible to lose xp at these points, but it will not reduce your level below what it is. Perhaps that is what you are thinking about.

You CAN lose levels between the WoB and WoR, it's all based on modifiers of Celes' level, IIRC...I can't remember exactly how it works, but it ends up making Gau a much higher level...like 14.

No, you can't. You can lose exp., but never levels.

I have heard of people beating other FF games at low levels, like level 7. After I beat the game again with my current party, I will try. (I also beat Zelda 64 with just 3 hearts!)
Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone has ever tried beating the games with low levels, and how. I know that if I go too fast, some of the monsters really whomp me since I'm not strong enough, but to beat some of those bosses.... that seems tough... -------------------- "Look at me! it doesn't seem all too possible. by default you have to fight certain people/things/bosses. plus you'd lose pretty easy on an rpg game, even with weapons and armor. you'd have less money fighting less opponents.
i know of know way. getting higher levels is always more fun than trying to beat with little exp in games. for zelda, that's cool, but stuff like ff... i dun think it's gonna happen. -------------------- Uwee he he! |

Well, you could get money by stealing things, then leaving the fight. And use Mog to loot dungeons without having to fight... but still, some certain spells are real killers...

even if you stole, you'd risk a) not get`ing anything,
![]() if u're hurting, how you gonna heal? not to many monster's items cover the cost of expensive weapons, healing items, fenix downs, etc, because you know gettinv spells required exp more often than not. -------------------- Uwee he he! |
