Well, I don't like it...but if it'll make Figaro happy, who am I to stand in the way of this submission?

His hair's too combed-looking, shoulders are a bit too broad and there's something annoying me a great deal about the bridge of his nose. huh.gif

If I say it's awesome, then by Glaven, it's awesome. And this is awesome.

I still love your style. biggrin.gif I like the way you made his hair blonde and grey streaks.

Is it, by my standars, Locke? No. But is it skillfully done, and very good work?

Aye.

Another nice one.
This pic makes Locke look younger than I normally imagine him. Hair is neater, too
The shading is rather... interesting. Seems to kind of emphasize how little they bathed in the Middle Ages.
Why does this remind me of Brian Krause?

huh.gif ...I don't know. Who's Brian Krause? *goes to do an image search*

Edit: You're right, he does look like Brian Krause. blink.gif

Good texture and shading, though only real downside to this piece (if you can call it a downside) is his eye color (I may be wrong, but I don't think his eyes are yellow/gold, correct me if I'm wrong).

Very good question...I wasn't sure about it myself. The colour I finally settled on was actually a brown shade, but I suppose it's gone a bit yellowy-gold because of the highlights that were added..

Ah, I thought that it might be intentional, as they do seem to fit with the overall style. Thanks for clarifying. thumbup.gif

See More (Total 10)
When this was loading, I first saw a glimpse of the hair. It loaded some more and it didn't quite go the way I was expecting it to. To me, the hair gave me the impression of the figure was going to be a 3/4 view turned to his left. As it stands now, I feel like the hair is almost pasted onto the figure. They're not quite integrated as well as it should be. The anatomy is not as well rendered in this drawing (as in comparison to the Edgar one).

I know that you work with a mouse drawing these picture (I am also known to do that too), but my suggestion is that you buy yourself an inexpensive box of pastels and experiment with them. Soft or hard pastels can be bought for under $10 (and can go up to $50 for the good stuff) and will provide you with practice using real materials. I recomend getting a pad of Mi-Teintes paper (or some other type of pastel pad) to work with. By getting some practice with 'real' materials, you'll improve not only your physical art, but also your CG stuff. I think that you have loads of potential.

Thanks for the advice Kame. smile.gif I do a fair bit of natural media work at school though, mainly because I actually have room to do it my school's art department - my workspace at home is quite limited. Heck, I don't even have a desk. sad.gif Still, you're right about the natural media practice, I could use more of it. I suppose I could at the veryyyy least crack open that dusty pack of coloured pencils..I'm pretty sure there's some pastels around here somewhere as well.

And I'm glad you thought the Edgar picture was better, since it was drawn a good bit after this one. smile.gif Good point about the hair too..as always, I'll try to keep that in mind for the next drawing.
