Although I'm not really liking the idea of ChainReaction all that much (Who would want to equip it?), the idea of all dragons summoning eachother compels me. As you pointed out C., there's only room for six of 'em. There is, however, the possibility of one monster formation summoning the other...as seen in Kefka's final fight.

I don't know how this is done, but as it is a very significant part of the game I'm sure that everything that I need will be known already. There are things to figure out of course, but I think I can pull it off. Just call the shots.

WGG: Gau was in rage mode when he was hit and went berserk. The graphic doesn't appear normally when he attacks in rage mode, but equip him with some high defense, and put him as your first character, 'cause he's a beast with that counterattack.

Djibriel: I think that the summoning of another battle formation is an event. I'm not positive, but that would be my guess. In that case, I could simply make a new event that summons all 8 dragon battles as you progress through them. Maybe I could get some more help either from you or The 6th Lime eventually since I have a lot of work to be done right now. If you want, you can do a little research and find out how it's possible, but it's completely up to you.

The same event occurs in SrBehemoth battle.

In the beginning, I was just thinking that we could dummied battle dialogs that says: One dragon call ohter dragon. So, in a battle, there would never be more than 2 dragons. BUT, I find the idea cool to have all the dragons in one battle. Maybe, a ninth battle, in which you fight Bahamut (the king of all dragons). When he dies, he calls over the 8 dragons (that appears one at a time) that you have to fight in a certain time. If, there aren't dead, the dragon on screen will do an unblockable attack that does 9999 damage on all party members. TWICE! So Life 3 won't help.

Goonies: I could just have each battle have an on-going timer, and if they aren't dead by then, they'll use the ultimate attack of their element. Or, I could add in a small enemy into their formation which they would call in if they aren't dead after awhile (he'd probably use the speck graphic and be called DrgnHelper or something weird like that...of course he would make the battle very very difficult if you don't kill him quickly). Not sure what I would do, but I have plenty of time to think about it since I have 6 enemy AI scripts to write up.

Hmm, just wondering if you know how to change the music in the game. Perhaps you could change the town theme to the unreleased track, if it's hidden somewhere in the file. It'd be interesting to change character themes too, since you have different characters...

I know how to change the music at one point in the game to that at another point, if that's what you're asking. For example, I can make the overworld theme the Atma Weapon music. As of now, though, I have no idea how to import new music. Otherwise, I would be all over it.

If (and hopefully when! =^_^= ) you figure out how to import music, I have a few suggestions....
Atma Battle : J.E.N.O.V.A.
The WOB to WOR sequence : O Fortuna.
Techno de Chocobo : The FFIV Chocobo theme
Dnncing Mad tiers 1-3: Theme of the new enemy

WGG, I have a few ideas of my own...the Gilgamesh theme, the boss battle themes from FFIV, etc.

Update on the Final Battle: The images are all imported and the monster formations have been changed, however, it is a little glitchy when ran. Actually, it is VERY glitchy...when I fought Chaos (the first tier), the music played fine but his image didn't load and I found my entire party to be occupied with 4 unequipped Terras with every magic spell. Anyways, after I killed Chaos, Zeromus, and Ex-Death, all of whose images didn't load at all and whose backgrounds were messed up (but that's to be expected since I fought Chaos in the desert), the battle with Kefka began. The music changed and the text appeared, but there was no Kefka. Does anybody know why this could happen, besides it being because I started in the desert?

Anyways, the statue replacement battles are going fine...the images are all set. However, I'm going to keep them secret. Well....I'll tell you that one of them is a remake of the battle with Plague from FFIV, but that's all!

I know it's possible to bring in other monsters. Not sure how you do it just now, but I may look it up. But i'm busy with... well you know what i'm working on. By the way I found a lot of information, so I need to talk with you.

As for the music you can write in your own music, but that's a lot of work.

I do know of this, but I never even TRIED experimenting with it since it would've taken so long.

Can you do something like, when you're a penguin, you randomly freeze enemies? That would be a nice side thing that may make you want to be a penguin sometimes.

Maybe you can do a relic, which inflicts Penguin status and randomly does Freeze (like Rage Ring and Blizzard Orb).

Have your Pinguin weapon randomly cast a spell.

If you have room, make a spell that sets Freeze and has no animation. Now since non-stamina spells are unblockable when randomly cast with a weapon, I suggest having Hit Rate involvement in the spell its special ability. N. Cross comes to mind. Keep in mind that Freeze cannot be protected against, so once it is set you'll have one whatever boss battle you're fighting (if you're quick and are not using Fire-elemental attacks).

Djibriel, to have a spell be randomly cast by a weapon, doesn't it have to be within the first 63 spells? This includes all the black magic, white magic, effect magic, and a few espers. So in order to have a spell be randomly used by a weapon, it would either be learnable by an esper, be an esper itself, or leave an ugly empty space in the magic list. sleep.gif Otherwise, I would be all over the penguin lance casting a freeze attack.

Hmmm... well, why not make a freeze spell that is just very, VERY hard to use? Like say, 99 MP, only taught by Ragnarok, at a .005 rate?

I suppose I could, but, like Djibriel said, there is no way to protect against freeze, so that spell has the potential to quickly become the most powerful spell in the game. There are ways to get around this, of course, such as giving it a very low success rate % (so any decent M block % would cause it to miss), or having it only hit targets whose levels are multiples of certain numbers, or having it miss completely if the target is protected from instant-kill attacks. Very tricky situation since if its success rate is too low, it will be completely useless, if hits targets whose level is a multiple of udner 4 it might be ok, but 5 and over would elimate the purpose of Lv.5 death, and having it miss if the target is protected against instant-kill attacks would eliminate the purpose of the possess blitz. Hmmm...I might have to think about this more.

BTW, spells can only be taught at rates from 0-100 (in theory, it can be taught at 255x, but my guess is that it would be very glitchy and not display correctly...for example, 100x displays as 00x). I could have it be taught at 0x by some esper just to tease you and then actually give it to you via an item of some sort...maybe the penguin shield. I don't know.

Edit
I was just looking through FF3ME and found an interesting special effect for a spell: "freeze target in ice, randomly canceled with no afte..." and gave as an example: "ex. don't loose in...". Does anybody know what the second part of the effect is? If it can be canceled somehow, then there may be a way to make this spell after all.

Don't have access to the editor right now, but the special ability you are describing sounds like that of N. Cross. Randomly misses even when its Hit Rate tells it it hits. Check the Algorithm FAQ for further details.

And I knew about the random spell limitations. I suggest doing this in hex to see if it doesn't involve bad coding from the FF3ME part. It doesn't make any immediate sense, y'see.

Why don't you just make certain bosses immune to freeze?

You would have to create an entire new check, as there's no such thing as Freeze protection.

The Penguin? It was a joke that somehow stuck. It replaces Imp, and you can get Penguin armor pieces from the Emerald Weapon, and other Weapons from FF7. Golbeze is now in the game replacing Setzer, FuSoYa replaces Strago, and Cecil replaces Cyan. Kefka now has 1,000,000 life, and you fight Zeromus and Chaos on your way to fighting Kefka. I'm sture there is more out there, but I cant think of it. Well, new weapons and stuff. Yeah.

Adma, here's the lowdown:

Penguin replaced Imp, and all the Imp equipment has been changed to penguin equipment. You can no longer find it where you could find the imp equipment. instead, you obtain these by defeating the WEAPONS from FFVII (emerald, ruby, diamond, sapphire, ultimate). Only emerald and ruby are finished...there are screenshots posted in previous pages. Many many weapons and spells have been changed, also like The 6th Lime said. The fianl battle will now consist or Chaos, Zeromus, Ex-Death, and Final Kefka in that order, and each will have approximately 2,500,000 HP. That way, the final battle will be much, much more difficult than the previous battle. Also, Kefka may have the ultimate final attack which may or may not be revealed later. Anyways, The 6th Lime was right about all the character changes, except that Sabin is now the Ghost sprite, and EVERY one of his blitzes was changed to accomodate the makeover. Also, Hidon and the Hidonites are now Warmech and the Warspecks. Very difficult and infuriating battle, however it is very beatable once you know their strategies. Many more changes to come, but that is just a quick update for you. If you have any ideas let me know. happy.gif

Edit
Ahhh I forgot abou the Gilgamesh weapons. Basically each weapon is the best in its class...you could call it an ultimate weapon I suppose. Each has a different element and chance to cast a different spell, and several have new looks (look back at page 9 or 10 for the picture of the WindFang...that's just an example of one Gilgamesh weapon. The original plan was to make Gogo into Gilgamesh and make each weapon equippable on him, but that fell through unfortunately. Gogo CAN, however, still can equip every ultimate weapon since he's a mime and often looked down upon.

Ditto that question, and also, what is the problem with changing Gogo to Gilgamesh? Is it a matter of the FFV map sprites being smaller than the FFVI sprites? I know someone a Shadow-Clyde FFVI hack with many new sprites drawn in, and they looked fine. Perhaps if we could find someone who would be willing to draw new sprites?

That is the problem exactly. I can't make a sprite to save my life. All of the custom graphics in my game were done by other members here (e.g. the WEAPONS are done by Aora, FuSoYa by Wish_Hacker, etc.). Plus I'm not sure if Gilgamesh can be made with his new palette (he shares Strago's, which is now filled with FuSoYa's colors...I doubt Gilgamesh can be made from blues and purples and a few shades of yellow).

As of now, it has not been released to the general public. I sent a copy to Djibriel for some troubleshooting and one to Phunbaba for some test runs and feedback. I would be more than happy to release a beta version, but I don't know of any reliable file hosting sites. ImageShack is great for images, but patches and savestates don't quite fit under that category. tongue.gif Another thing that's been holding me back is that there are unfinished projects all over. For example, Strago only has like 8 frames as FuSoYa. Some of the Penguin/Gilgamesh equipment can still be found in its previous locations as well. Some bosses have only half-finished AI (one of the statues, for example).

R51: The good thing about having a thread here with ideas on it is that they don't go away when I close it. Even if I don't finish the idea within a day after they're mentioned, they get done eventually. My approach to hacking is different...I'll write down all the dieas I want to include and then set aside a few hours of just working on my hack to finish all of the ideas at once. Thanks for the advice, though.

Edit
If you mentioned that because I said that "there are unfinished projects all over", then I understand where you're coming from. The unfinished projects are those which I have no control over, or am waiting to finish other things beforehand (such as finishing the enemies/bosses before alloquoting new items to be stolen or dropped).

Zophar only hosts completed hacks. The ips for the hack would only be about 50k or so, I suppose I could host it, or rather when I get web1000 working.
