I recently decided to pick up the sword and replay an old favorite of mine. Unfortunately, I had forgotten how completly and utterly brutal the game was. I could do nothing but watch as it ripped out my still beating heart and laughed as it held it out for me to see. I really had no recollection of this game being so ungodly hard. Has my talent with shooters dropped that much? Or did I simply forget how difficult this game was? Regardless, I haven't had this much fun with a video game in a long time. I had forgotten what it felt like to develop callouses on my fingers from mashing the controller.

Your thoughts?

You are right Ancient, the game is an absolute nightmare to complete!

When I had it for my SNES, I only got as far as the caverns and that was after about 2 weeks of playing!. You have got to have reactions like Bruce Lee to get anywhere in the game. I did however complete it on Rom by using the 'slowdown' key wink.gif

Ive always found the shoot'em up genre a bit tough and have only ever completed Super Aleste without cheating.
