I just played through Wind Waker and I lovedit, to me it is one of the better LofZ games. The only thing is whenever Link swings his sword he makes that wimpy sound and it gets really annoying.

I voted "Never played it", but I actually sampled it once. I did that pirate ship jumping from rope to rope scenario, and I found that the 3D perspective was a pain in there, so I didn't like it that much. Link himself also looked a bit weird--he looked like a childish idiot (no offense intended). I think that 3D graphics in general need camera control (except when it doesn't really matter, such as in FFVII battles) and better face drawing.
But I said I never played it because I can't really rate it for how much I've played of it. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. At first I had my doubts, but I had been playing, and beating, every LoZ game for as long as I can remember. So I tried it, and it was great. The graphics kinda got on my nerves at first, but they realy grow on you, and the styilazation of them made the game better. And the greatest part was the ties to all the other LoZ games.

I voted It's OK. At times I loved it, but at the end I was left dissapointed at how easy it was (from an action standpoint, not a puzzle standpoint,) and the distinct lack of dungeons. It's a quality Zelda game (as they all are) but not better than Link to the Past or Ocarina of Time.

I really liked this game, which is suprising because I won't even touch the other 3D Zelda games. This one had a nice feel to it, a large good looking world, and lots of nifty stuffs (which every Zelda should have). To me, it looked as though Nintendo was trying to go back to Zelda's roots. It ended much sooner than I thought it would, though, and like Gears, I found the fighting to easy; there seemed to be a lack of different monsters. However, poor fighting seems to be the hallmark of 3D games (as controling 3 dimentions while fighting is much harder than controling 2).
A good game overall, very nice to look at, very nice to just sail around and visit places. I loved it. |

I didn't have the patience for constantly traveling across the ocean looking for stuff and having to deal with the wand everytime I wanted to change directions. The game would have been a lot more fun with an ultra powerful talking Kawasaki Jet Ski. Wind Waker is easily the most tedious Zelda game to date. In Ocarina of Time at least you got a horse after a while and the fields weren't even that big. Why not a talking Jet Ski for Wind Waker? Ugh.
I voted "I didn't like it". The graphics were very well done though I don't like the new look for Link. Bring back the young and adult Link from Ocarina of Time! I want to hear "oooiiiitt diitt!!" everytime adult Link lands from a long fall. LOL! -------------------- FFXI (Siren server) Tauu the Windurstian Tarutaru! White Mage & Paladin |

Despite my numerous problems with the game (not enough dungeons, far too easy, and so on) I loved it. WW is one of those rare games that somehow rises far, far above the sum of its parts. It was just so much fun to play, probably because the universe was constructed flawlessly. Every character, item, and graphic felt like it really belonged. I could probably count the number of games released in the last five years that are as immersive as WW on my fingers.

I played it for a few hours, then became extremely bored with it. I've never been bored, not once, in any Zelda game, so I was irrationally pissed off. Consequently I took it back to Blockbuster the next day, and haven't played it since.

I like the idea of the Zelda games but i just hate link for some reason. Actually, i hate most elves who dont have Starcannons...or spaceships... or a galaxy-wie empire that got destroyed by some chaos god.
So i'll never play it . But i will laugh at how stupid it looks... -------------------- "Only the dead have seen the end of their quotes being misattributed to Plato." -George Santayana "The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here..." -Abraham Lincoln, prior to the discovery of Irony. |

I loved it, just like I've loved basically every Legend of Zelda game I've ever played. The amount of fun to be had in the game is almost doubled by the sheer indignance of every whiny 13-year-old who choked on the realization that "Celda" was actually just as good as all the others.

I have the Zelda Collectors edition for Game Cube which has a 20 min. demo of the Wind Waker on it which I played and didn't think it was that bad...when the game drops below $50 I will buy it.Then I'll decide whether I love it or not.

Wind Waker became my new favorite Zelda. My previous favorite was Link to The Past. Link to The Past was previously my favorite game of all time. I'm sure you can connect the dots.
I know a lot of people loved Ocarina of Time, but I didn't. Since childhood I've had the association that young link = good, old link = bad. So maybe that affected my opinion of Ocarina of Time, I had a problem with Young Link being a goof and Adult Link being the "real hero". So I was one of the very few people who was excited to see where they were going with Wind Waker. And then it turned out better than I expected. The puzzle element was terrific, the graphics were terrific, and the whole islands on the map I felt was a throwback to the original with it's "secrets on every map screen". -------------------- "That Light has bestowed upon me the greatest black magic!" |

It ain't that fun. Its already been said to be the worst Zelda game sides the side-scrolling one (and I thought that one was better) And its not just for the cellshading. The story was pitiful, the characters, the quests....ARR!
