My favorite FF girl is Quistis 'cuz her and I have so much in common, it's as if Square created a duplicate copy of my personality on a female in a Final Fantasy, no joke.

My three favorites are all the little girls, partly because they have awesome themes, partly due to the fact that they have funny personalities.

My favourite overall is definitely Celes. Broken down by game,

FFIV: Rosa
FFVI: Celes
FFVII: Tifa
FFVIII: Fujin (RAGE)
FFIX: ...does Quina count? The only characters I liked were Quina, Vivi, and Steiner.
FFX: Lulu (but Yuna was okay, too)

im gonna have to say rikku. she didnt fit in with that overplayed "boy meets girl" formula that is ever-present in final fantasy games, and wasnt too weak or useless to keep around. i find more use for her than i do with lulu, and i flat out cant stand yuna, so i took rikku outta the three from that particular game.

ff games have always had great characters and the heroines are no exception. who is your favorite?? (i tried to pick ones that were the biggest in each game but for FF4, FF6, and FF7 i had to split cuz the heroine role was shared to some degree)

anyway, i gotta pick Aeris. Shes such a good match for Cloud and shes mysterious too. Tho Celes is a strong runner up... what do you think??

I was torn between Rydia and Celes. Both are pure-hearted individuals, Rydia being a summoner and black wizard, and Celes being a Magitek Knight. In the end, I chose Celes mostly because of her attitude and her weapons and armor.

Definitely Celes. She's got the personality, the combat skills, and the general, all-around coolness. Yuna and Tifa were okay, and, for some reason, I still kinda like Rosa...even though she's kinda lame.

I can't stand any of the other characters on the list.

hmm i gotta say Aeris just cuz shes such a good match in the love triangle between her Cloud and Tifa. shes also really mysterious.

Celes is hard to beat too, shes really cool and i love how she takes the spotlight at the beginning of the WOR.

but aeris is my pick.

The only “new” Final Fantasy games I like are FF7 and FFT, so Garnet, Eiko, etc., are not even close to my favorite Final Fantasy girl.

My top 5

1. Meliadoul (FFT)
2. Agrias Oaks (FFT)
3. Celes Chere (FF6)
4. Rydia (FF4)
5. Aeris Gainsborough (FF7)

In many ways, Meliadoul, Agrias, and Celes have a lot in common. Both are pure-hearted knights who will pursue what they believe is right no matter the cost. All three worked for evil people until they realized the truth. Both are incredibly devoted and loyal. I like Meliadoul slightly more than the other two because of her abilities as a Divine Knight.

I like Rydia solely for her Black Magic and Call abilities.

The mysterious half-Cetra Aeris has immense magical abilities. Unfortunately, Sephiroth kills her so that she can’t interfere with his schemes. The fact that she died probably contributes to her being on this list.

Celes was an incredibly well written character, one of the best in any game, I thought.

Terra was pretty well written as well.

Celes!! Definitely Celes

Well, it's hard to say my absolute favorite so like others I'll list per game ones instead:

FF IV; Rydia; to make it short, she had a certain flair to her and wasn't cliché like Rosa.

FF VI; Do I realy have to choose? They are all great characters and I find them to have equal merits. What? Relm's my (current) avatar because I find her to be a good repusentaion of me, not because she's my favorite.

FF VII; Tifa, she was a good friend to Cloud who stuck it to the end. Also she didn't

FF VIII; Selphie; (I bet you didn't see that one coming) What most people call annoying, I call spunky and helpful (not in a fight however . . .). However if she had a voice actor, it would have been entirely different. Thank god FF VIII was mute, eh?

FF T; Out of the special characters Arargis, because she speaks her mind, is there from the begining, head smart, loyal and trustworthy. If only more people were like her, the world would be a better place. Out of all the characters, it would be my Priest followed by my Monk. They have saved many lives and have proved themselves to be infinitly useful.

Out of the bad "guys" I can't think of any otherwise they would be listed above probably. Honerable mentions to Marle, Lucca and Princess Peach Toadstool of the Mushroom Kingom. You girls don't count only because you weren't in a FF game but you would have been in there if you were. (Other runner-ups not listed because I can't think of any that were in a game made by Square. [Peach was found in the Square/Nintendo joint "Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars" if you were wondering.])

it's a difficult decision. I would have to go with Lulu or Lede.

My overall favorite is Terra 'cause, like Celes, she's strong in magic, physical attacks, and defense, yet she always seems to kick a lot more ass than Celes. At least in my games.

Oh yeah! And she's a shapeshifter with green hair. Gotta love that! For the other games:

FFI - Kary, the Fiend of Fire. She's a Fiend...of FIRE!
FFII - Layla. PIRATE!! She's also pretty useful in battle and you can use her ship.
FFIII - Delilah. Who doesn't like this old hag, her sunglasses, and her crazy exploding shoes?
FFIV - Rydia. Because I'm sure not gonna pick Rosa.
FFV - Faris. Pirates, just... Arrr.
FFVI - Terra, for reasons stated above. She has a great story, in addition.
FFVII - Ugh, do I have to? Hmm...I guess that little girl in Junon whose name I can't remember, but she has a dolphin friend. You're cool if you talk to dolphins...
FFVIII - Quistis, 'cause she tells Rinoa off a few times.
FFIX - Beatrix. She's so much like Celes. It'd be Freya if I used her more.
FFX - Lulu, 'cause she tells Tidus off a few times.
FFT - Agrias. Loyal, strong fighter, has useful skills, and has a great personality.

I'll do like Forky did and work through the games as well as postin' one overall favourite.

FFI - Erm... Matoya. I have a thing for blind witches. Rawr.
FFII - The... um... lady. Leader of the rebels. Was it Princess Hilda? O.o Her.
FFIII - Unne. Enough said.
FFIV - I'm not sure. I didn't like any of them too much.
FFV - Faris. She's tough, stylish and she was HAWT in that dress in Tycoon. There, I said it. I find a 16-bit sprite hot.
FFVI - I hated Terra (though she was well-developed and interesting), and disliked Celes, so that leaves one option - Matron.
FFVII - Yuffie. She was pretty funny.
FFVIII - Hmm... I really liked both Quistis and Rinoa. Rinoa didn't fall into any massive stereotypical roles, and Quistis had the brains as well as the beauty. (I'm pathetic.)
FFIX - None come to mind.
FFX - Yuna was nice enough, and by far the best out of the three. She just went 'uh' too much.
I haven't played FFT.

If it came down to it, it'd end up being between Yuffie, Quistis and Yuna.

I love Terra and Celes (in a non-lesbian way lol). They're both totally awesome and my favorite heroines ever, Final Fantasy or otherwise.

I think Final Fantasy has particularly good heroines because most of them are strong but still feminine. They don't fall into the stereotypes of the damsel in distress or the coarse warrior in a chainmail bra. They seem a lot more like real women, and that's something that video games need. I know a lot of them are geared towards a male audiance, but Final Fantasy doesn't portray women stupidly as a lot of games do. It's great to see well-developed, realistic, intelligent, interesting female characters who (for the most part) don't wear degrading costumes.
