Someone inquired about this in the Rare Summons Topic .. So what exactly is this? Before the thread I never heard of it or anything, so I'm naturally very interested in it as well.

Rydia's most powerful whip. I can't remember any othe special characteristics, though. Check Ben Siron's FF2 guide for more information.

Edit: I remember one other thing. You can't buy or find it. It is a rare weapon won from a certain enemy or certain enemies in the Lunar Subterrane.

Why go all the way to another site, when you can just go to the website that is attatched to the forums. Look, it even gives a location. It's a rare drop, though.
It gives a boost in strength (+5, I think) and I think it may give an equal drop in wisdom and will.

Does the will stat have a use on Rydia? I mean, to my knowledge she doesn't use white magic anymore after becoming an adult.

Wisdom and will are both used to determine Magic Defense

And just making sure: are you speaking of a boost or a drop in wisdom and will? I just re-read your post and it surprised me.

I know that you can only get these things from the Blue Dragons, but has anyone had success with Edge stealing a Dragon Whip from a Blue Dragon? I've tried a few times to no avail. Any luck?

It cannot be stolen from the Blue Dragon. It can only be dropped. IIRC, Each monster from FFIV only has one item to be stolen (in infinite amounts), and whatever you're getting is all that the Dragon will give up.

um who cares about the whip, most of the time you are using magic and summoning so who cares about an increase in atk power, in short
Rydia is a MAGIC USER!!! not a FIGHTER!!!

Lets get down to business shall we, Serpert/Dragon Whip.

+55 Attack (+80 in FF2us, i think)
+5 Str, Agi, Vit
-5 Wis, Wil

(almost like that Assassin Dagger & Death Sword)

It is definately worth equipping, anywhere in the game (after you aquire it ofcourse) its got the added bonus of x2 to x4 damage vs Dragon type of monsters.. regardless of the tiny drop in Wis/Wil, its a valuable weapon. But, i suppose it depends on the player.. or the perfectionist, lmao.. those who cant bare to see stats go down by a tiny smudge, dont equip it.. those who want to kick some ass, equip it.

Eh, a 5 drop in Wis/Wil will hardly effect the strength of Bahamut, Flare or Meteo for that matter.. so, no biggie IMO. biggrin.gif
