I was looking at the 'Simpsons did it' topic, and one thought jumped to my head: Family Guy.
Edgar = Quagmire (Both are so randy they'd **** a post) Cyan = Mr. Weed Gau = Peter Griffin Relm = Meg Griffin Strago = Creepy Old Dude (The one in the bathrobe, with the walker) Mog = Brian Umaro = Chris Griffin Sabin = Joe Celes = Asian Reporter Trisha Takanawa Terra = Lois Kefka = Stewie (Who better?) None of these fit.
Edgar and Quagmire are like that, but nowhere in the same way. Gau says weird things because of lack of socialization. Peter says stupid things becasue of lack of intelligence. How would Joe do a Bum Rush? Stewie is "evil scientist" evil. Kefka is "psychotic" evil. I agree with DP. Id prefer not to see a decent idea Butchered and overdone.

While I hafta agree the whole idea is thin on it's own, I'm just mystified by the Gau/Peter connection. I don't see what a thirteen year old wild child has to do with a thirty something catholic father of three. Locke maybe, but not Gau.
