I do think now that the next possible one for "Discuss Whoever's Identity Here" should definitely be this one: "Discuss Sigfried's Identity And/Or How To Acquire Him Here", since that he may be some other character like Baram, yet that we don't know that for certain, and that also that every time that I run into battle with him or his impersonator, either that it's Siegfried or Ziegfried, that it always seems like that there's some way or other to get him to join the other party members for the rest of the game, like other rumors elsewhere on the Internet are also indicating about his identity and/or about how to acquire him. >Danny<

For some reason, I also feel like he has some importance to the game and not just "thrown in there".
To me, he kind of sounds like Baram possibly (also why he is so weak), but I doubt it. Not sure who else it could be though...other than Siegfried |

Hmmm.... this could be put under the same category as the Gogo forums. Interesting.

it always seems like that there's some way or other to then really get him to join the other party members for the rest of the game a"ter that As at least one person brought up in another topic where you mentioned this, he doesn't have a set of party battle sprites. Kefka does; Leo does; Siegfried doesn't. There's no way for him to join, whatever the truth of his identity. |

I have a save state right where he first plops down on the train and steals your treasure, and I've tried several ways to make this play out differently but it just doesn't work... one of FF6's many mysteries I suppose

I just plain love the guy. Wrote a fanfic starring him, in fact. He is the best swordsman of the world (Cyan generally bites the dust when facing him in the Colloseum) and he's got such a name for him that he's even got some lousy thief pretending to be him!
What more could you want? Why, God, Why was the fight with him dummied? "Someone posing as me has been stealing treasures! Beware of being tricked! Remember. rewards come to unavaricious people. Well. let's begin!" -------------------- |

Statistically the man's a beast, probably the second strongest non boss in the game, after the Brachosaur. Over 30,000 HP, incredible stats...the strange thing about him though is that he is weak against every element in the game, which is just bizarre. Try finding comfort from that fact when you're on the receiving end of his Hyperdrive attack.

The weakness to most elements was probably because Square wanted to signify him being weak against magic... but I've never even looked at the guy's stats, so I'm probably wrong.

Do you think that possibly his imposter is Baram? A few of Shadow's dreams kind of point towards him being Siegfried...
One dream Possible spoilers: highlight to view . Now that shows him in Phantom Forest, exactly where Seigfried is. Also, this would mean that Baram took up a new name as well, what if the new name was Seigfried? shows Clyde and Baram walking from the Phantom Train in the Phantom Forest, and Baram says they should have new names, hence why Clyde is named Shadow Another dream shows Possible spoilers: highlight to view . What happened to Baram after this? Did he just die? I don't think so...I think he draped himself in a lot of clothing and kept his new name, Seigfried, and lived on. Maybe if you fight Seigfried in the colliseum with Shadow, and beat him, something happens? Worth a try I guess... Baram hurt and dying, and telling Clyde to go ahead and leave him, and to kill him because he doesn't want to be caught. But Clyde leaves Baram there instead. |

Nothing happens when you manage to beat Siegfried with Shadow. And besides, I'm pretty sure that the original Japanese version mentions that the both of them would take the name Shadow, which is hinted at in the American version as well: After Baram suggests the name 'Shadow', Clyde will doubt it and say: "Great trainrobbers of the century...Shadow?"
Oh well, Siegfried remains a mystery. -------------------- |
