ok i was wondering if anyone knew of any glitches on the cart that are little spoken of and have (sometimes) positive effects. I know of one that has no effect on the game whatsoever but fun to do. if you go to the rich persons house when you first get celes, you go to the door that you "find" with the clock puzzle. open the door and go into the dorrway without actually going into the door and go to the menu. now change the first person in tha party. the door glitches over the person (half the body is gone!) and the record player is glitched out. to get out simply walk down and go through the door normally. it doesnt do anything spectacular, it is just a funny glitch.
ps: DONT POST FAKE GLITCHES!

How about: http://masterzed.web1000.com/gamedocs/ff3bug.txt

Never heard of that one though. I'll try confirming it tomorrow, after I've slept.

Eh...you can in fact be in that situation naturally, since Zone Eater uses both Cold Dust and Engulf. And Demi. But abnormal status ailments such as a petrify/zombie/float combo can occur. I've always hated the Sketch Bug. Sketch is so weak...and therefore makes the battels more interesting.

No, I know it's her Sketch bug because just before that I had used Sketch, and the reason I couldn't move is because that Demi ball just kept looping itself on a never-ending cycle.

I heard about that glitch, I actualy tried it once and it did not work, so i guess it was a rumor.

Yes, the Sketch glitch exists. As far as I'm aware, it only exists in FF3us 1.0, not version 1.1 or FF6j. I'd check that with MZ's document, except that Web1000 still hates me.

In any case, it's not in all versions.

Let me scrape together the info that I have:

FF6j did not have the glitch, and it was accidentaly integrated in the transfer between Japan and the U.S. Ofcourse, 99 Illumina's kinda made the game a piece of cake (what it already was, by the way), so when version 1.1 was released, Square made sure that the bug was out.

Info was taken from Master ZED and Sky Render's list of changes.

Note that I personally have only experienced Sketch glitches involving the battle to freeze up and my characters in abnormal status ailments involving floating dead people and stuff like that. I never tried to consciously get the "good" Sketch glitch to work, but a warning: the Sketch Bug supposedly has the power to erase all safe files, the one you're currently playing or at least freeze the battle. Use caution.

By the way, I always thought it to be bizarre that nobody ever created a Sketch bug patch. I see a mission on the horizon...

Unfortunately, I forgot about it until I saw this thread just now...

just after I released a new version of the guide. sad.gif

Anyway, I tried it in the WOR, it's real. I'm guessing the time at which you try it doesn't matter since you said it could be done while rescuing Celes. The record player bugging up is pretty strange as well. Good work on finding this, it will see the light of day in the next guide version. smile.gif

Here's the South Figaro bug description that will appear in the guide, it clarifies the bug's execution a little more:

Rich man's basement door doesn't like being opened for no reason -

At South Figaro, go to the basement of the rich man's house where you rescue Celes, and then
go to the room where you use the old clock-key. Go to the door you uncover by winding the
clock, open it, then enter and exit the subscreen. Once you return from the subscreen,
you'll find that the door has shut itself and the graphics of the record player beside it
have glitched up. The door will shut even if you're standing inside of it, which will
result in the upper half of your lead character being completely hidden from view until you
step away from the door. You can fix this bug by exiting and reentering the room. You can
open the door again and glitch the game over and over without leaving the room, but the same
junk graphics always appear.

It's not that great of a glitch, but I've somehow had all 4 party members petrified or dead but not gotten a game over. In fact, I have a saved game (on the actual snes cartidge) that's like that. Everything works like normal unless I enter a battle (instant game over). I'm not sure how it happened exactly but I was fighting in the dino forest with a few members of my party petrified and somehow got this glitch.

I've also gotten a glitch from Relm sketching a Crawler while she was poisoned. One of my characters turned into General Leo, another one turned into a green, morphed, kneeling Terra. I think I also got a Moogle and garbage pixels for the other 2 characters - I don't remember, it was a long time ago. It froze up right after that, so it's not a useful glitch, but maybe interesting.

The sketch glitch that gets you lots of stuff *does* work but I've found that it's really unpredictable. Some games it just won't work at all, no matter what I do. And sketching Gau and some of the other ways people say work the best have never worked for me - only sketching invisible Test Riders. I don't know - maybe it has something to do with how you play the game?

(I got Terra with Celes' colors one time, but that was playing around with Game Genie codes and a Rom. She's pretty as a blonde though. happy.gif)

It could be a variation of the Sketch Bug (only God knows what the possible effects of it are), but it's most likely that one of your petrified characters got Sneezed away by a Brachosaur and the rest was killed. The petrified character had now 'run away' and re-assembled the team, but everybody had a status that was regarded 'Death'. It's a well-known but and has other variations including Zombies and the like.

I had a look at the South Figaro bug. Pretty neat. I discovered that you can also walk to the right, trough the messed up phonograph, but you can't walk back to the left.

I experianced Relm's sketch bug on the Floating continent.

The menu boxes became triangular, Lead character disappeared, 2nd character petrified, 3rd(Rlem) frozen in fighting stance, 4th just didn't move.

Before the game froze, I had control of Celes(lead). I took a look at the magic and found she had 0/0mp, all the spells(attack, status, heal) where fire, and she could use some of them.

After I selected attack, the game froze. I told my friend who is an FF6 fanatic about it and he said it was Relm's sketch glitch.
