Here's anothre mystery no one's ever really looked into. In the flashbacks in the Ruined Castle, they show King Odin being defeated by some mysterious white-hooded person. Is it some sort of poltergueist? I've guessed the Magi Master because he has the same field sprite and the magical powers. Or could it have some other tie in to the story?

I think that that's just another esper. Doesn't it say that Odin did battle with other espers? That's what I remember reading in the game. I doubt it has anything to do with the MagiMaster, although they both have powerful magic, I'd presume.
(On the other hand, has anybody wondered why Magimaster doesn't have a palette swap of #128's sprite?) -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. I think its just another Esper too, and there was no real need seen for a whole new sprite by the developers.

Well, it would make something new for people making prequels to look into. The Magi Master or some wicked-ass esper.
(Or following SilverMaduin's "War of the Magi" fanfiction you could even say it was Zimon, Kefka's ancestor) By the way, nice song post, SM. ![]() This post has been edited by Sherick on 25th April 2004 16:39 -------------------- I fear my heart and fear my soul Life goes on, it surely will, Without me and I wonder: Will I ever see light again? Well, Kefka had quite a bit of magicite. My guess is if it was an esper, the remains belong to him.

Like I said, let the prequel people figure that one out.

It's probably NOT another Esper...(sorry). The game tells us about a powerful wizard. " The greatest sorcerer ever", as the official Japanese version states. So nah, no Esper. What I always liked was the fact that petrification is the easiest way of beating Odin in FF V...and you fought him in a similair castle. Could it be that this shadowy sorcerer is in fact....
One of the Light Warrios from FF V? (eerie drumroll) -------------------- |

There are a lot of arguments against it, really:
There are four Light Warrios, only one phantom-type attacker. In FF V Odin is an honorable Esper creating terms in which he will fight (give me one minute or I'll Zantetsuken your be-hinds), in FF VI he'll whine and beg. The Light Warrios probably never laughed evilish before attacking him. And there' s the non-existent attack and other people present that don't appear in FF V that make the whole idea not very credible. But still...it WOULD be fun. -------------------- |
