everyone is revealed to have been everyone else's adopted sibling, all taken cage of as children by the evil sorceress who they're trying to kill, but they forgot it all because of the GFs' amazing memory-erasing powerz,

FFIV - The twins getting petrified. I nearly cried! I loved those guys!
And then there was Tellah dying - like, permanently dying. Which was sad.
Cid as a whole was a shocker. He blows himself up... comes back... blows himself up... comes back... blows himself up... comes back... there's no keeping him down!

FFVI - Shadow staying behind in Kefka's tower. After all I went through to save you at the end of the WoB, you bastard... mumble mumble...
Then there was Kefka killing Leo and Gestahl.

FFTA - When I found out that Doned (Marche's brother) is the one setting up the traps for Marche later in the game. I didn't even figure he'd made it into Ivalice in the first place.

FFVII- when Sephiroth killed Aeris. as soon as he did that, it made him one of the most notorious bosses i've ever fought.(at least in my mind)

FFVIII- when i found out that Rinoa was actually a sorceress. didn't see that one comin...seriously.

FFX- 1. when i found out that Sin was Tidus's dad. 2. when i found out that Tidus was a dream and would disappear when they beat Sin. 3. when Yunalesca revealed that their beliefs were keeping Sin alive. the very thing that had kept them going the entire game was the reason Sin existed. 4. the ending, i nearly cried.

good form, i gotta say

aeris getting killed by sephiroth is hands down the biggest shocker in ff history. it hit me hard. i guess for some reason i was also surprised when kefka poisoned all of doma, up til then it seemed like a lighthearted game and kefka wasnt THAT bad. ff7 is btw the best storyline of all the ffs.

Moderator Edit
Good effort for trying to use the spoiler tag, but is it too much effort to check that it's worked and fixing it if not? Always close the tags... -Tiddles

Could You put your stuff in psoiler tags please you hit spoiler on the post menu, type your text and then hit spioler again. like this see the spiler tag at begining of post. You go to edit first as well.

Moderator Edit
Could you stop saying "U" please. It's not a word. Also, leave it for a moderator to point such things out. Also, congratulations on making the problem worse by quoting the unspoilered text without fixing it. -Tiddles

I admit that FF7 had some moments that I would consider shocking, but unfortunately most of the plot had been spoiled for me, including that Aeris moment to which almost everyone has alluded.

Fortunately, FF4-FF6 were never spoiled for me.

My most shocking moment is from FF4 when Tellah

Possible spoilers: highlight to view
actually dies to cast Meteo. Sure, we’d heard from others that Meteo would kill him, but before FF4, I had never played a game where the main character actually died.

Also from FF4, when Palom and Porom

Possible spoilers: highlight to view
turn themselves to stone to save the party in Baron. Their revival was less shocking; I expected that the Mysidian Elder would find some way to revive them.

A shocking moment from FF5 is when Galuf

Possible spoilers: highlight to view
died to save the party. I’d gone through the whole game thinking these were the only four characters I’d have, and then Krile replaced Galuf. (Fortunately, she came with all of Galuf’s abilities learned.)

A shocking moment from FF6 is when General Leo

Possible spoilers: highlight to view
was murdered by Kefka. I knew he wouldn’t join the party (because you couldn’t access his equipment), but I was still hoping that he would join the Returners.

Another one is when Gau

Possible spoilers: highlight to view
meets his Dad in the World of Ruin, and his father didn’t even acknowledge him. The reason this surprised me is that when I had brought Gau to his Dad’s house in the World of Balance, nothing unusual happened.

most shocking moment was starting to play ff8 and realizing how terrible the magic system was...after a game like 7 (truly a masterpiece) you'd think that the next one wouldn't suck so much!
Oh yeah...aeris getting sliced up was pretty shocking/amazing...it took my breath away...and the best part was that it was in no way spoiled for me since i was being a psx nazi that night and stayed up til like 4 in the morning all by myself)

FFIV
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
Cecil becoming a Paladin, and Kain's two betrayls

FFV
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
The death of Galuf; now that I know it happened, I myself never got past the part with the Ghost Ship and the Siren boss

FFVI
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
The poisoning of Doma, General Leo's death scene, and watching Shadow let himself die in the tower after I made the effort to bring him into the Word of Ruin; ungrateful Mercenary!

FFVII
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
Finding out about Vincent's Past

Those are about it.

My biggest moments was Doma being poisoned and Gilgmesh beating Necron
