I was just wondering how many of CoN's wonderful patrons listen to Daft Punk. I have been an avid fan of the duo since the album Homework, and have just recently rekindled my love for their music.
I also wanted to know how many people have seen their movie: Interstella 5555. Set to the music of the album Discovery, their japanese animation film follows the order of the CD with absolutely no dialogue. The animation was headed by famed artist Leiji Matsumoto, and is superb. If you love techno OR japanese animation, I highly suggest viewing the film. The plot, even with the lack of dialogue, flows impeccably as the emotion and action of its characters are captured both by their gestures as well as the music. -------------------- Je ne t'aime plus, Mon amour... I didn't have the chance to go watch it in theaters, since it's release date coincided with the "festival de Cannes", and there was a lot of movies released the week after, so it got cut after a lousy 3 weeks period.
Anyway, I got it at christmas, and I love it : I saw the first 5 on tv, since the singles were available, but I really like what they did with the other songs. It has a good flow, and I love Daft Punk's music (and they're little frenchies, so I'm ridiculously proud) This post has been edited by Mr Thou on 4th May 2004 09:04 |

I have heard some of their music...I don't really care for it even though some of the people I know listen to them alot...I didn't know they had a movie though...I might have to check it out some time just to give it a try.

I
![]() Homework is one of my alltime favorite albums, and Discovery was excellent as well. However I have never seen one of their videos, or the movie you're talking about. I should really check them out. -------------------- "My impersonation of an ordinary person was flawless." - Neal "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." - Dr. Seuss |
