I'm curious about the craziest battle situation you've ever encountered, and whether or not you ended up winning the battle.
Here's what happened to me once: Since I rarely ever used Mog, Gau, Gogo and Locke(I now use Locke all the time), I decided to put them all on one team in Kefka's Tower and use the Moogle Charm to avoid battles. Unfortunately, this team had to fight Doom. So, I started up the battle. Locke, being low in level, died. Mog was Dancing, Gogo was Mimicing Mog and Gau was Raging. I had absolutely no control over the battle. I didn't know what I was going to do. I didn't want to restart because Kefka's Tower can take a while to get through. So, I just sat and watched it happen, and eventually...I won! I couldn't believe it. Mog and Gogo were doing such little damage, I'm surprised they were actually able to finish the battle. That was probably my coolest FF6 moment ever. ![]() -------------------- --sbq92 <>< |

I had quite a similair expierience, i was fighting Atma weapon on the floating continent and i was using Shadow (duh) sabin, mog and strago. Strago and sabin had been killed by Flare, and Mog was dancing and managed to heal himself. Shadow was jumping with dragon boots, but once he landed and was about to revive sabin he too was killed. So mog kept attacking and randomly healing and i sat and watched this for close to 8 minutes. Surprisingly enough i won! And Mog only 14 Hp left, lol.

Well I didn't have anything too serious. I was fighting Magimaster at the top of the tower. I had just killed him when he hit me with Ultima and Locke was the only one to survive with 600 HP left. I have no clue how he was the only one to live.
My party was Locke, Celes, Terra, and Edgar. |

I don't really know how anyone could have trouble with MagiMaster... just equip Wall Rings to all your characters and go have lunch.
![]() EDIT: Oh yeah, he does Ultima. Forgot about that. Oh well, its rare, so just use Potions and X-Potions if he casts Ultima. My craziest battle experience... nothing too severe, but I had to beat Poultergeist with four of my weakest characters one time. I won, but not easily at all. I had Mog, Setzer, Relm, and Cyan. Mog was dancing, so I had no control over him. Relm and Setzer are just plain weak, so they were my magic users. Cyan had Offering/Gengi Glove, but he was getting killed the most (Poultergeist strategizes, I'm led to believe.) Thank goodness that the other two statues were fought by better partys, and I won those battles almost instantly. Figaro-Magimaster ALWAYS casts Ultima when you kill him....
I've never had a crazy battle, because I am a power leveler-meaning I fight insane amounts of random battles and I'm always more than strong enough to take the enemies out. |

Definitely has to be my encounter with the Storm Dragon on my last playthrough.
I decided that this time I was going to beat all the dragons without using Vanish + Doom/X-Zone. I ended up having to fight the Storm Dragon twice because he whooped my ass the first time. ![]() I knew well enough to not equip the Ice Shield and gave them all Espers that I figured would help them out. Celes was level 30, the Figaro boys and Setzer were all level 29. Versus a level 72 dragon. ![]() Seriously, I was hanging on by a thread throughout most of the fight--he'd kill off 2 or 3 of my characters and when I revived them, he'd just kill them off again before I could heal them. The only reason I managed to beat him was because he ran out of MP. -------------------- -=Signature Under Construction=- |

All of my early play through's involved just that situation. I would go get Cyan first as I thought was suggested and try to take on that storm dragon with a very weak party. Without question it was the hardest battle in the game.

Solution to the Magimaster thing: cast Life 3 on your party members, then cast Reflct. They should keep it until the end, if I'm not mistaken.

I was attemping a low-level challenge of sorts, so when I got to the Magimaster I was horribly underleveled. I beserked him and went invisible like I normally do, but then I realized that I didn't have anyone who had learned Life3 yet (terrible preparation on my part). So, I had no choice but to sit there and try to osmose/rasp him to death. When you're underleveled and rasping for like 80-100 mps at a time, it equates the crappiest fight ever. I started looking around for something heavy to weight down the action button with and finally ended up taping it down with masking tape.. I never did find out exactly how long it took (other than under 3 hours), because I went to lunch and a movie.

Most amazing battle: One time I had Umaro, Gau, Gogo, and some other character in my party when I finally got to the top of the "obelisk" and faced Kefka. But somehow I timed that Megalixir just too late that the person to use it (my fourth character, who I think was Setzer, Sabin, or Edgar). Now Gogo was muted by Train, and couldn't heal herself/himself or others because he/she didn't have the Item command. Needless to say, Gogo fell not long after, and then Gau, but Umaro just kept on fighting. When his HP went down to a point where I knew the next 2 hits would kill him, Kefka attacked him and took that number down to about 225 HP or so. Then he did about 2100 something damage to Kefka and won the battle.

But a very powerful insane angelic demonic clown.
![]() Anwyay, my wierdest battle was with Wrexsoul. I don't even remember who was in the party, but I killed my characters, revived them, and killed them again for about a whole HOUR until I finally got him. Not too funny the way I said it, but it was really wierd. >_> -------------------- ~Status Report~ * Completed... Dragon's Head * Completed... i'm an addicted lower level player... i don't have that much patience to wait around and level up... and each time i play i try to go all the way through the game and finish with a level lower than the last time i played... therefore most of my battles are crazy... but the one i always have trouble with is the tentacles in the engine in figaro in the beginning of the WoR... these things always give me a problem... i can always get them down to only one tentacle left... however one 2 out of my 3 characters are poisoned, one is usually dead, one is usually attached (i don't remember the attack, but it's the one where the tentacle grabs a character and drains it's life it goes for 3-5 turns or something like that) and the other is trying to heal and revive like crazy... i have only won in this situation once i was SOOOOO happy

Mine is also in the colluseum, I had Edgar with a gem box offering combo, just betting random items to see if I could find something nifty. As usual I bet something and I fought Chupon, so I'm expecting to get sneezed out and move on to the next random item. However, when Edgar attacked first he cast Stop on Chupon, and some other random attack spell. The Stop actually worked, and Chupon sat there and let Edgar beat away on him until he died. I couldn't believe it, I didn't think it was possible. And my prize, one whole Elixer, [SIZE=1]whoo hoo.

Mine was against Wrexsoul...he had possesed Celes and it was my first time through so I didnt know what to do or what he had done so I let Gau and Mog go crazy (dancing and rage-ing) then I got the bright idea to summon Shiva with Stezer...well Shiva killed the mini-souls and I won...only because Wrexsoul wasnt on the screen.

I've been playing through again this past week, and I happened upon another crazy battle situation, but I lost this one...
I was fighting the two Cranes just after finishing the Magitek Factory, and I was trying to Steal from them but kept failing. Meanwhile, I was trying to stay alive, so I was healing the best I could with Cure, but things weren't going very well. So, I decided to go with Setzer's Slots, and as I press "A" three times, "BAR" showed up three times. I immediately thought, "Uh, oh. Did I just get Joker Doom?" Then it said "Purifier" on the top of the screen, and I thought, "Purifier? A status-healing ability with 'BAR BAR BAR?'" Then, my characters disappeared, and the screen faded to a dark blue. Suddenly...Crusader appeared! "ZOOM! SWISH! SLICE!" Several thousand damage to each of my characters and close to 2000 to each of the Cranes. My characters all collapsed. The Crane on the right flashed as though to make a move, then died. The one on the left followed suit, and then the dreaded "Annihilated..." appeared... It was crazy. ![]() -------------------- --sbq92 <>< |

I stole an economizer from an Aquila in the colliseum, and then spent the rest of turns casting antdot until I died. I almost had a fit.

I just about cried after I set Mog to Snowman Jazz dance and Gau to the White Dragon rage. I only had control over Locke, so he of course dies off in like 3 rounds. Then Umaro ate it pretty hard. So I was left with just Gau and Mog. For some reason, I had given both of them Flame Shields though, so everytime she did the fire attack (Fire 3?) I just got healed. Twice in a row though, both of them were so close to death that had she lauched any attack other than that at either of them, I'd be screwed. But lo and behold, each time I'm close to death, she goes for the fire attack. Took like twenty minutes because they didn't really do much damage to her. -------------------- "I was using a metaphor. My craziest battle i had to say was when i had umaru celes and edgar and i was fighting moe larry and curly and celes and edgar were turned to stone and umaru wasjust attacking and i couldnt controll him. well they kept on attacking my other guys but they never touched umaru. that battle finally finished once he killed off the right one in the right order! I'd say the battle took about 45 minutes i went and watched the matrix revolutions and came back to find him standing there in victory!

Ugh, I don't know how many times I've been in a situation where all but one of my party members were otherwise useless, and only one could do any damage.
I remember one fight from FF6 where Locke, Celes, and two others (I think it was Relm and Cyan) were fighting those big skeleton things in a sand dune. The ones that do sand storm. Relm and Cyan were gone nearly from the start (paralyzed), and Locke kept dying. I was alternating between having Celes revive Locke, and having her attack the thing, but since she was low on HP and that thing attacks hard, I also had to use a turn to heal her. He'd always manage to take out Locke before I could heal him too, and I didn't have any items that got rid of paralysis. I did eventually win, but it was an annoying battle. -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

Wow, I never knew how many people used Umaro, Gau, and Mog's dances! I mainly leave Umaro and Gau on the sidelines, and Mog basically becomes a dragoon when I play.
