What did Celes do to become a traitor it never really says at leat I dont think it does. And some times I think that since kefka was always trying to get rid of his superiors (Example-leo, Gesthal etc.) maybe he saw Celes as a threat and tricked everyone she was traitor as to get rid of her hmmmmmmmmm...

Her being seen as a traitor was a result of what Kefka said coupled with her sudden disappearance.

I think it was because she started questioning the Empire's motives and began refusing to fight. But that's what I think; I haven't considered evidence yet.

Oops, I guess I should spoiler this, even though I'm not sure if it's correct or not.

Are you asking why Kefka considered her a traitor or why Locke considered her a traitor?

Oops, Phunbaba, you're right.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view Celes torched Maranda. Well, this is from the in-game script: Guard: So, the mighty Celes has fallen! Celes: How can you serve those cowards... Guard: Hold your tongue! Celes: Isn't it true Kefka's going to poison the people of Doma, to the east? Guard: Shuddap! Setzer: Phew. The Empire's made me a rich man. Celes: Stop thinking of yourself. Many towns and villages have been smashed by the Empire. Gestahl: Celes... together we can rule an entire world! Think of it...! Celes: Power only breeds war... I wish I'd never been born. That's all they really discuss, so I guess she just had a change of heart and found the empire's action loathesome. :-D -------------------- Little miss Muffet, sat on her tuffet, Eating her curds and... Possible spoilers: highlight to view I'm pretty sure she disobeyed some order or dissaproved of poisoning Doma, and other questionable tactics by the Empire leading to her imprisonment. At that point, she was just probably being held in Jidoor before being Court Martialled and transferred back to the Empire. -------------------- "Only the dead have seen the end of their quotes being misattributed to Plato." -George Santayana "The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here..." -Abraham Lincoln, prior to the discovery of Irony. |

Possible spoilers: highlight to view To confirm about if Celes torched Maranda or not: Here's a quote by Cyan when he first meets her (during the meeting where everyone was at to defend the esper from Kefka, you know where Terra goes crazy!), "This's general Celes. She torched Maranda! She's an Imperial spy!...", so she did torched Maranda, i'm not sure why she had a change of heart of how she had a change of heart, but anyone have any idea? Why was Celes being held captive in the first place
Possible spoilers: highlight to view even if she did oppose weren't they going to execute her? Possible spoilers: highlight to view so did Leo and he walked away from his argument with Kefka just fine. And at the time of her imprisonment she was just as strong (if not stronger) than Kefka Poisening Doma Possible spoilers: highlight to view so that leads me to beleive more people were out to get her than just Kefka. he hadn't gotten at the statues yet -------------------- There is a time and a place for everything, and I am niether |

Quote (Dark Paladin @ 18th April 2004 23:10) Are you asking why Kefka considered her a traitor or why Locke considered her a traitor? I wondered why the Empire (including Kefka) thought she was a traitor. |

the empire considered her a traitor, because she realized that the war was stupid before anyone else.... and because she realized this fact she would have stopped becoming involved in anything involving the war and would have rebeled, that is why she would have been imprisoned... as for the returner's thinking she was a traitor, that was because in the magitek research facility kefka was saying stuff (i don't remember any exact quotes) about her still being part of the empire, and stuff like that and locke began to doubt her...
