Hi,long time player and first post here, recently played ff3 again after years but I'll cut to the chase. I've searched high and low for the grenade so I can get him to appear on the veldt but, I cannot find him to encounter him. The extras in the anthology claim he's in vector and different faqs say he's in the Thasama region, but I've never once tangled with this guy. Any help would be appreciated.

You have to have encountered the Grenade to have him appear on the Veldt. There's a forest to the west of the Veldt (take the airship) where you can fight him. That's in the World of Balance, only, though.

You can only fight it in two places:

WOB forest west of the veldt and the burning house in Thamasa

......Somehow i dont trust a younger sibling to do it

There isn't any grenade in the burning house (except in the Flame Eater battle). The only place that you encounter it is effectively in the forest in the west of Veldt.

The grenades aren't in the burning house at all, even in the Flame Eater battle. Those are just the same fireball enemy that you fight around the rest of the house (I can't remember their name). The grenade looks like them, but is a palette swap: it's gray.

heu... Grenade CAN appear in the Flame Eater battle. Check the battle formation #449 in the Lord J's editor or its battle script. When Flame Eater does Bomblet, it's either 4 Balloons or a grenade that appear.

Even if you do get a Grenade to show up when fighting the Flame Eater, it still won't show up on the Veldt. You need to fight a Grenade it's own formation in the forest west of Veldt.

As a long time player, I too have never encountered this Grenade enemy. I have searched that forest mentioned above but to no avail. Either it's a VERY uncommon battle or it's formation does not appear for some reason. I've tried to get all the Rages, and this is one of the few (5 or less) that I haven't been able to get.

The forest west of Veldt (more precisely, it is the forest directly south of the Phantom Forest on the overworld map). There are only Bombs and Grenades in there. I estimate that the encounter rate for Grenades is roughly 1:8, so 12.5% of the time you will encounter 1 Grenade instead of a Bomb. I have never had a problem encountering this enemy there.

Note: MUTE is extremely effective versus Bomb and Grenade. You are probably best served equipping the Siren Esper, for when you get the 6 Bomb formation. Their muted state is the perfect opportunity to OSMOSE them silly.

Warmech from FF1 is far more difficult to get. I even know specifically which tiles he appears on and its still pretty rare.

One time when I played through Final Fantasy, I fought Warmech twice on my trek across the bridge to Tiamat. Of course, the next time when I was looking for it I spent over an hour fighting monsters and never fought it. That's just the way things work. I generally don't have any trouble finding a grenade though, it's only a 1 in 16 chance, but that usually doesn't take too long.
