i was wondering what was the best relic

Depends on your needs. Most people consider the Protect Ring (aka Guard Ring) to be the best relic. The Genji Glove is nice for defense too though.

There are exactly four protect rings in the game - all in the third world. There is one each in the pyramid, island shrine, and easterly falls, and you can also steal one during your fight with Odin if you're lucky. If you're not lucky, keep a time mage handy to cast Reset.

I always liked the Flame Ring, Cursed Ring, and the WingedShoes (HermesShoes maybe? I forgot the name). Flame Ring is incredible with at least oen black mage in your party, Cursed Ring has great stats and since most battles aren't longer than 30 seconds, the bonus is without drawbacks. I forgot if the condemn heals you if you have BoneMail one or not, so I didn't mention that. And of course, the WingedShoes are always great for the haste.

And, as WildHalcyon said, ProtectRing is always a good choice.

If you equip both BoneMail and Cursed Ring, you still die anyways with Condemn.. Once your character is dead, he can't be revived anymore during battle (Phenix Down, Life, Life2, etc.. Those will never work with BoneMail.).

Yes, those rings are great.. But in my opinion my most favorite ring has gotta be that Wall Ring Wall Ring is great when you're fighting monsters that use high-level spells.. I mean, that's what saved me on my Thief SCC while I was fighting Ex-Death! Except for Neo. Damn, his Meteo is killin' me =P
