They're supposedly hard to get, but if you fill up the arena, the Original Creations monsters randomly cough up Dark Matter as rare (2x if overkill).

It could be my memory failing me, but I thought the area creations monsters could drop dark matters too. Also, this is secondhand since I've never done it myself, but if you happen to be playing the International version of FFX, you can beat down the Dark Aeons who drop dark matter regularly (this is on the word of my cousin in Hong Kong).

Yeah, Area creations drop them as well as Species creations. I remembered only Original since those are the challenging ones.
As for HP above 9999, you need Wings to Discovery. They're only gained from bribing Malboro enemies. |

You can get 30 Wings to Discovery by doing the chocobo races at Remiem Temple (open 3 chests, IIRC), and Shinryuu in the battle arena drops them as well.

yeah wings to discovery but if you dont want to cough up severeal millions to get 60 for break hp limit and you dont want to break your controler at the remien temple race i suggest you do this. Whenfighting ultima weapon be sure to see what item you got before you save because he either gives a weapon that is triple overdirve or a break hp limit armour. so i beat him once and got wakka a wep so i reset and got tidus break hp limit armour. he has 20000 hp and 2000 mp cause i added break mp limit to his also. and on top of that i added something else i just dont remeber what.
dark matter you get like 60 or 99 for unlocking one of the unique creatures. and like everyone else said all of the species conquest and stuff give you 2x for overkill every once in a while. i just leveled up really high and now i just fight one eye over and over and i kill him in one shot with celestial weps but the point is he gives triple ap weps (sometimes) and he gives magic defense spheres (some time matter) so just fight him and you will get almost anything you need. + he is easy just dont let him hit you... -------------------- "Isn't ramza a girls name?" -me i havent changed my avatar or anything in a long time! time for a change yall! |

Hmm, two weeks since I played and already I forget the one-time Wings to Discovery rewards.
In my power-play game, I maxed out most of Kimahri's stats from the arena. I got annoyed when I got Dark Matters instead of the two stat spheres I needed to finish off a stat cap. It's some big number like 50 or 60 required to Break HP Limit, so the process is longer than stat maxing anyway. |

As for obtaining Break HP Limit armors, my method is always the same : I go to the Cave of the Stolen Faith, get into the first fight with Yojimbo with a character equiped with a Frist Strike weapon, call Yuna to my help and have her summon Yojimbo. I pay him a nice amount of Gils and hope he does Zanmato; if not, I restart.
Since the summoner runs away, and that when you save or exit the cave the fights restart from the first one, you can have your armors in about an hour if you're lucky. This post has been edited by Mr Thou on 14th April 2004 12:42 |

Don't you have to beat that summoner and Yojimbo before you can earn Yojimbo?

Quote (SaintWeapon @ 15th April 2004 05:11) Don't you have to beat that summoner and Yojimbo before you can earn Yojimbo? I realize now that I didn't stated that the Yojimbo you're up against is Dark Yojimbo : you must first obtain Yojimbo on your way to Zanarkand (you have to pay him around 200.000 gils or so, IIRC), then come back when you have the airship, and the Dark Aeons are loose. |
