Who here liked the Sphere Grid on FFX? Personally I didn't care for it all that much but I was just wondering if anyone did.

I loved the sphere grid system. It was fun, and you could customize your characters to whatever you wanted them to be, making the game closer to an actual RPG.

Plus, I'm a stats geek. I like being in control of stats and abilities like that.

It had its advantages and disadvantages for advantage you get to choos what your lvl goes to and for disadvantages somtimes it's confusing.

I didn't like the grid system as much as other people, but it didn't detract enough from the game to make me not like it.

It was innovative, I'll give them that. However some things didn't quite gel, like how Kimahri - my Ronso warrior got the 3rd level black magic spells before Lulu, my black mage.

But it was pretty good. 10/10 for originality, and a 7/10 for how well it worked. thumbup.gif

I loved it! I thought it was really neat to teach the characters how you wanted them to be like.

You're on to something Iggy. Fortunately I looked into that. Kimahri's sphere grid has only Lv 1 blocks between it and everyone else's, hence a quicker route to the desirable sphere in conjuction with him being at the center. Note Yuna has a long way to go to get to Holy. Kimahri takes the back door path through some of Rikku's grid to Holy, his getting there before Rikku can by the time you get a Lv 3 key sphere. As for Lulu's high level magic, she has a long way to go. Kimahri shortcuts to her high level spells via a Lv 1 and Lv 2 lock through a straightforward stroll in Wakka's grid. Kihmahri can travel the entire grid most quickly, learning everything. He lacks, however, a high base stat. By the time you do cycle him through the grid completely, you'd have the stat spheres to push him past the limits. To not abuse Kimahri is folly.

Back on topic, the grid looks pretty, but has it's nuisances (should I give up those two great nodes now and waste a Teleport sphere later on to get them?).

I liked the sphere grid, it was col, some of my characters were powered-up red mages practically (Due to the fact they had been almost all he way done on it.)
