Mine...cra...NOOOOOooooo!
The spell finally appears to be mildly broken. Which is to say, I'm finally playing other games as well. For the moment, they are as follows: - Mass Effect 2: A good game, but I still get itched about some of the changes they made. - Amnesia The Dark Descent: Holy crap! A first person survival horror game and boy does it deliver! L4D: Cause...I gotta fevah...and the only prescription...is more L4D! ... If I said anything other than Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, I'd be lying. All the hype about the 3rd-generation PSP game has me feeling it again. Currently experimenting with bowguns and trying to farm G-rank Nargacuga for a gunner set.

Lack of inventory and the power nerfing were the worst for me (ammo types as powers? Boooo.) That said, even if it doesn't quite compare to ME1, I like ME2. And since I hear that Lair of the Shadow Broker is pretty good, I intend to give ME2 another play-through before Dragon Age 2 comes out in March. In fact, I think I'll do that after my current FFVI run. Sorry, FFXII ![]() -------------------- |

Quote (Galsic @ 14th December 2010 00:40) In fact, I think I'll do that after my current FFVI run. Sorry, FFXII ![]() You've got me stoked for some FFXII again. I really want the international (Korean and Japanese) version so I've put it off until I can play that, but it doesn't look like it'll be soon. FFXII looks like it's booked in for the Christmas holidays. I've been playing FFI after realising how little I got into the game last time I played. Pretty standard but enjoyable. Also, Rome: Total War. I realised my dream of building a super-city in the desert from scratch. The game allows you to increase population sizes when troops disband in a city's area. So I went Carthage and did a mass exodus from Carthage and the other cities into the Sahara by building peasants and disbanding them on the border. After a few years I had a massive city in the middle of absolutely nowhere before the Romans came in and starting conquering everything. They couldn't cross the desert quick enough to get me, and currently I'm still at war with them holding out to the bitter end. Great game. -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Me on the Starcraft. |

The former is amazing, the latter is good too. |

Hey gang, I was wondering if anyone still plays Starcraft 2 around here?
I know I haven't been around much the past year or so, but I'd love to add some more people to play with. I'm a zergie through and through. -------------------- The clouds ran away, opened up the sky And one by one I watched every constellation die And there I was frozen, standing in my backyard Face to face, eye to eye, staring at the last star I should've known, walked all the way home To find that she wasn't here, I'm still all alone -Atmosphere "Always Coming Back Home to You" |

Uh, Merry Christmas.
Gonna check out the ME2 demo, having never experienced anything ME related, and have been hearing good things obviously. Other than that I find myself ridiculously unable to focus on one game for a decent amount of time, can't even concentrate on xmas either hence why I'm here!? Just started Deus Ex.
It's giving me some slight headache issues the way Metroid Prime was. Though it may have been because I was playing it against a bright window, and had just changed my glasses. And I wasn't drinking enough water. I'm being serious. That said, I stopped at the weapons tutorial. This would be my first computer FPS, FWIW. I've only ever played two FPSes other than this, and they are Halo (for five minutes) on an XBox, and Metroid Prime (about half the game, which I really enjoyed, especially for the all the scans). Still have Recettear on my mind. This is because a fellow TV Tropes member gave me Deus Ex (after buying like eight copies) and the Indie Story Pack (a $5 pack of indie games, including And Yet It Moves, Puzzle Agent, and Recettear) on Steam. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. After finally finishing Skies of Arcadia (I hadn't been able to play all semester while away at school), I have just recently started Valkyrie Profile. From my first two hours of play, it immediately struck me as being a very unique, though tragic, game. I'm not quite sure what's going on with the battle system and I'm not quite used to the 2D dungeons and towns, but the plot shows signs of being excellent. I'm quite captivated by it to say the least, and I hope to finish it over the course of Christmas break.

Quote (Glenn Magus Harvey @ 25th December 2010 18:33) Just started Deus Ex. How are you finding it? If you like you can put on a graphic and resolution improvement patch. You can find it here: HDTP Also if you like the game, check out The Nameless Mod. Actually, even if you don't like DX have a look anyway. It's both a hilarious and involving satire and a brilliant game rolled into one. All you need is the original DX to play it. I suppose I should add: I've been going on a holiday Steam bonanza. Completed Braid and Machinarium, now I'm trying to complete Torchlight on Very Hard / Hardcore but I just can't find a character niche that can win the easiest. I've experimented with the Destroyer, now I'm thinking Vanquisher with a shield. I'm worried that if I don't get it right I'll die after 5+ hours of play. For those who don't know, dying on Hardcore means, well, you die. Permanently. I have barely started it; I'm still in the tutorial, up next is weapons practice.
The control scheme takes some getting used to, especially since this is my first computer FPS game (and third FPS overall). I had to put off my Ghost Trick preorder to afford 999: 9 Hours, 9 People, 9 Doors. I heard the latter is on pair with Hotel Dusk and its sequel Last Window, so I literary had to buy it.
Until it arrives, I'm enjoying Monkey Island 2: Special Edition on Steam. This post has been edited by Metal King Slime on 1st January 2011 23:26 |

At the moment while on the PC? Nothing unless I decide to start up the Digimon Online game lol
For games I'm playing currently off the PC, I've begun to play Halo: Reach, Call of Duty (can't remember the name of it though xD) which I really, really enjoy and Assassin's Creed II, though not much of that one. I've also begun to play Animal Crossing: City Folk. It doesn't seem to be very different and the online play isn't what it said it was. Oh, and lastly, I'm also playing Mario: Legend of the Seven Stars! :33 -------------------- |

Just got Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective for the DS, it's great so far. Has a really great ensemble of characters.
I also started playing Rock Band 3 again, playing it almost daily. I haven't been like this since the first RB game. Quote (MagitekElite @ 1st January 2011 23:52) Oh, and lastly, I'm also playing Mario: Legend of the Seven Stars! :33 YES! In other news, I've also broken my Minecraft spell for the moment, but will assuredly get back to it at some point. Ever since the music competition, I've been staving off the need, nay, compulsion to play FF: Tactics, or VII, or IX. I love them all, but I've got plenty in my library I should really get through first before showing them some love again. I was really digging Donkey Kong Country Returns, but was hankering some Harvest Moon goodness. Thus, I've plunged into Rune Factory Frontier and shown my Wii some more love, give the XBox and Fallout 3 a break. Ooooo... damnit... I just looked at my games and thought, "Hey, Front Mission 4... Where've you been?" Resist, Greg! RESIST! Okay, back to more Rune Factory. Oh! And my recent 12 hrs. of flying home and back for visiting gave me lots of time to play some Final Fantasy on my iPod touch. I'd never played the PSP version with the magic points and phoenix downs and such - man is it easy. I like the challenge of the original gameplay myself, but it's still a nice bit of nostalgia! Again, back to more Rune Factory. -------------------- Games on the Go Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy: Four Warriors of Light Baldur's Gate Too much to play, so little time! Greg |
