I think its about time to see how much you guys know about FFIV/FF2, this is my personal favorite out of all the FF's, mostly becuz it was my first one. Standard thread rules apply, you may only pose a question after you have correctly answered the previous one. Here goes:
Quote Trivia rules: 1) One question on the board at a time please. 2) You may post a new question ONLY if you get the previous question correct. 3) Only post a new question after the question poser has confirmed an answer is correct or is satisfied the answer is sufficient. 4) Follow the normal board rules for off-topic posts. Questions about the current question or answer are still welcome. 5) Do not start a chain of answers (i.e. If Cecil asks question one, and Palom answers, Cecil can not answer the following question, whether it be asked by Palom or anyone who Palom passes the question to). 6) Have fun. Who or what is Indra? This post has been edited by Neal on 27th February 2005 17:42 |

Wasn't that question out of turn? See the rules in the FF6 trivia thread. That topic was only allowed to remain open on the provision that those rules were followed, and the same goes for this one.

In Ff4 what is a huge differane in the town of baron in the american version and japanese version ? disclude dialoge, and names of things, items found. Well aside from those 3 obvious things you want discluded from the question (Dialog, Names, Items) well, one major difference was the Stats inbetween all kinds of monsters. Overall the majority of monsters are weaker (per say) then the Japanese version of the game. One major thing to point out too, during Rosa's capture she has an Anvil above her head, instead of a Scythe-kind-of-blade.. thats all i can think of, off the top of my head. |

Well, since Neal tried to answer, I assume MM's post will be the question to answer.
And his question was just about the town of Baron. You are actually asking for alot here, so I'll leave out translation things, and minor script changes. FFIIus Chests in Inn has: Tent, Heal, Cure1 Called Serpent's Road Training Room in SW corner of city Training Room has two large floors Rosa's mom's house has a tent in pot Dancer leaves dress on Grass behind Cid's house has two Heals and a Life Water has two tents Item shop sells six items Buildings: Weapon/Armor shop, Item Shop, Rosa's house, Cid's house, Inn, Training Room, and Serpent's Road FFIV Chests in Inn has: DwarfBread, Tent, EyeDrop Called Devil's road Training Room below Devil's road Training Room has one small room Rosa's mom's house has a MaidenKiss in pot Dancer takes dress off Grass behind Cid's house has two Golden Needles and a Phoenix Down Water has one tent and a Copper hourglass Item shop sells eight items Buildings: Weapon/Armor shop, Item Shop, Rosa's house, Cid's house, Inn, Devil's Road, and a blank building -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

OK then...I'm rather short on questions, but here's one. How many enemies can the trap doors in the sealed cave turn into?

Two. One is a chimera-like enemy; the other's appearance I can't remember.

Okay, here we go:
Not counting elemental weakness/defenses, special effects (e.g. status effects), and damage variation, what FIVE attack spells (Fire 1/2/3, Ice 1/2/3, Lit 1/2/3, Virus, Quake, Nuke, Meteo, White) have the most power per MP used? Extra credit if you can put them in order. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. You can find me on the Fediverse! The Ancient has it.
I'm sorry I forgot to clarify my question. I should also have said that (1) the question accounts for the power of casting the spell against one lone enemy, (2) don't take into account the time needed to cast the spell, and (3) assume the Black and White magic multipliers are equal (so that only the spell power stat is taken into account). These spell power stats come from Ben Siron's FF2 'Handbook', 2nd edition (http://www.ffonline.com/media/guides/ff4/ff4-handbook.txt). My thanks go out to you, Mr. Siron! spell name: (spell power stat)/(MP cost)=(spell power per MP used) 1st-order Fire/Ice/Lit: 16/5=3.2 2nd-order Fire/Ice/Lit: 64/15=4.267 3rd-order Fire/Ice/Lit: 256/30=8.533 Drain: 20/18=1.111 Virus: 128/20=6.4 Quake: 200/30=6.667 Nuke: 400/50=8 Meteo: 800/99=8.081 White: 336/46=7.304 So the five most MP-economical spells are Fire3/Ice-3/Lit-3, Meteo, and Nuke, in that order. I gave it to The Ancient because he gave the correct spells, even though he included the 6th and the 7th most economical spells, White and Quake. Virus actually comes in 8th if any of you are wondering. I left out Psych (0 MP, power=16) because you can't divide by zero and it decreases MP (the others all decrease HP), and Venom (2 MP, power=0) because its damage is always 1 (since damage calculated to be between 0 and 1 is set to be 1) and its spell power economy is essentially zero. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. Ha Ha, well thanks. Although I must admit, I was answering a different question. I just listed in order the 5 Most Expensive Spells. So it's interesting to note that the most expensive spells happen to be the most efficient. In any case here is my trivia.
Where in FFIV can one find a secret path to a room containing only a treasure box with 10000 GP? -------------------- "That Light has bestowed upon me the greatest black magic!" |

I believe that's in the small room that serves as an entrance to the passageway to the Castle of Baron from the town of Baron. The secret passageway is on the right-hand wall.

Wasn't there a secret room like that in the Lunar Subterrain or something? I thought I remember seeing a treasure with GP in it, and I thought to myself...how dumb is that...i don't need GP now! But maybe it twas a dream. But then again...

Alright. I've got a two part question:
a ) What enemies leave behind the Cursed Ring? Name three of the six. b ) What does the Cursed Ring do? Name its special property and, as a bonus, what it does to your stats. Good luck! ![]() -------------------- --sbq92 <>< |
