another odd, weird, sorta deranged topic from Mookie

if you got to choose a superpower of some sort, what would it be? (example: telekenisis, telaphy, the ability to leap over tall buildings, flying, big and strong, etc.) I would've made this a poll but there are just too many choices to choose from

I would love to have the power of telekenisis. move objects with my mind. use it at school! haha!

For me, it's a toss-up between teleportation and phasing (that's the best word I can use to describe passing through solid objects).

Telepathy, to the point where I can read minds and everything but also plant suggestions in peoples heads, and well yeah control people with my mind. That and to make things catch fire and explode my focusing on it. So if it isn't flammable, it explodes. I love super powers.

I would like to have telepathy like in "What Women Want" with good 'ole Mel Gibson.

That or to transform into different kinds of animals. I could fly as a bird, run super fast as a cheetah, or just knock someone's head of their shoulders as a bear.

Wow, that's a hard one.

I'd have to say telepathy would be excellent, from reading minds to subtle influence over others' actions to not so subtle methods of totally controlling their every move.  On a simliar vein, kinesis would be very interesting, as in the ability to affect energy itself with your mind.  Naturally, I wouldn't mind super-strength or super-speed, since both would come in handy in many situations.  And flying would be cool, just for the experience.  And of course, we can't rule out just plain making things blow up.

Agh, it's too hard.

Telekinesis would be my first choice.  If one was skilled enough with such a power, there is little that one couldn't do.  One would also be almost unstoppable.  Those of you who want to be able to fly...you realize that that would be possible with telekinesis?  You could have your cake and eat it too.

The ability to set things on fire is called pyrokinesis.  That would be fun, to be sure.  Invisibility, telepathy, teleportation...those would be awesome, too.  And when I say teleportation, I don't mean just myself...I mean other people and objects, too.  Also, time travel would be nice.  And as far as practicality goes, I really wish that breathing, eating, and sleeping weren't necessary.

It'd be awesome to be really fast, too.  Were I a comic book character, I'd probably want my power to be control over gravity.  Can't be too powerful.

Transmorgification ^-^ Now that would rule, to be able to turn into an animal at will. Not sure what I'd be though, but in an rpg that I used to be in, I was a fairy that could turn into a hawk. I didn't get to use her much, but I thought that was a neat concept.

Ooooo, of course I agree with Elena! Being an anthromorphic creature would be neat. The ability to turn into one, instead of an animal would be kewl too. I mean, picture just walking down the street and seeing someone like that Heehee, it'd be funny.

I would want the ability to transform into any animal that I please...because doing so would give me many abilities that humans deem "super powers."  I could turn into a bird and fly around, or I could turn into a chameleon and gain camouflage.  If I were a dolphin I'd be very powerful underwater.  Just watch out for tuna nets, I guess.

You mean "cryokinesis," right?  And yes, that would rule.

Another cool ability would be invisibility.  Think of all the fun pranks you could play!  Plus it would be interesting to see what people say about you when you're "not there".

I would want the ability to manipulate energy, including my own body's energy field.

That makes so many abilities possible:telekinesis, pyrokinesis, cryokinesis, just about any kind of kinesis...

Also you can add energy (and thus strength) to punches and lifting and stuff resulting in super strength.

lasers from you fingertips, crontrolling electrical circuits, etc., etc., etc...

Well I have a sample of gifts that people would like based of LoK series first I will list Raziel's gifts.

1. Ability to phase through metal grates.
2. Ability to climb any vertical surface.
3. Ability to swim at any depth and not worry about running out of air.
4. Ability to constrict- create a band of spectral energy to move imoveable object.
5. Summon Wraith Blade- yep summon you're own symbiotic soul stealing weapon.
6. Shift into spectral realm. This ability would be the most useful. You can't get sick here and your body slowly restores itself. Plus when you are cornered go to spectral realm and watch te muggers disappear while you escape.

Kain's(not Highwind) Gifts

1. Mist Become invisble when in the presence of mist. Wouldn't be that useful.
2. Fury Knock people back and hurt them bad in one blow.
3. Jump Jump great distances cross river banks in one leap very useful.
4. Charm control others read their thoughts and make them do your bidding.
5. Berserk Open up with a flurry of blows sending your opponent reeling through the air always cool to watch.
6. Telekinesis we all know already
7. Immolate Incerate you opponent in one go.

Preferably I'd prefer to fly that would be good.

Divination.  Various abilities included - mind reading, farsight, etc., - all tieing in with the phrase "knowledge is power".  Government secrets, what's going on behind your back, what DF is thinking at any given time, and how they get the caramel in the caramilk bars.

We did this poll in our class last year.  Why?  I don't know... I think we had some spare time in English and someone wanted to ask.  I think it was just teleportation and invisibility though... and reading minds.  We decided that reading minds would only be useful if you could shut it off, otherwise it would be just plain out annoying.  Well, I think invisibility won out 20 to 12 or so.  Bunch of pervs.  =P
