Not entirely sure why I'm writing this topic (except that it seems like a good bet that no-one's done it before.) but anyway.
Does anybody on the board play rugby? I know most of you guys are American and therefore basically play the padded version, but as a proud player I wan to know if anyone else shares my love of the sport. I play right wing, which basically means I stand on the far right of the pitch, the ball gets passed down the line to me and I run (fastest guy on the team) and try to score. -------------------- For Belle - Everything I Do GO GO GOBLIN PUNCH! There was an American who came here for a while who played Rugby in Uni; one of the guys from my old basketball team did the same. I like watching it but never could play it - I'll stick with soccer, thanks.

Well, there's the user BGrugby, who goes to Bowling Green University in Ohio and plays rugby, or something like that. That may be the person R51 is referring to. I'm not sure if he's still around--you can try PMing him to see.

I dont really need to chase him down, just anyone who passes through really. I encourage anyone who'll listen to try and take it up even on a monthly basis or something. Rangers51, if you're a soccer player I'm sure you'd make a killing as a fly half. A fly half's job is to kick the ball up the field for the wingers to chase it or to take the conversions (which are like field goals basically.)

I don't play, but I follow every game I can get my hands on. My good friend Thomas was playing until he injured his finger badly in a game during a scram.
We do play a little with my cousins, but only on touch (and with an occasionnal real tackle for the fun |

I attempt to avoid it at all costs. many of the people at my school are large, and I'm exceedingly skinny. I remember one time when I was on some pads; one of the bigger boys went right at me and I went flying! ouch.

I played recreationally when I studied at Newcastle Uni in Australia. Good fun that. Rugby Union and Rugby League were both quality to watch.

I haven't played in 3 years, alas, since grade 11, but I did vastly enjoy the sport. So much fun, I must say. I was a prop, though coulda' easily been an 8-man. My coach, however, thought having a lighter, faster prop that was still capable of holding up in the scrum was a good thing. I was happeh

Yes I played for 4 years in college and coach it now in high school. I played hooker (yes go ahead and laugh everyone who doesn't know rugby) and flanker if needed. I loved it especially being on one of the top teams in America even though that is not considering much on the world circuit.
