In game, I've seen Riot Blade and Royal Shock multiple times and thought something along the lines of it was so unexpected. I think I saw one other too but I forgot what it was.

Out of the two I like Riot Blade better since the visual is so much cooler and it makes so much more sense to do a distanced attack that hits the enemy than it does to just spin around your blade without actually touching the opponent.On the other hand, am I the only one who thought about this when they first saw Royal Shock? I can't be, right?

Despite having played the game so much. I have never activated a desperation attack, however I wasn't aware of them for a very long time.

I had a really rare experience in my first playthrough. I was in the phantom forest with Shadow, and he performed Shadow Fang not once, not twice, but THREE times in a row in the same battle. At the time I had no idea what was going on but though it had to be some fancy interceptor move (even though interceptor wasn't even involved...) Since then I've had less luck, seeing backblade once, tiger break once, riot blade once, and I believe that's it.

I have only ever seen Celes' and this was yesterday. I was in the Colliseum(SP?) and I was up against the Cactuar, on the way to getting a Growth Egg for Locke and it was going... Badly. She'd just use something like haste on herself loads despite her having Hermes Sandals on, either that or she'd attack and miss.

It got to the point where I was like, I don't remember exactly, but I think it was around 200-500 which isn't good seeing as Cactuars like to exert 1000 needles each dealing 1 damage (I assume). But then she just went ka-plow! Used her desperation move and ka-boom, 9999 hit >:D

Hmm...I've seen Riot Blade, Mirager, Royal Shock, Tiger Break, Black Blade, and Celes' and Shadow's, the names of which escape me. I haven't seen any of them in years, it was all when I had played the game the first few times and was just jamming the attack button during battles. Pretty neat and surprising to an 11 year old kid, though.
