The first Final Fantasy symphony concert to be performed in the United States has become a sell out in just three days.

The concert scheduled for Monday, May 10 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles will consist of songs from Square Enix's Final Fantasy series as performed by Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and the Los Angeles Master Chorale.

Ticket prices had started $40 and topped out at $120 US. The only place to find tickets now will probably be Ebay, if even there if one is lucky (lucky is a relative term as the price of such a ticket will probably exorbitant). The fact that the E3 Expo is also occurring that week in LA is thought to have contributed to the quick sell out.

It be interesting to hear the orchestra and chorale's rendition of One Winged Angel. Maybe they will produce a CD of the performance.

if it sold out that fast then they would be stupid not to realease a cd of the performance. If anything, there will probably be somebody recording that concert who will later turn it into downloadable mp3s within a few days. i can't wait thumbup.gif

Oh man... I so wish I could be there at the concert. That would be awesome. Unfortunately, I've never heard of an orchestra playing "FFVI: Boos Battle Theme" or any of the battle themes. They usually play Terra's Theme, or Forever Rachel, and slow songs like that. Still cool, but I would pay at least $20 for a live recording of an orchestra performing the FFVI Boss Battle Theme. biggrin.gif

I hope they don't just cater to the Playstation crowd and ignore the existence of the earlier FFs. At least one FFVI song would be nice. I seriously don't expect much from the older games. It seems at least 75% of FF fans are from the Playstation generation, so expect a lot of FFVII-FFX coverage. I'd be happy if they played the entire FFVI Opera, integrating every part of it down to the cute little tune played when Celes is reading the script. smile.gif I think that's the FFVI song best suited for an orchestra, but there are other good candidates as well (Terra, Rachel, Kefka, Daryl/Setzer, Dancing Mad).

I strongly hope they play a good arrangement of the Exdeath battle theme of FFV, which I consider to be the second-best battle theme ever. Unfortunately, neither am I going to the concert nor is that track a popular one.

And then I also hope that there will be a rock band and a pipe organ. Why? Because then they can do Dancing Mad 3 and 4 in glorified form!!! Yahooooooooo!

I would loooove to be there, but I'll settle for a CD. A friend burned me a copy of an orchestration of the FF6 opera and it's great, though sung in Japanese.

Maybe they should have Rock instrumentalists too, because then they could do a lot of the excitning FF7 - X songs. I hope they do the FF7 world map piece. I also second i90's motion for older FF's. There are enough good ones in FF5 in my opinion.... and FF6, well duh, the level of ass-kicking there goes without saying.

(but I said it...hm)

Get me off this Disciplinary Committee so I can play any FF except for FF8!!!

I Wonder if they will do the FFVI boss music, does anyone think there will be music for Chrono Trigger?

Has anyone found a non-midi version of the Exdeath battle theme? In my searchs I stumbled across this.

A orchestrated version would be great but even a mp3 version would suffice.

If so I BEGGETH!

I would have loved to go to this. The symphonic arrangements of Final Fantasy music are always spectacular.

I'm glad that it would have been too far away, anyway. I would've been bummed about not getting tickets if I could possibly have attended.
