If you remove the cursed shield from one of your members and equip it onto another of your members, does the 256 battle counter restart?

The only rules are that you must have it equipped for 256 battles and that it must be someone other than Gogo holding it.

Because they made it that way.... The same routine that handles the cursed shield's counter also does the equipment-taught magic, and since Gogo can't learn spells, he/she/it is also skipped for the cursed shield counter.
