I noticed alot of people don't like using the special characters because they feel they are too overpowered. I mentioned it before but I think each of the special characters can easily be translated into another FFT job class to keep the characters but retain the correct difficulty of the game. I decided to list my choices and why I think they suit the character.

Agrais,Samurai - She's a noble, loyal servant to the princess. Definately fits the Samurai job class.
Mustadio, Calculator - He's an engineer, he should have math skills. Obviously leaving him in the calculator class is silly, so he usually ends up a wizard w/ math skill secondary.
Rafa, Summoner - She shares alot of Rydia qualities and summoning is an "exotic" magic.
Malak, Ninja - I don't like Malak...He usually ends up as a Ninja or thief, I don't put much thought into it.
Orlandu, Bard - Well he's old timey and he inspires other warriors. Additionally the Bard class puts the hurt on his suped up stats.
Meliadoul, Priest - She's a servant of the church.
Beowulf, Monk - He's mountainy and calls himself a Temple Knight, monks hang out in Temples. Makes sense to me.
Reis, Lancer - She spent time as a dragon. Lancers are a class created by the study of dragons. I'm sure you see the connection.

I think you'll find setting special characters up like this will add some enjoyment to the game. Not only does it allow you to work with your imagination, it actually adds challenge to the game by providing you with new characters later on need to learn abilities. And by all means, try out your own character schemes, I'd love to hear some ideas you have for the characters.

1) Do they get to keep their base job skills?
2) I disagree about Agrias. The whole "Save/Loaylty to the Princess" concept seems to go more with Knights than Samurai.

They can do whatever you like biggrin.gif . But I actually don't use their base skills, part of the purpose is to reduce the whole "special" character nature of these characters and make them special in story, not in function.
