A friend told me this last night, "The Sephiroth you see throughout all of Disc 1 and up until the crater is really the group of clones made by Hojo. The real Seph went all the way down into lifestream after

"After that, Seph stayed under the North Cave and you don't see him until Cloud and Co. arrive with the Black Materia."

This makes sense in combination with the Seph-looking guys in Advent Children. Furthermore, it makes more sense to me than the "Sephiroth being actually dead and what you see is a ghost or just a chunk of Jenova or something" theory. Despite how much sense my friend's belief makes though, how do we know Sephiroth didn't just climb back out of theIs there something in the game's dialogue I overlooked? What do you guys think?
