Well, looks like the terrorist group Basques or ETA (at least that's what i've gathered so far) has claimed responsibilty for the mass commuter train bombing that has killed 192 people and injured 1400 others. Along with this, are rumored threats of an impending very-large scale attack on the US. Though however, a man from Al Queda has also claimed responsibility.

Well, I don't know much as I just heard about it. But the political implications this could possibly have are fairly high. What's the world coming to.. sleep.gif

The clouds ran away, opened up the sky
And one by one I watched every constellation die
And there I was frozen, standing in my backyard
Face to face, eye to eye, staring at the last star
I should've known, walked all the way home
To find that she wasn't here, I'm still all alone

I'm waiting for someone to bomb Canada and Switzerland. Then we'll know that we've really gone to hell.

Do you have a source on the large-scale attack rumoured to be targeted at the US? I haven't heard that, but I did see a clip of the Madrid tragedy on the news.

I think its sad that people kill each other. Well, its in human nature to do so. IMO its just something we have to deal with and get over. We should be focused on what to do about it, rather than mourning, there will be time for that later.

About the terrorist attacks oin Madrid, ETA did claim it, but investigators found a stolen van near the train station where the bombed trains originated. In this van they found 7 detonators, and a tape with Coran verses.
Despite this evidences, the same investigators are not so sure about Al Qaeda being involved : the modus operandi fits with ETA's, and Al Qaeda's claim seems too rushed to them...

France is also under terrorist threats for 2 weeks now, ever since a bomb was found and followed by threat letters issuing from a group called AZF. A country scaled search has been issued to find out the seriousness of this threat.

The BBC outlined the reaosn for and against it being wither ETA or Al-Quaeda.

ETA have mainly been involved in small-scale attacks upon Governmental groups, and also gives warning. However, i know for a fact an attack like this is suicide for doemstic terror groups: Omagh saw the IRA distanced further and further from the people they allegedly fought for, and put the peace process firmly to the top of the agenda.

Thats why i think this was an Arabic terror group. But not the group that claimed it: They also claimed they were behind the blackouts in North America last year.

But the Demonstration (link to BBC story) underway at the time of posting in spain is very much inspirational. They're showing solidarity: over 2million marching to show the terrorists that they will not win.

CNN said something about how the day of the attack was 911 days after 9/11. Coicidence?

I think it&f39;s a horrible thing to happeno Pretty scary. I have my doubts about Al Qaeda's involvement... I k*ow that it probably is them, but I think more proof needs to be revealed. I hope they agen't blindly blaming Al Qaeda for it, although it's lik1ly that they had involvement in it.
