There are gonna be more of these, I only have two now, but as you can guess, they are Kefka's journals surrounding the event when he was infused with magic. I've never written a Fanfic before, I could really use some feed back.


Journal Entries of human experiment 01

Entry one

Date: June 13, 993 AWM (After the War of the Magi)

Today has been a momentous day. Emperor Gestahl himself has selected me, Kefka Palazzo, to be the first human to be infused with magic. I cannot express the honor I now feel at being part of such an event of both scientific and historical importance. Until now, all Dr. Cid has been able to do is to concentrate the element that produces magical energies (magicite) into a power core for our Magitek Armour. A human infusion hasn’t been done since the days of the Magi. As such, I shall be keeping this journal to catalog this event as I feel that nobody could tell its story better than I. It was a hard fought race I will say that. Everyone was pushing for General Leo; even I thought that I didn’t stand a chance against him. But it would seem that his Excellency has seen something in me that is lacking in Leo. I’m sure that this decision will come as a surprise to many, including General Leo. I myself, looking back, see that it was quite obvious that I was the better candidate, not that Leo isn’t a suitable subject for this experiment. It’s just that… well it doesn’t matter. I’m to be the first, he’ll probably follow in after me for once. I’ll cease here, considering my joy over this is building to a frenzy, I may just begin rambling. I think tonight is a night for celebration.

Entry Two
Date: June 16, 993 AWM

Today is the day of the procedure. Dr. Cid has been doing all sorts of tests to record my physical and mental well being to see if there’s any difference between now and after the infusion. He has been getting increasingly more anxious and worried about the procedure. He keeps reminding me about how dangerous this could be, and that I’m free to back out at any moment. As if I could or would, this procedure means more to the Empire and myself than I think anything does right now. The rebel group The Returners have been becoming far more violent recently and the Kingdom of Doma has had it’s eye on Imperial lands for some time now. I will most certainly be the first in the series of Magitek Knights to bring an end to this tyranny against the citizens of the Empire. And anyway, I’ve worked too hard and too long to just throw away this opportunity. An interesting fact I’ve learned in the past three days is that his Excellency Emperor Gestahl has apparently been training a young girl specifically to become a Magitek Knight. This makes me wonder why his Excellency has decided to use me as the first to be infused, when he has planned for at least twelve years for this girl (who I learned is named Celes Chere) to be infused. I got an opportunity to talk with her when I went to visit Dr. Cid yesterday, whom she seems to revere with as if he was her father. Perhaps that is why, the Emperor feels that this girl is too loyal to Cid and not enough to him. Well anyway, when I spoke to her, I recognized immediately that she was the product of strict military upbringing. Her eyes were not wide and soulful, full of innocence, but more cold like that of a hardened soldier. It was eerie if anything else, I was more than happy to be away from her. Also today I ran into General Leo. He congratulated me on being accepted as the candidate for infusion. I respond by saying that he shall most definitely follow me. After all, we are the Empire’s best Generals, and surely his Excellency would have both of us rather than one. He says nothing in response to this and wishes me good luck. I would hate to say that I was hoping he would be more jealous, but part of me was. Well, I know I would be if I was in Leo’s shoes, but I’m not. It is two hours till go time. I have to go prep for the procedures, so I’ll end here. When I write next I’ll be a new man.

That's not bad at all, considering you don't write many fanfics.
One suggestion...it's a bit...slow. It doesn't seem like there's enough information there. Maybe add some more? Otherwise, great job!

Entry Three
Date: June 24, 993 PWM (Post War of Magi)

I awoke today with a bit of a shock. It has been eight days since the procedure and I have been out since then, but it would seem I was not quite as unconscious I would have thought. I noticed that my attendant was keeping her distance from me, and there were armed guards at the entrances and windows. This sight amazed me, but then I realized that of course his Excellency would most certainly want to keep me from harm. That did not explain the fear, verging on panic, in the men’s eyes when I awoke. I later learned from my attendant that I had been talking rather loudly in my sleep, and not in a very friendly manner. What exactly I said I wasn’t able to find out. This annoyed me. Not a half an hour after I awoke, His Excellency Emperor Gestahl came to tell me that the procedure was a success, and that he can expect even greater things from me than before. I blushed at this and was very embarrassed to have received such a complement from the Emporer himself. After his Excellency left, Dr. Cid came in after him. He repeated essentially the same thing as Emperor Gestahl, but he said he wanted me to remain in bed for a two more days to recover. He also gave me the same terrified look that I had been getting from the guards and attendant. I respond by saying that I was fine and ready to begin mastering this new power he had given me. He responded by saying that that will not be possible since his Laboratory was destroyed. I was shocked to hear this; I assumed that it was a cowardly attempt by the Returners or Doma to keep the Empire from making more Magitek Knights, or perhaps from stopping my own infusion. I said this to Dr. Cid, and he confirmed my suspicions, though he didn’t look me in the eyes when he said it. In fact, several of the guards jumped or made some sort of movement of amazement when Dr. Cid said this, and were immediately disciplined by their commander. My suspicion was renewed, but I said nothing. Dr. Cid then forbid me from trying to experiment with my powers, and said I should use these next two days to rest as I will need it once the training begins. I of course wanted very much to ignore this command, but with armed guards around me wherever I went, and with his Excellency’s desire to keep me same for now, I could do little. I did manage to create ice cubes inside my drink at dinner, so that gave me a small feeling of satisfaction. The guards keep giving me odd looks. This is definitely starting to annoy me. I’ll end here. I’m tired anyway, and I have another day to wait till something actually happens.

That's awesome. This is a really cool idea. But I wonder what Kefka said in his sleep. Also, I never gave a thought that Kefka might have once been a partially innocent human being. It's sad to think that the infusion made him go crazy(this is all justa hypothesis on what I think is going to happen).It reminds of a book, Flowers for Algernon.

Entry Four
Date: July 25, 993 PWM

Reflecting on the past month, I find that training with magic is much like training with any other weapon, only far more satisfying in my opinion. Thus far I've mastered the first two levels of the elemental magic, and few curses to go with them. His Excellency Emperor Gestahl is most pleased with my progress; he visits almost every two days to see my progress. It's nice to have the support of His Excellency; I don't seem to be getting it from anyway else. Professor Cid seems to think I cannot accomplish anything. He insists that I not work my magic anywhere but in the practice fields and arenas, and I understand this for security reasons, but I should be out there using these powers in defense of my Empire! That old fool will barely stay in the same room with me for a few seconds. He fears my power no doubt. He gave it to me, and now he cannot comprehend it. I suspect that has hurt his pride, not being able to understand everything. So must I be punished for that bastard's hubris! I think not. I took that issue up with His Excellency not just a few hours ago, and he agrees with me. His Excellency shall be sending me on a field assignment any time this week. I'm sure that will have that yellow rain slicker wearing fool in an uproar. My guards are still keeping their distance from, as is my attendant. Her voice trembles with fear every time I address her, and I've heard that no soldier in the entire army will volunteer to guard me. I know it has something to do with what I've sleep at night, and nobody will tell me what I've been saying. Perhaps after my mission is complete they'll see that I'm not their enemy. I'm tired; this is all I'll write for this evening.

I really like these, nice job on them. It's also a very creative idea.

How many more are you planning on doing? I wanted to add them to the site, but I wanted to see if you were finished first. If you do more later on, I could add them in a seperate section, but I'd like to do as many as possible (if not all) in the first shot.
